Overall I really like the location of this cinema and parking is also fairly easy! However, we paid extra for pdx seats and dang they are tattered and in rough shape. I still think they were more comfortable than the regular seats but annoying to pay extra and have them be in such bad shape. There is a vast parking lot outside of the cinema. There are also plenty of restaurants if you want to grab a bit before or after the movie. The employees were polite and friendly. The tickets were $7 each, and there were no seat assignments. However, the cinema rooms were spacious, offering plenty of seats for everyone, although some were a bit worn. For snacks, get the large popcorn and soda (~$7 each), as they come with unlimited refills. I went to see Longlegs here. The sound and picture quality were excellent. This affordable movie theater won't blow you away, but it is definitely worth the price. read more

Came here on a Saturday around 1pm. to see the new Aquaman movie. Tickets were super cheap $6.50 even though the movie was after 12 pm. Theater is pretty big and spacious. They don't have a full food menu, just the normal popcorn, nachos, hot dogs, ice es, etc...the theater seating is auditorium seating, and there are no assigned seating. If you still like the thrill of getting there early and getting dibbs on the best seating, then this theater is for you. Never the less, it was not that busy, and we still had plenty of seats to choose from. All employees were super polite and friendly. I would definitely be back if I'm ever in the area. This is in a shopping center so there is plenty of parking to choose from. Also, there are a ton of great restaurants around, so if you want to get dinner before or after a movie, there are plenty of spots to choose from. read more

This theater needs to be remodeled. Seats are very worn. I bought tickets online so I wouldn't have time wait in line to get them but they didn't have the computer setup. When I asked about it, I was told they don't set it up if they're not expecting to be crowded. No idea why they couldn't have put up a sign! We were there for a noon showing (so one of the first Of the day) and I could smell the men's room from the hallway. There was no way that bathroom was cleaned the previous night! read more

I watched a movie here with my family over the weekend. Location Kinda far away from anything. TBH this is might be the worst part of it. There was plenty of parking around the entrance Price On Tuesday and before noon on Sunday the movie tickets are dramatically reduced. Concessions Not too bad! We got a large popcorn with two drinks for ~$20. PS Only the large items can be refilled! The movie experience On the downside, the seats don't recline and are not numbered. However, I recognize that this is personal preference. The screen was large and the sound was not too loud. The room was clean. Accommodations My grandpa has hearing loss. I requested a caption generator for him and was given one at no cost. This significantly enhanced the movie experience for him. Overall This is a great deal for families or if you don't feel like paying a ton to watch a movie. The whole thing is fairly inexpensive but you do get what you paid for. read more

Go on Tuesday afternoons/ early evening. Prices ARE reasonable for a date event and snack/drink is on sale too. I will for sure return more frequently on these days. I havent been to the movies in a while so it felt good to sit in a theater. Tickets were purchased online and once inside the theater there's a kiosk that prints the ticket out for you, very easy. Looks very spacious inside too. I was expecting the popcorn prices to be crazy but they were rather inexpensive. I ordered the Tub of popcorn and a medium slushy drink and it ran Me like 14 bucks. Loaded up on butter at the station on the side. I still haven't figured out a way to get the butter to the popcorn in the middle of the bucket yet. Anywho the movie I went to See was M3gan and it was very funny. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be funny but I laughed alot. read more

The staff for welcoming and friendly the prices are decent and there was no issues pertaining the movie the popcorn was fresh and hot in the drink tasted good as well. in case you don't fine with your desiring at the movie theater there's several nearby restaurants within walking distance. The theater was large and clean, I had no problems getting in and to my seat. I went on a Sunday so there were small groups in each theater. So the experience was elevated because the group I was with was small and very respectful of others the prices are great and they have plenty to choose from in the snack isle. read more

I would leave 4 stars for normal experiences, but this review is just related to scheduling. With multiple large format films being released simultaneously, I have found it difficult to get PDX tickets with decent time slots. For example, "Barbie" is showing today a dozen times in regular theaters starting at 11:05 am, and their PDX time slot is at 12:50pm. Why so late? It's a 2.5 hr long movie already being played 13 times today, and having to be followed by a 3.5 hour movie that is only being shown 5 times today, three of which are small format. For those of us who wanted to see Oppenheimer on a large format screen and be home before Jesus, that isn't an option. Is there no reason Barbie PDX couldn't have been scheduled to start at 11:05 am like it's smaller format's first showing so that Oppenheimer could start at 2:50pm? This is why I have all but quit going to movies here, or at all. When a non-Star-Wars, non-Marvel, non-DC but highly anticipated widescreen format film comes out, the time slots it is given are almost always the dregs leftover from those other films. read more

Me and my sister were visiting a friend here so we went and saw a movie. In the middle of our movie, the theater had a power outage so we were forced to leave and they said if we kept our tickets we could get a movie voucher for another movie. Since we live out of town I called and they said they can't give me a refund and give me my money back for the tickets we paid for. I kept my receipt and ticket so I just think it's ridiculous that I couldn't have come and got my $23 back. We were leaving town the next day so we couldn't have gone and seen another movie anyway so that just makes me mad that I've wasted my money. read more

