My second stay at Sun Tower, first was last year. They are consistently nice, rooms generous and bed comfortable. I had a nice king room. All their rooms face the ocean, on the beach and as a smaller hotel, I love it! Their restaurant patio is a perfect complement to the ambience being on the ocean brings. Ordered the garden salad adding grilled mahi came with 4 nice sized pieces on top, all of it delicious! Don't forget happy hour provided discounts for wine and beer.

This is my first time staying in a boutique hotel. Located right on a Fort Lauderdale beach, this is a cute and efficient place to stay for a quick beach getaway vacation. Rooms were spacious (and clean!), and the beds comfortable - I was informed that the rooms were recently renovated. The body wash, shampoo, conditioner and bar soap provided were actually quite nice! I was pleasantly surprised. The beach access is the best part about this stay, being approximately 10 feet away from the room/elevator. The morning view I woke up to made me truly feel like I was on vacation. My review would be a glowing 5 star review had we stayed under different circumstances. Unfortunately Hurricane Helene swept through the west coast of Florida, for which south Florida also received some winds and intense rain from the outer bands. Management was NOT issuing refunds, stating the cancellation window had already passed and that the hurricane would not be affecting the hotel too much (if at all). They offered to reschedule our stay only once, but we had to choose the date right there and then - we did not know our schedule so far in advance to be able to plan our next stay. During our stay, not only was the beach very windy (to the point where the sand was stinging our bodies), police patrols were out and about forcing people off the beach due to unsafe weather conditions. The pool amenity was also closed to us due to the presence of thunder and lightning. So at the end of our visit I am still unsure why we were charged the amenities fee when none of that was accessible to us - and when we questioned the charge, it was non-negotiable. Even our parking fee was still applied. The next morning, the hurricane for the most part was up north. We were able to enjoy only about 2 hours worth of the bench (hence my morning view picture) before having to check out and head back home. The reason I am most upset about all of this is yes, the hotel couldn't control this weather. But they were in complete control in being able to waive their fees given these circumstances, especially considering they wouldn't issue any refunds or were being difficult in rescheduling our stay. I would be willing to visit again, but I would be very nervous right up until my stay knowing accommodations will be limited if the weather decides to change last minute.

This place was Heaven on Earth! We will definitely be back! The food, ambiance, service, and all was incredible! A hidden gem!

We absolutely love this hidden gem! Every room has an ocean view like these pictures. There's a great, casual beachfront restaurant downstairs. The staff is friendly. The hotel is clean. It's not a 5-star hotel and doesn't claim to be, but when we go to the beach, we're looking for a 5-star experience more than a 5-star hotel. At the beach, we want a nice room with a 5-star view and a 5-star beachfront... and that's what this hotel provides. So in our book, this was definitely a 5-star experience!

The Sun Tower Hotel and Suites is right on the beach, between Sunrise Blvd and Oakland Park. Very nice location and close to Lauderdale by the Sea, Wilton Manors, Las Olas, etc. This is a boutique hotel with about 23 guest rooms. We stayed in a King Oceanfront Suite with an ample seating area, nice kitchen, large windows with full solar shade curtains that allow for great shade from the Eastern facing brightness. The balcony was a bit small, but enough for two chairs and a little side table. The king side bed was comfortable and they had extra pillows in the closet, which I took advantage of. The full size fridge was a great plus...we went to the grocery store and got a bunch of stuff that we kept for our week long stay. There's a coffee maker, a microwave oven, but not stove. We were lucky that every time we arrived at the hotel, we found parking spaces available. $10/day. Our suite (504) had two TV sets, two remotes, two individual AC/Heat units (both very loud and a bit noisy), a sofa bed, two chairs and a dining room set for 4. It was nice to have a door between the bedroom and the seating area. The sofa was not extremely comfortable, a bit stiff, maybe some nice accent pillows would help. There were plenty of electric outlets to charge your phone or laptop...very nice touch. Being a corner unit, we also had a nice view of the beach and buildings facing south....it made the place very bright and airy. Because the building is a bit older, the water coming out of the faucets is a bit rusty, so bring some bottled water for drinking. There's a nice pool with comfy lounge chaises. No gym. The big plus is the beach right outside the hotel with lounge chair and beach umbrellas included in the resort fee. Some non motorized water activities are also included, but we did not use any of them. A few things that I would recommend to improve the guest experience are: towel rack or towel hooks (there's really no place to hang your bath towel to dry properly), paper towels in the kitchen area and higher quality tissue paper (the ones they have just rip with the tiniest amount of moisture). The WiFi was also very spotty and sporadic, sometimes, the signal would just drop and when you were in the balcony, the signal was very weak. The Sandbar Grille is a great restaurant right on the beach. Food is excellent and it's open from 8am to about 9pm. Varied menu throughout the day and a great happy hour selection from 4-7pm every day. Overall a nice place to stay.

