Although I didn't end up getting a car with Sun Toyota, Lee Sawicki displayed exemplary service in extending consistent and thorough communication on all of my concerns, was very transparent and was the most dedicated sales rep I've spoken to in the months of discussing deals with Sun Toyota. He is an outstanding gentleman and if any curious customer is reading this; despite the mixed experience I had at Sun Toyota, I think he'd be the most likely to take care of anyone at this dealership after talking with a large handful of people over many months. I found a car yesterday but I was confident Lee would have found me something had I had more time to decide, as I'd only recently been put into contact with him. He easily deserves 5 stars and if anyone is desiring a 5 star experience with a rep who doesn't include unnecessary warranties and will try to work with your budget at this major dealership, he is your rep. I hope management takes note of how he performs and chooses him for a leadership role; because if my experiences had been this way from the start, I likely would have gotten a car a long time ago. We are a Toyota family. Rav4, two Corollas. My first vehicle was a Toyota pickup that I bought at an event Sun Toyota had in Spring Hill (around 1990/1991). The great service they had then seems to be missing now. We were met with arrogance when the salesman said there was no such vehicle at their location. We looked it up online. And today I looked again. Still listed. I am not sure what their deal is, but I bought my new Corolla from a different dealership. Got a car from here on 05/19/26 and they scammed me. We agreed to 33,500 with a 4.79 interest rate. We signed all the paperwork and looked back the following morning (we left there at 10 pm) and the numbers did not match what we had agreed upon. They changed the numbers to 34,680 with a 6.09 interest rate without notification. We had already been pre approved through our bank with a 5% interest rate so we would never have accepted it had we known that they changed it behind our backs. What a headache. And such a love/hate relationship- because there's something funny going on there....wait til you hear this... I bought a Jaguar and a warranty. I went to service a month later and they told me I had no warranty - then they called me months later and told me to return it. When I went there, they parked a vehicle behind mine and a bunch of salesmen stood around it so I couldn't leave. The executive manager basically told me I wasn't getting my money or a car. So I put more money down and bought a Yukon because I was scared and needed a vehicle as a single working mom with lots of doctors appointments ... a week later the air stopped working so I took it in- Then hours later a "manager" called with food in his mouth and said it was not covered and I could not get the vehicle back ever (all my stuffs in it). They did not offer a new car. They did not offer my money back or anything. We missed two baseball practices and church and a week of work. I have begged for documentation and I've gotten nothing. For a used car you can't do the registering yourself, but the point still stands on why I paid for this if the work doesn't get completed after all this time. It is a huge time sink -- I've had more than 50 emails back and forth, and on 3 different occasions I reached out to ask about the status, and only them would they tell me last minute that there is an extra step that needs to get done (so if it were left to them, I would have had multiple expired license plates). I am now on my 3rd temporary plate. They once again recently got back to me, only to tell me that they need new material to complete the registration. And they miss the small details, too: I asked them to send me the tracking # for the license plate and they just did not send it after saying that they would on Saturday. - They added ~$4k in extra stuff like gap insurance and I had to call and spend a whole lot of time to get rid of that... they were very difficult to reach. read more

Do not waste your time going to this dealership. I communicated very clearly over hours of texts and phone calls about my budget, financing already being secured, and the fact that I did not want to waste my or my partner's time driving over 2 hours unless there was a realistic deal in place. Their stated policy is that they cannot communicate pricing over the phone, which in practice resulted in significantly different pricing and mandatory "accessory" fees being introduced in person. After hearing and acknowledging my offer I was told multiple times that while pricing could not be finalized over the phone, they believed we could come to a reasonable agreement if I came in person. However, upon arriving, I was told by the same representative that my offer was "ridiculous," followed by the introduction of mandatory "accessory" fees that were never disclosed beforehand. The final out-the-door pricing came in almost $10,000 over the listed price of the 2024 Santa Fe advertised online in the low $30s. After the fact, it became clear that the advertised