Just returned from our first outing at the sparkling new Sun Valley 14 theater. I don't have one negative thing to say about it. There's plenty of parking, the building is lovely (even has a Fountain outside), the service was impeccable, the popcorn was tasty (and free since they are still celebrating their grand opening), the theaters are well designed, and the seats are SO comfortable. (My husband commented that he wanted to take the theater chair home with him and my son said it was the most comfortable movie theater he has ever been in....and we have been in MANY move theaters! For me, what really set this theater as a cut-above-the-rest is that since they are brand new, so are their screens, movie technology, and 3D glasses design. (The 3D glasses are also coded so if you try to walk off with them, the scanner at the exit will detect it and set off an alarm...yes, the glasses are "that" nice!). We saw Spiderman in 3D and it was AMAZING!!!! I generally detest 3D movies because I have trouble taking in the entire screen and the movement is bothersome....but not this time!! There were a few first-person shots that make me look away briefly because the motion bothered me a bit, but that was it. Typically, I spend half of time in 3D movies, watching it with my glasses off or turning away from the screen during every action shot. This is a huge selling point for me! My son loves 3D movies so I will be taking him regardless, but if I can actually enjoy them now, too...bonus!!!! There were some other nice little details that are worth a mention. There are cafe type tables in the first section of the theater. This is a nice place to sit and chat while waiting for the movie to start. They had fresh flower arrangements on the cafe tables and in the ladies room (see picture), the concession stand has self-serve butter topping, which I enjoy. There a nice older gentleman at the door to wish us a good night and was handing out mints. I don't know if they will continue to do this past the grand-opening honeymoon period, but it was a very nice touch! The icing on the cake for me...the theater is only 10 minutes from my house. That's only a few minutes less than Stonecrest, but I genuinely prefer this theater to Stonecrest for many reasons. Stonecrest is always completely insane, especially on a Fri or Sat night and you need to get there an hour early just to make sure you can find a parking space and get your tickets and concessions before the theater fills up. Although I envision Sun Valley getting busier once the word gets out that this place is so great, I hope that it will never become the manic nuthouse known as Stonecrest. However, they are building up the area and putting a TGIFriday's next door, so I guess time will tell. Looks like we have ourselves a new favorite theater! :-) read more

I am definitely a fan of this theater... especially since their Saturday Matinee price is just right: $5.50. It is fairly new, well maintained, and since I go with the early Saturday crowd, it is hardly busy - just the way I like it. When I first saw the theater parking lot, I was a little puzzled, but it apparently a lot of thought was put into the plans since it is configured in a way that doesn't encourage "those people" who just park their cars in front of the theater to look at upcoming movie times. I guess now-a-days with smart phones, the times are at our finger tips, but I do like how the parking lot makes it pedestrian friendly - especially since the theater is not stand-alone. There are a number of restaurants and businesses located around this theater complex... Sweet Frog, Hickory Tavern, etc. You can easily make a nice evening out of coming here without having to travel and park the car multiple times. The theater itself boasts the typical, stadium seating... digital projection... and up-to-date sound systems. There are small party rooms for birthdays and celebrations... heck, I would consider a small group outing to the movies or maybe even a meeting here. Concessions always get me. I know it's the way the theater makes money, but I usually make a clear decision whether or not I am going to get popcorn before the movies so I don't end up spending WAY TOO MUCH just to grab a snack. Popcorn is decent here and the self-serve butter station makes it dangerous (only tap that on special occasions)... wow - maybe I need to take that out of my review, but I'm going to leave it in. Great facilities and helpful staff. I came to watch a movie with kids. After a while my 3 y/o wouldn't stay still so I left the theater to walk him down the hallway while the other 2 finished the movie. The manager noticed me and ask the reason for my back and forth pacing with my not-so-happy threenager. He came back after a couple minutes with 2 complementary tickets for a later visit. This star is for customer service. I've been going to this theater since it opened and have never had a problem til today. Called to book a birthday party for my daughter just now. I get that you get busy. I've worked customer service plenty. But for the manager to tell me "I'm too busy tell them to call back Monday" I then politely asked if somebody besides the manager could give me info on pricing, and you could hear the manager mumble something, and then the young lady on the phone told me just to call Sunday. I am VERY displeased with the management and how they handled a very simple phone call! I will no longer be going to Sun Valley Theaters for any movie. Very POOR customer service. read more

The seats rock back and forth and have never been unclean out of the many times I've visited. The best day to go is $5 Tuesday! Sun Valley 14 is a great theater to go to if you want to catch a flick around Weddington and hate Regal as much as I do. I have been here twice while visiting family and I love the new theater novelty right down the road. They have fairly comfortable seating and the theater rooms themselves aren't too overwhelming in their size to make you feel crammed in like cattle. The parking outside can be a nightmare; one in how they arranged it and two finding a spot that isn't a half mile away during peak times. The ticket booth is well staffed and the front is always clean and inviting. The fountain is a nice touch. The one thing that nags at me was that during my recent trip I discovered that they do not serve fresh popcorn. I noticed they have giant bags of already popped popcorn stored in the back and they scoop out the contents from a place similar in make and size to an ice machine. It is a big bummer to not get a hot bucket of popcorn that you witnessed being made when you pay six dollars for it. Normally, I do not go to a theater and get refreshments, but since I rarely make it to the movies now a days I tend to splurge. At 14, I will just stick to candy and a soda. read more

