    Beautiful views on the lake.

The cruise was fantastic. The captain and wait staff were exceptional. You can't beat the beautiful views on the lake.

Lovely cruise around Lake Sunapee. Not a lot of narration so you can have a conversation with your tablemates. Friendly staff. Food ( buffet) was mediocre.

My in laws we're visiting from California and I thought this would be a fun night for them and it did not disappoint. The captain and crew were wonderful! The tour gave good information about the lake but not so much that it overshadowed the cruise and dinner. The dinner was very good and the highlight was that we were able to extend the evening to watch fireworks from the boat. Overall a great time!

Food was great as was the tour. Sunapee is such a beautiful lake!! So fun to see the Lake Queen in her new home.

Fabulous dinner & views on the two-hour boat ride around the lake. Wonderful staff across the board. I'm thankful for the opportunity to visit while working in New Hampshire, and I'll plan to bring my family back! Thanks for a great evening!

MV Kearsarge, Sunapee Harbor, NH USA, 13 Jul 2014

Fun dinner cruise around Lake Sunapee on the MV Kearsarge with food provided by Appleseed Restaurant in Bradford. Kearsarge is a small wooden vessel with two covered decks. We called ahead for reservations. They didn't issue tickets but asked for a credit card to hold the reservation. Seating was assigned and each deck had advantages. The upper seating area had maybe six tables accessed by a narrow staircase and had slightly better views with small outdoor fore and aft decks. On the other hand, the buffet was located on the lower deck so if carrying full plates of food up and down a staircase isn't your thing, pick the lower deck. We assembled on the Sunapee Harbor dock 30 minutes before departure. On a Sunday eve the harbor wasn't busy so there was plenty of free parking nearby. When the crew was ready the captain welcomed us aboard and showed us to our tables. The tables were set by party size for the most part, so no communal seating. They had tablecloths, fresh flowers and a small plate of crackers with cheese spread. The servers were friendly and efficient, getting everyone drinks. The dinner price included coffee; otherwise there was a cash bar with a small but varied selection of white and red wines by glass or bottle plus beer and a few specialty cocktails. I'd describe the buffet as a step above picnic fare--nothing fancy but hearty. It included a lettuce bar with toppings, cottage cheese and cold salads; scalloped potatoes; vegetable lasagna; mac & cheese; grilled veggies; baked beans; and roast beef carved to order. We were invited to go through the buffet once and return for seconds after everyone had a turn. Several guys decided "first trip through" meant heaping two full-size plates, but there was enough for everyone. Dessert was a simple slice of layer cake. The captain narrated as we motored around the lake, taking us into inlets and showing us lighthouses and houses of wealthy summer homeowners and providing area history. Aerosmith started there - no sign of Steven T. though. We missed most of the tour because the loudspeakers couldn't compete with the people next to us who were more interested in alcohol. Also, the crew inexplicably played a soundtrack of early 1960s pop music ("My Boyfriend's Back") that was moderately annoying. After dinner people moved around to check out the decks and kids were invited to pilot the boat with the captain. The trip took about two hours. We paid our bills and tipped at the end of the meal as at any restaurant. It was a very nice evening to share with friends and good way to experience Lake Sunapee whose shores are mostly privately owned.

This was a fun little cruise around the lake where you get to see how the "other half" live;) The Captain was great and super informative about the history of the lake. The staff was super friendly. Dinner was ok, it was a buffet. The salad bar had plenty of options and I thought that was the best part of the meal. The grilled veggies were good. I didn't try the beans or pulled pork or the veggie lasagna but it looked ok. The scalloped potatoes were just ok. The piece of roast beef that I was given was small and had a lot of fat and a big hunk of veins on it so I kind of lost my appetite with that. Drinks were good. I think I would go again for the cruise but skip the dinner.

I've gone twice (afternoon cruises) and chosen the upper deck both times. If you or any of your guests have mobility concerns, be aware that there is a small and very narrow set of stairs to the top deck and patrons seem to rush to select their chairs. During boarding and disembarking is when the boat rocks the most, so be careful! Seating is first come first serve, and the seats are hard plastic folding chairs (i.e. no padding, which makes sense in case they get wet), but both times I've gone, the weather and the lake were calm and the ride was very smooth. Chairs are arranged in rows like a theater, so if you go with a date, you can't pair off from the crowd if that's what you are hoping. This is very much a family and friends type of outing. The captain narrates intermittently via speakers in an informative and sometimes humorous way, and it isn't at all obtrusive to conversation. Everyone politely stops talking to listen rather than trying to shout over the interesting details being shared, and now you have a new topic to discuss! People vacationing or living along the lakeshore wave cheerfully from their piers, decks, and yards as the boat cruises by, which adds an element of local charm to the outing. I haven't partaken of their packaged snacks, limited selection of mixed drinks, or beer, but all are available from the deck below. If you do go down the stairs to get something and are alone, you may lose your seat, as people are allowed to change locations throughout the ride, but no one is permitted to stand on the upper deck as a matter of safety (unless of course actively moving from one place to another). You can buy tickets at the boat or online, and there are discounts for AAA members and senior citizens. There is a famed ice cream shack near the boat launch that I haven't yet tried but reviews here on Yelp! are stellar.

Someone serves the roastbeef and it was barely luke warm because it was not over heat. Dessert is grocery store like cake. Elevated Wake, takes water sports to a new level…read more Bottom Line up Front: Customer service is definitely priority number one. Having used other water sports companies in Lake Winnipesaukee, Elevated Wake, exceeded expectations. Also, ask for Ryan and Alex! THE GOOD: Elevated Wake was Great! From the pre-flight the night before, the coaching by the crew, to the playlist during the trip, this place reigned supreme. Preflight: they stopped by the night before to make sure they knew where we were located; then they showed up the next day a few minutes early to ensure we got our full scheduled time. Additionally, they had all the gear on board to allow adults and kids to water ski, wake surf and tube. We had used other companies (not to be named here) the last two years, which dropped the ball in that area. Coaching: Ryan and Alex were spectacular! They had great patience, knew exactly what to say and do and when to say and do it. They were able to get the young kids in our group up and skiing within a few runs. Alex (who happens to be on a college water-skiing team in Florida) took the time to work with our kids and physically demonstrated the steps to stand up on skis using the tow rope. She then had them repeat the steps before getting in the water. The results success. Alex and Ryan(who was the Captain at the time) had great crew coordination and were able to effectively communicate take-off and acceleration speeds. Ryan was the coach for wake-surfing and he did a phenomenal job. He easily explained body positions using analogies, such as the gas pedal is the forward foot and the brake is the back foot, and coached body position to enables surfers to get into the sweet spot in a few tries. They both get A-pluses on a job well done! Playlist: Everything goes better with great music and Ryan's playlist was Sierra Hotel (military speak for awesome)! He had summer tunes from the sixties to the present; from the Beach Boys to Boston, Jimmy Eat World to Jack Johnson, Bob Marley to Sublime, he had a great playlist! He knows his music and we had some great discussions. THE BAD: The only thing bad was that we did not book more time. THE UGLY: Absolutely nothing! They nailed it. I was so impressed that I was trying to recruit both Ryan and Alex. Where others fail, Elevated Wake Prevails!