online price includes conditional discounts (such as military and student incentives), which are not applicable to all buyers and significantly misrepresents the true starting price for many customers. I also spoke directly with a manager and clearly communicated my budget beforehand. He assured me that they would "do their best" to reach an agreement and work something out. Once on site, there was no meaningful effort made to meet the discussed number or negotiate in good faith. In addition, previously discussed incentives (including reimbursement for travel costs such as gas and a Visa gift card) were never provided. The vehicle also had open recalls, and the dealership was unable to clearly confirm whether those issues had been resolved prior to sale. During the test drive, we also noticed a vibration in the brakes. Despite having a service department onsite, there was no effort made to inspect or address the issue. The finance manager immediately launched into a generic speech about my loan being "upside down" and insisted on a down payment--without having worked any numbers, identified a vehicle, or presented an actual deal. I bought a 2008 Toyota Solara that was purchased brand new at Sun Toyota. The original owner took it there for service until it was sold with 75,000 miles in 2025. You could see they replaced the cabin filter or cleaned it once at 30,000 miles, this is what it looked like at 75,000 miles and this is the only dealership that served this car since it was new. I messaged the dealer, but they were unable to accept pictures so I figured I would post it here. The manager was incredibly rude and the staff was unhelpful & pushy, they also specifically told me that when they checked my credit it would be a soft pull and not affect my credit... when I checked credit karma afterward they did in fact do a hard pull that brought my credit down a little. I did not purchase a car with them (thank God) so why do a hard pull on someone's credit? Overall a terrible experience. Seniors Beware! This is a long story, but I will try to condense it. We purchased a 2024 Tacoma in July 24 in Reno, NV. We immediately had some issues with the transmission. In the shop 3 times but they could not replicate. We moved to Wisconsin in July 2025. We took the Tacoma on a one month road trip in Jan 26. As we entered Florida, the transmission went out (22,900 miles). It would go out randomly from a stop. Next day we took it to Sun Toyota, where it was determined that the transmission needed replacement. We left the truck at the dealer, but the next day they said it would be a minimum of 3 months to get a new transmission. Dealer initially denied us a loaner, so we picked up the truck the next day (we had a lot of gear in the back). We tried working with Sun Toyota as well as Toyota Customer Experience. Toyota Customer Exp told us dealer would give us an equivalent loaner so we could return to Wisconsin, with our camper. We agreed we would come back to Florida when truck was done. The next day we made a dual appointment with the Service Manager and the General Sales Manager to discuss our dilemma. Neither one met with us. We met with Noah. After discussing our lack of options, Noah suggested we look at a trade up. We did not discuss a buy back either (takes 2 months). We are in our 70's, both have cancer and dr appointments and are not rich enough to stay in Florida for 3 or more months. We fully feel Sun Toyota took advantage of this situation. They low balled us on our Tacoma because of the transmission, not our fault and still under warranty. Our backs were against the wall, we were panicking. We agreed to purchase a Tundra. Within a couple hours we knew we made a mistake. Sun Toyota will do nothing to help us. Toyota Customer Experience will not return our calls. We were not attempting to void the deal, we needed the Tundra. We were looking for about a $2500 credit to make the deal more honest. So just beware, if you find yourself in a jam, there hopefully are more honest dealerships out there. The few extra thousand dollars you made spoiled our taste for Toyotas, which we've owned many over the years. read more

Lot sticker price was more than the internet listed price. Decided to do some research and found that all of that is in violation of federal law under the FTC CARS rule. I went in for an oil change on 4/5/2025 and technician Derek A damaged my car while driving it into the service bay. I was told they would "make it right" for me but they only comped the oil change and repaired the damages. I needed new tires and asked for a discount based on the inconvenience of having my original car part damaged and having to arrange my own ride to/from Toyota while they dealt with repairing their own fault. All I asked was for $200 to be taken off from my $1200 repair cost for the negligence and inconvenience. The "management" declined my request - they never once reached out to me to make it right and went solely through their service advisor Keith L. Terrible customer service, bad experience and insensitive management at Sun Toyota. *Update* still