This place is all I could ask for in a movie theater. In today's time where going to the movies is outrageously expensive this place tries to offer options for less. Tuesday they gave 5 dollar admission and other times of the year it is 1.00 admission and really cheap popcorn and older movies that your kids may not have seen. The seats are clean, the screens are great! There is local police present but just standing by. The concessions stand is still over priced and has teenagers working it but it's there for those who dare! The bathrooms are clean and the area is great! Def worth a night out!! read more

You can't really go wrong with a brand new movie theater! There is just so much to appreciate about this new Sun Valley spot! First, they pretty much turned the whole area into a small shopping area/community. There are some great restaurants surrounding the theater. You will see B2's, Hickory Tavern, Moe's, Sweet Frog, etc. The theater itself is clean and the seats are leather, plush and comfy. The snacks are still way overpriced but that is to be expected. They seem to have a good way to manage the crowds so it didn't feel like there were teeny boppers running the show. It was overall a very positive experience! You can certainly make an evening of it and it isn't "that far" outside of Charlotte. It was super easy to get to off of Independence. Great place! read more

Days have past and the newness is wearing off. Arrived early for the movie and asked for 3d glasses. First we were told we would have to wait. Then after 20 minutes asked again and the young lady rolled her eyes and ignored us. Seconds later she started handing out glasses. Once we were given the glasses we found finger prints on the lenses and the glasses didn't feel clean. Watched them take the baskets of glasses to the food area. Wondering how they cleaned them. Lastly the fourth hand full of popcorn had plastic in the bucket . picture to prove it... Kinda think we will go back to our older theaters. The staff are always helpful and have never had anything in our popcorn. Movie was great ... Seats are nice. read more

I will be back! Living in Union County, it is about time we had a new multi plex movie theater that is up to date and spanking brand new. We usually head to Stonecrest, a complete mob scene on weekends! Forget about it. Now we can drive a few miles to this new theater, park close by without hassle and see a good movie in brand new comfy seats. Don't think that means this place is empty. It is full capacity, too, so get in your seats early or sit in the front rows! Snacks priced normally and are up to spec. Bathrooms are clean and there is a police on duty at all times. Sad but true! Blah blah blah...geeeze lady go online instead of holding everyone up! I came here with my boyfriend to see OZ, as it was the most convenient show time near us. We live near Matthews, so the drive wasn't too bad for us. As we've not experienced much in Indian Trail other than the Walmart, we were expecting a run down theater when we ventured out. Much to our surprise, the theater is actually almost brand new and there is a pretty fountain outside. This is definitely a diamond in the rough! Service was okay from what I remember, no problems but I wasn't wow'd either. The theater was clean, and seats were comfortable/ much larger than most theaters. Best part for me was the Sweet Frog next door, which was still open when the movie let out for a late night treat! There's also a Moe's, which offers a nice alternative for dinner other than concession stand goodies. read more

Sadly, this past Saturday was my last visit to this theater. My family and I frequented this establishment over the years, especially when the Monroe theater closed. We loved the location and the loyalty rewards. My Instagram account is filled with pics of my kids in front of the theater on several family outings. I work 60 hours a week. My daughter wanted to have a girl's night out. It was opening weekend for the movie we chose. By the time we used the restrooms and got concessions, the theater was packed. Yes, we could have gotten there half an hour early to get seats. However, my tight work schedule didn't allow for this as I came straight from work and my husband had to drop her off at the theater. My complaint with the theater is that there was a staff member inside the theater along with security. Multiple couples came in after us. All of us are walking up and down the aisles to find seats together. The staff nor security made any attempt to help us locate seats. Nor did they say anything to the people holding multiple seats at a time (and there was a lot of this going on.) Needless to say, my daughter and I had to sit on different aisles as none of the other patrons were willing to scoot down a seat so we could sit together. What we hoped to be a fun night out and quality time together ended up being a disappointment. You can't rely on people being decent these days anymore than you can count on good customer service. It is apparent this theater, once the go to place in the area due to its location, now seems terribly outdated. My family and friends will now be taking our business to newer theaters with reclining seats you can reserve in advance. Had Stone Theaters had this option, we could have guaranteed we'd be sharing that large popcorn together. read more

I went to this theatre with my friends and "Meredith", a worker there who's name we asked for, would not stop following us from the moment we got there, we were kicked out for "sneaking into an R rated movie" but we never went in. After that manager left, we went to talk to the other manager. We asked her to check the cameras, because we never went through the double doors, which she agreed was not going into the theatre. Since the other manager left she can't do anything about it. They kicked us out for "sneaking in" but there is evidence we didn't, she had been following us since we got there. I'm letting you guys know that I have gone to stonecrest theatre many times and they have never made their customers feel as uncomfortable and unwelcome as they did here. read more
