While it was in the shop, one of the technicians noticed that it still had the factory installed filters on it, and I was asked if I wanted the 50 hour service performed. The only problem? The tractor had been in about six months ago for that service. After some detective work, Jeff, the service manager got back to me and admitted that the tractor had somehow been sent back to me without the service being performed. Brian, the store manager, also called and spoke with me, taking full ownership of the mistake and informing me that in order to make amends there would be no charge for the rotary cutter service or the tractor transport fee. The 50 hour service would also be expedited and the tractor would be returned to me the following day. Mistakes happen, but for the folks at Crystal to step up, take responsibility and fix the problem is a refreshing departure from other experiences that I have had in similar situations. Kudos to the staff at Crystal, they have definitely earned my continuing loyalty.

They didn't have the exact model I wanted but I could have ordered online and had free delivery to the store closest to me. Before making the purchase I decided to check out Everglades Farm Equipment thinking that it would make sense to purchase at a retailer where I would likely go to for service down the road. Everglades had exactly what I wanted but I expected their price to be higher than the big box stores. I received a warm reception when I walked through the front door and I was directed to see Mike in the parts department for a price. Mike spent a lot of time with me reviewing alternatives and when he gave me a price on the mower I wanted, to my surprise it was to the penny the exact price of the big box stores. But it gets better! Unlike the big box stores where the mower comes in a box and I would have to assemble myself, Mike had the service department fill with oil, fuel, and test the operation. When everything checked out they carried it out and put it in my car for me. I also mentioned that in a few weeks I will be needing a line trimmer and edger. Mike introduced me to Raphael who I think may be a manager. After a detailed discussion on which model would meet my needs the best (I eventually selected a single power unit with modular attachments) Raffael offered me an unadvertised discount that I believe was available to professionals. The offered discount plus the very helpful yet low pressure sales effort prompted me to make the purchase right then rather than in a few weeks as I had planned. Like the mower, the edger/trimmer was fuelled and tested and placed for me in my car at a price that was lower than that offered by the big box stores. Icing on the cake: they completed the warranty info and submitted to the manufacturer for me! The store itself is like landscapers' Disneyland; large, clean, very organised, with an unbelievable assortment of small to heavy equipment. I had to drool on a few John Deere tractors before I left. Everglades Farm Equipment is an old school sales and service retailer where the customer is clearly valued, no matter how small the purchase. I highly recommend this business with out any reservation.

I was told Crystal tractor could repair it so we loaded it up and trailered it to them . The staff at Crystal Tractor were so easy to work with and very knowledgeable ,they were able to repair my old tractor in a very reasonable time frame and made me and the old Yanmar very happy again .