waiting for my repairs but the service manager Danny R helped me out to make it right. My 2012 Prius needed some maintenance. I've had two full services here so far and everything has been taken care of. Sat was a very busy day but I had a headlight out and didn't want to drive around without the main light out. Otherwise I would have opted to come back during the week day. I worked with Adam and he was very helpful. He reviewed my past history and all the services I had completed to check to see what was missing. We got it all taken care of and I can definitely feel and notice the difference after having the tires rotated and an alignment done. Some ppl don't like dealerships but we've always kept up with all of the maintenance over the years at Toyota. Although it may seem expensive it has been worth it. With over 200k miles I am very happy having the maintenance and repairs done here. I brought my Southeastern Guide Dog in training with me and Adam was kind enough to have me wait in a smaller quieter space. We waited about 3 hours and then I was able to get a ride and leave it to be picked up later. I would recommend (if you can) dropping your vehicle off and getting it later. I usually do this but again since I really wanted the headlight replace to avoid a traffic ticket I opted to wait. The waiting area is big and has several types of chairs and tables available (should you want to work or bring a computer/charge your phone). They have an area to get drinks and a tv too. I usually enjoy talking with others who are waiting and learn a great deal about the area too. read more

Went in for a tire rotation on April 10th. Approached waiting in the service line about trading our 2021 Tundra in. We decided to see what they had to say. I told the salesperson that we were upside down on our truck, she said no problem. They have us drive a 2026 Tundra 1794 edition. Then came back and had us drive a 2026 Tundra limited. Told them repeatedly I was not comfortable going above a certain price on payments. They kept coming back saying what's another $100. Umm it's alot in the grand scheme of things. Anyways tell us what the payment would be, husband and I discussed it, decided we would do it. They give us the paper to change our insurance to the new truck, go to talk to the insurance people on site to see if we could get a better deal, then head to finance where we sign all the papers. Then before we are walking out without a copy of the paperwork we are told by Matt that the director is having a conf call on Tues and they will let us know if this is a done deal. Wait, what? We signed everything already we thought it was done. We didn't hear anything on Tues or Wed. I reached out to your salesperson and asked her what was going on she said she would look into it. She said it was still in the works. Spoke to a director on April 20th that said he was having a call at 3 that day to see what they could do. Needless to say 10 days after signing the paperwork we were told they couldn't secure financing and we needed to bring the truck back. We go to the dealership to bring it back and get our truck back. We have to go in to change our insurance back to our old truck and the make sure the registration was switched back. Which is a huge hassle. Then we leave and head straight home. I back in the driveway, get out and walk around the back. I stop to lock the doors while on the phone with my daughter-in-law and see my bumper was damaged. Something that was not their when we traded it in. I immediately call our salesperson and tell her we have a problem and send her a picture. She calls her boss and tells them, she tells me they would check cameras the next day. I get a call around 11 to tell me that they will fix the issue and give us a loaner while it's getting fixed and we would hear from Sun Collision. I hear from them they order the parts, we take the truck down the next day. They take us to the dealership to get the loaner where we are told we will have to pay for gas if we don't put in any. I explained i shouldn't have to pay for gas since I wouldn't need a loaner if my truck was not damaged in their parking lot. There was just under $1000 worth of damage that they paid to fix. I checked my bank and they charged me $8 for gas. Absolutely ridiculous. This would have been thr 4th vehicle we purchased from them but never again. Very poor business practice. read more