This little boutique hotel with direct access to Ft Lauderdale Beach is a hidden gem. Every room has a balcony directly overlooking the beach and the ocean. The rooms are cute, the facility is warm and welcoming and has a small courtyard pool. But the beach views and the beach itself are the real stars of the show. The staff here are phenomenal, a great team working hard to keep everyone taken care of. I had a wonderful stay and would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you Allie, Lyric, Dylan, Shane, Betty as well as housekeeping and everyone else on staff, for making my stay such a pleasant one!

This hotel is a jewel of the sea! As the photos show, it is positioned directly on the beach. It is a small boutique hotel nestled between huge tower buildings which made it feel quaint and cozy. All of the rooms face the ocean so you are guaranteed an ocean view. The beach is not roped off or private but remained relatively empty and only occupied by hotel guests which added to an already amazing experience. The friendly front desk staffer that checked us in was amazing and very welcoming. I think her name was Hollie or Hallie based on the business cards at the front desk but she gave us a whole talk about where we could find local amenities and how the hotel, beach, pool, and restaurant operated. The beds were very comfy and pillows were some of the best I've used in a hotel setting. We had to make some make-do curtains for the bathroom window that was quite bright in the morning but a morning person wouldn't mind it at all. In the south Florida heat and humidity, the air conditioner struggled to keep up but keeping the balcony curtains closed helped a lot. The restaurant was one of the best in-hotel restaurants I've ever dined at. Although the prices were on the higher side, it was still affordable and the food was well worth it. Housekeeping is by request only so let the front desk know if you ever need a room refresh! I do not envy their job because sand gets everywhere. In fact, the bathtub/shower drained a little slow which I expect is a result of all the sand the guests track in. Also, no need to pack a beach towel as they supply towels which you can use at their beach or at any beach you decide to visit, as long as you bring it back! The photos on the hotel's website are 100% real so it meets with expectations splendidly. I also included a photo of our hotel from the plane as we left to emphasize how cozily it is nestled on the beach and how you can have a small boutique hotel feel, in a 5 star resort location. Also, take advantage of the Seabobbing tour that is hosted at the hotel right next door! It is worth it! Thanks Sun Tower for a wonderful stay! We will be back!

I can not say enough good things about this hidden gem. It's perfect for a couples getaway. My husband and I took a last minute trip to Fort Lauderdale. Luckily we stumbled upon Sun Tower. The hotel was clean and newly renovated. The girl at the front desk Nikki was wonderful. The hotel only has 24 rooms. So it's quite and quaint. This hotel had everything we needed so we never had to leave the premises. Billy would set up our beach chairs and umbrellas daily. This is included in the room fee. We would always tip him for his services. You could walk up to the beachside bar. Perfect for cocktails and lunch. We did a couple of water activities, kayaking and wave boards. Also included in the room fee. Billy helped us get set up with gear and things we needed. The cleaning staff took care of our room daily. They were friendly and trustworthy. The only odd thing was my husband and I were swimming in the pool quietly at 8:30 one evening and were told the pool was closed. Most hotel pools close at 10:00. I just thought 8:30 was odd. When checking into the hotel they should be clear about the pool hours. Otherwise the stay was amazing. We will be back.

