We stopped there after reading their advertisements and we weren't disappointed. Best location for a brewpub ever. Ever. The brewpub occupies the rear of the gargantuan footprint of the old Anchorage. The best part actually, as it has the outside boardwalks with tables and the beautiful scenic view of Lake Sunapee. It was well attended by the boat crowd and boats were tying up as close as they could. Superb ambiance although limited food offerings. Still, Hoptimystic is tops on the beer scene.

Inside has mostly arts and crafts, local NH products, penny candy, scented candles, hand made soap, dried beef jerky, quilts, and moose signs. Old hardwood floors and pine paneling add to the charm. A nice local family owned business. It might only be open seasonally, closed in the winter months, so call before making a special trip.

There is an expansive and charming patio outside that is puppy friendly. Inside, the seating is more or less sparse but still charming. The menu is extensive. Soups, salads, breakfast items, and both hot and cold sandwiches. I had their French Dip sandwich. Delicious. As well, my oat latte was super! They also have refrigerated stands with both full meals to go, frozen foods and cheeses and salads. Service is awesome. Really so. The storekeeper told me about the place and their growth plans. Such a beautiful place to sit next to the Sugar River with friends or by yourself. I am not proud to say this, but I incredibly picky when it comes to coffee. Over the past two years I've been blessed enough to have traveled all over the world; Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Australia, New Zealand, Greece. The list goes on and on. Yet, the best cappuccinos I've tasted are at the Bend. I find myself finding reasons to go to Sunapee, so I can stop at The Bend. The food is delicious and made with care & pride. Silas and all the employees are very welcoming! They truly make you feel special, almost a feeling of being home. The smiles, laughter and exceptional service is unique. The Bend is a hidden gem!