Hubs found a lease trade in Kia K5 here so we made the drive from Tampa to see and test drive the car. Sales folks were very nice and we didn't feel pressured at all. Sun Toyota falsified my income, listed me as "retired" instead of disabled, added unauthorized warranties, and rolled over $10,000 from a truck I had for just 2 weeks--creating a $70,000 loan I never could afford. They inflated my income by over 65% to get the loan approved. That's like adding more than $2,600 a month or $31,000 a year to someone's finances--without their knowledge or permission. I took my Jeep Wrangler 2018, thinking it was a warranty service, but was not and even the Radiator flush was over price, in comparison the My Jeep Dealer. I took it over there, thinking that since I bought several Toyota vehicles, that I will not be over charged, but it was more ecpensive than the Jeep Dealer. Incredible! On top of that, they changed the oil, without telling me that the coupon of $29 did not aply to my type of vehicle, eventhough I told the person not to do it, if it was not, but they did anyway and did not honor the price for their mistake. I talk to the service Director or a service Manager to get answer, but send the service advisor to call me, rather than him. Called again today several times and several recordings, since there was no answer or call back yet. So much for being a Toyota VIP custiner for years. If I only knew that it will cost me more there, I would it go to the Jeep Dealer at Westley Chappel or the Nissan Dealer where I bought it. 11/04/25 About a couple of weeks ago, I decided to take my wife Jeep Wrangker 2018 to to the Toyota dealer for extended warranty service, since I can take it to any dealer, instead of the Jeep Dealer on 54, thinking it will cost less than there, if it the problem was not cover by the warranty. Come to find out that the Radiator Flush cost me here $380 without taxes and shop fees, while at the Jeep dealer woukd it be $250 out the doir with taxes and everything. On top of that, I got a coupon for oil change for aroznd $29 cost and told them that if they honor that for my Jeep, I want them to change the oil, but if not, do not do it, but they did it anyway and charged me $59 plus shop fees, eventhough was their mistake. Now the Service Director offer me $70 credit for next time, instead of crediting the credit card, that service advisor recomnend me to apply for, since supposedly is 6 months no interest. The service Advisor that I usually go for, is not at fault for the prices or the incident with the oil, was the new one by the name "Freddy", for not getting back at me, to authorized the oil change, but since I already sign the papers before he got back with me, they cover their butt, even if I did not agree after after the fact. People do not have honor on their word this days, because I specifically told him not to do it, if it was not that price. The ironic part of all this was, that I move here from the Toyota of Fletcher in Tampa, because the service over there sucks and over here they treat me right and ended buying 3 vehicles here, but The Sienna was a nightmear, since they did not want to honor the prices they offer me for the Toyota Tacoma and the Highlander, so I can buy the Sienna when it arrived. Thank God I was able to get the money for the Tacoma, that was paid for and very low millage, ahead of the delivery, eventhough I made them put it in black and white prior to and even then, I almost walk out of the Dealer since they did not want to honor what they wrote on paper. They do not have an Honor or integrity. Now with this, they cut the legs off for any future purchase or service and I guess is time to find a new home or they better kiss my ass, if they offer me another new vehicle in the future and if I go there for Service again, I will not trust anyone but Peter, but no more trusting the word of anyone, unless is on black and white and will compare with other Dealers if it is not cover under the extended warranty I bought. They forget that I might extend my warranties over there and that is money for them to, but I might not do it there, because of this mistake and over price quote. I THINK MY LOYALTY IS WORTH MORE THAN JUST $70, FOR THEIR MISTAKE AND HIGH PRICE FOR THE RADIATOR FLUSH! They definetly lost my trust in general and they should thank Service for that and tell the GM and owner of the Dealer. Thank You! Over the years we have bought five cars from Sun Toyota in Holiday, Florida - the first four through two of the best, customer service oriented sales advisors. This last purchase in January 2026 was one of the worst. I did not go looking to trade my car, but instead was simply there with my vehicle for a routine service appointment. They approached me with a "deal" to trade my car. I was not given the choice of sales advisor, unfortunately. The guy I got was not attentive and seemed disinterested. When done in finance, he brought my car around so I could move things into the new car. He did help me put things in the trunk, but I felt rushed. He did not offer to help set up radio or anything, and when I asked about keys he said "everything" I needed was in the cupholder. Half way home I realized I only had one key. I called right away, and he promised to Fed Ex it to me. A week later I am still awaiting receipt of the other key - I called a Sales Manager to assist in getting it, and it is now being sent. In addition to that lack of customer service, I found out today that Sun Toyota had contacted Sirius XM and cancelled the service to the car I traded - which cancelled the account with Sirius XM. All accounts through Sirius XM are non-refundable. If Sun Toyota had left it for me to handle, I could have transferred the funds paid over onto my new car. Now, I am out anything paid.