We arrived around 9 am after our cruise, and our assigned upgraded room (suite) was not ready. The front desk receptionist, Dominique, was most helpful and gave us 5 star service in looking for a room with a balcony that was available for us. She found one and upgraded us to an ocean front. It was truly the BEST ocean front room we have ever had in Ft Lauderdale and Miami. I would have loved to stay longer just to enjoy the view more. We had a mini-suite, versus the regular suite which would not have had the balcony. Room 1715. Big shower, comfortable sitting chair, large balcony with cushioned chairs and table, Lavazza coffee, ironing board. We were so close, we could hear the ocean waves. Pool was fine. Hot tub. By the pool were cushioned lounge chairs and umbrellas, but some of the cushions were flat. A pool attendant said new cushions were on order for next year, so it would be better. A shout-out to the pool attendant who dragged over a different chair with a cushion that had some cushion left in it for me. She was genuinely nice. There was also a separate section of chairs facing a wall closer to the bathroom, so if it was crowded, you would still be able to get a chair but not with a cushion. I liked the fitted towel covers they put over the chairs. It was chilly and windy when we were there, so I asked for an extra chair cover to use as a blanket. Periodically, the attendants came by with chilled water, frozen fruit. The pool-side service was excellent. Different servers may come by asking if you need anything or to pick up your dishes, since they work as a team. The hamburger and fries was delicious ($35). Chicken tenders were pretty good. The alcohol drinks were $20. I liked the non-alcoholic mango daiquiri. ' I highly recommend making reservations at Takata, Japanese restaurant at the hotel. It got packed later and everything was absolutely delicious - one of the best dinners in Ft Lauderdale we have had in over 20 years. It is also open for breakfast. I had the avocado toast which was okay. Down the street in the shopping center is a CVS. We have stayed in a number of Ft Lauderdale hotels over the years for a cruise. The outstanding service from Dominique at the front desk to the pool attendants and servers, the Takata server all were phenomenal. The room was incredible and we appreciated the generous supply of Lavazza coffee and microwave. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Conrad, and it will be at the top of our list next time we are in Ft Lauderdale.

The yellow water coming from the faucet was especially concerning and looked very strange. After checking into our room, we waited 40 minutes for our luggage to be delivered. The pool is extremely small, overcrowded with children, and closes at 6 PM, which honestly makes no sense for a resort-style hotel -- I've never experienced that anywhere else. The valet parking is also extremely overpriced. Overall, this hotel is absolutely not worth the money they charge.

It's also situated right on the boardwalk so you can easily take a nice walk in the morning, grab a quick scoop of ice cream (like 10 spots to choose from), shop for souvenirs or shirts and grab a quick diner. This made our stay super convenient because everything we needed was there! Most of the restaurants on the boardwalk are more fast casual with lots of Italian options. This worked well for our family because 2/3 of us are vegetarian. We did find a really nice upscale restaurant called GG's waterfront and it was only a two block walk from our hotel so not Ubers were needed. This made our trip to be honest. We love high end restaurants with fresh/quality food and this check every box. It's also situated for the most incredible sunset. So make sure you go. As for food the rest of the trip - for breakfast we just grabbed a Sammy from the coffee shop inside the hotel and they had some good options. Breakfast Sammie's, burritos (pre made but they warm them), fruit bowls, yogurt bowls, you name it. Then for lunch we always ate at the pool an really looked forward to it. This friend shrimp was outta this world and it's served with honey mustard which was so yummy. Prolly some of the best fried shrimp I've ever eaten at a pool. The we always got the cedar salad which was refreshing and we all split it. The only thing I wish they had more of was a nice guac - I'm talking with nice additions and super fresh / tasty. Then for diner we ate at the resort two nights - once on the upper desk restaurant overlooking the love music so we could hear it but not be in the action. The weekend nights are a little rowdy for our daughter. We were able to watch some sports on the outdoor tvs, listen to live music, watch the FlowRider and eat. The food was not great to be honest but the ambiance was incredible. Then one night we ate at the steakhouse at the property. Service was weird just felt awkward lol. But the food was good. The deviled eggs were top notch and some of the deserts. For drinks we always grabbed a South Sode gin drink from the coffee shop. If you like gin then it's a must. And at the pool our daughter lived on strawberry daiquiris (virgin) and we drank 1 pina colada (so much sugar) a day and then switched to mojitos (less sugar). We loved all the pool servers but they could prolly double the service at the pool bc people were kind of always waiting. Cabanas - we got a cabanas two of the days and it was incredible. It includes credit towards food and if you get one with a working tv you can watch tv. The NCAA tournaments were on so we got the cabanas two of the days we wanted access to the to each the games. It was also nice to have space and shade to relax. Treat yourself once day and grab one. FlowRider - WTF this was so cool! We're new to this and it was so fun for older kids. Our daughter was (8) did it two days and loved it. The instructors are so kind and helpful to those trying to learn. One of the trainers is in the top ten of all FlowRiders in the US. I did see some adults doing it but with a bad back we didn't want to risk it. The rooms were nice and cozy. We had one king and then ordered a pull away for our daughter. We do wish that they had more rooms with additional beds for the kids. Even the suites didn't include more beds. We prefer two kings, or king and a pull out and last resort would be two queens. I think they could def make the rooms better suitable for families. Construction - this was the only frustrating part to the end of our vacation. The last two days ( during spring break ) they were door construction right by the main pool and it was so loud that one of the days we had to leave the pool. Just seems like a really weird time to do construction The other negative was the main pool didn't have entertainment any of the days we were there (Saturday (night) - Thursday). It would have been nice to have some trivia, live music, or something. Also, for anyone else wondering if Margaritaville is child friendly it certainly is. They have a dedicated pool for kids with a small water slide, waterfall and activities. However, our daughter didn't want to hang out in the "baby pool" so we stayed at the main pool which had older kids and some other smaller kids. I'd say a majority of the people at the main pool were older kids and adults. Overall we would certainly come back to this hotel as we really enjoyed our stay!

Room wasn't up to cleanliness standards. Broken ironing board. Carpet had MULTIPLE stains. The building has too much wasted space. The lobby is grand and enormous for NO reason. The "spa" is nothing to see. Literally. A small room with a shampoo bowl and manicure table. The complimentary laundry room looked like it got robbed. Visibly broken washers. Dirty ice machine. Couldn't get into the gym. Daily resort fee, even if you don't use their "amenities." Oh, don't sit on the lobby furniture. It's as filthy as the carpet in the room I stayed in. At least the mattress was comfy.

I wrote to the GM Cody Bertone (at least that was the name and contact info I was given by the hotel) and not surprisingly I never heard from him/her even after 3 emails. every hotel faces hiccups. you learn to go with it. but no doors or ventilation in the bathroom. that is not hip. just cheap, tasteless and careless with zero thought for any woman. period. if you have any style or class, run, run as far away as you can. unless of course going number two in a non ventilated room is your thing.

Absolute Disaster: Lied to, Misled, and Utterly Disappointed at the W Fort Lauderdale…read moreI booked a superior ocean view room at the W Fort Lauderdale expecting the premium experience this brand promises, but what I got was a bait-and-switch that turned my stay into a frustrating ordeal. Instead of the ocean view I paid for, they stuck me in what was clearly a standard room overlooking a drab building--no water in sight, just concrete and disappointment. When I politely asked the front desk to move me to the room type I had actually reserved, they claimed the only ocean view available was already spoken for. Skeptical, I pulled up their own website on my phone right there at the desk, and lo and behold, several ocean front rooms were listed as available for booking that very night. They lied straight to my face, and even after I showed them the evidence--screenshots and all--they doubled down, mumbling excuses about "system glitches" or whatever nonsense they could conjure up on the spot. It was blatant dishonesty, and it set the tone for the entire stay. This isn't just my bad luck; it's a pattern at this crap W location, as evidenced by countless other guests who've shared similar horror stories. On TripAdvisor, one reviewer called it a "disaster from top to bottom," highlighting desperate need for renovations in rooms that feel outdated and neglected . Another described the place as "scandalous" and a "disgusting ripoff," pointing out pervasive dirtiness everywhere, from sewage smells in the lobby to entire floors reeking of weed with no intervention from staff . I've seen complaints about filthy lounge chairs at the pool that look like they haven't been cleaned in months, and maintenance issues like broken ice makers, burned-out lights, and screeching appliances that housekeeping somehow misses entirely . Even elite status guests report getting shortchanged on upgrades while the hotel lies about availability, with dirty common areas and overcrowded pools full of rowdy crowds and no real service . Yelp echoes this, with people slamming the "horrible room layouts" lacking privacy and "bad service from staff" who offer no real solutions . Long-time visitors are "genuinely upset" about the decay in rooms that once felt luxurious but now scream neglect . The fees here are outrageous for what you get--ridiculous valet pricing with subpar service, no bar or amenities at certain pools, and a general sense that the place is coasting on its beachfront location while skimping on everything else . It's not a five-star resort; it's a overpriced letdown with management that prioritizes excuses over accountability. If you're considering this hotel, do yourself a favor and book elsewhere--there are plenty of spots in Fort Lauderdale that won't lie to you or leave you regretting your choice. This W is a total crapshoot, and based on the widespread complaints, it's only getting worse. that once
