Our experience at Snooze Hotel was extremely disappointing from start to finish. When we arrived, the toilet contained yellow water, the couch had obvious cat urine stains and a strong odor that appeared to have been covered up with a blanket, the shower had no hot water, and neither the TV nor the Wi-Fi worked during our stay. The most frustrating part of our stay happened later that evening. We accidentally locked our room keys in our second room. While I fully acknowledge that this was our mistake, we did everything we possibly could to resolve it. Beginning around 8:30 p.m., we repeatedly called the hotel's emergency/after-hours number. We called approximately 25 times, left multiple voicemails, and never received a single callback. As a result, five people were forced to sleep in one king-size bed, and one member of our group was unable to access important medication that had been left in the locked room. An emergency phone line exists for situations exactly like this, and in our case, it completely failed. The following morning, when we went to the front desk, we were met with skepticism rather than concern. The owner did not believe we had called so many times and required us to provide screenshots of our call history before they would acknowledge what had happened. To make matters worse, we were told we would receive a full refund, but the owner repeatedly changed his position, making the situation even more frustrating and unprofessional. Everyone makes mistakes, and we accepted responsibility for accidentally locking our keys in the room. However, the hotel's complete lack of after-hours support, poor communication, unsanitary room conditions, broken amenities, and inconsistent handling of our complaint turned a simple mistake into an unnecessarily stressful experience. I cannot recommend staying here. Between the unsanitary conditions, nonfunctioning hot water, TV and Wi-Fi, nonexistent after-hours assistance, and the way the owner handled our concerns, this was one of the worst hotel experience we've ever had. read more

This is a hotel to avoid at all costs! In fact, it should be avoided, even if it was free! it will cost you money, sleep and relaxation. Shame on Travelocity for even offering this so-called property. The irony is that it's called the snooze hotel and you can neither snooze nor sleep in it! Seriously this property should be condemned and turned into something quality because the location is actually good but this property doesn't even deserve to be a property. I think it's even lower than a motel and doesn't even deserve one star, but it gets one star simply because it is technically in a good location . Beyond that, it is truly awful in all respects. First of all, it felt like a bait and switch, and the snazzy video does not match what the room looks like whatsoever. It is extremely low quality and the walls are paper thin and the bed is extremely uncomfortable. It's basically like camping since you can hear everybody's conversation and they can hear yours. Management was practically nonexistent . The way they pre-print the charges, it appears like they also charge for parking even if you don't have a car. It is near impossible to sleep in this place. If you appreciate a 3 to 5 star priority, you will thank me if you avoid this property at all costs . You couldn't pay me to sleep there! Do you want to book a hotel on a website from the 90's, get a random text the day before you show up saying they are going to charge you for parking when the website says it's free, and then when you go to pay for your hotel it's double/triple the price? Then this garbage, scammy place is for you! First, I thoroughly checked prices all around that area and they were pretty competitive. I ended up stay at Snooze because it was one of the lowest prices and the rooms "looked" nice. I reserved a few weeks ahead of time and it displayed $59.99 a night for one of the King rooms, but I did not screenshot it because I didn't think these people would scam me. I get to the hotel and have to check in to pay because you can't prepay on the website, which is where the scam is. The manager tells me I owe double what I booked the room for. I bring up that the room price I booked was $59.99 and they blame it on their horrific website in which they say they "can no longer get ahold of the webmaster" to have them make changes. Pretty sure I know now why they can no longer get ahold of the webmaster, I wouldn't want to be associated with these people either. Anyway, now I am stuck with having to pay these scam artists double because it's the day of my check-in and I imagine hotel prices aren't any cheaper the day of. Classic bait and switch scam. So, I pay these scammers and get to my room because I'm exhausted. I immediately notice how tiny the room is and there was no room to put my belongings anywhere except in my walking path. I ended up having to open my suitcase on the bed to retrieve anything. I had the room right by the elevator so I was awakened a few times by people coming loudly out of the elevator...which I also noticed people have left bad reviews about the same room. I came in late the 2nd day I stayed and didn't even have a parking spot. This place reiterates many times how they have free sunscreen, chairs and a rooftop terrace like people care about that...but it's just a coverup to try to make them look good and make people look past how they are actually getting scammed. These disrespectful people also talk down about and trash the surrounding hotels, saying "There is a crack house 5 miles inland known for prostitution and shootings called the Link. I cost $20 more than they do." (As seen in screenshot). As you can see at the top left of my Google Maps screenshot, The Link Hotel is actually $49 CHEAPER, so they are straight up lying all while trashing other hotels...how disgusting! Stay far away from this place as there is cheaper, respectful, non-scammy places with better reviews right next door as seen in my Google Map screenshot. read more

Matt went above and beyond to make us feel right at home on this vacation for my gf bday. To say he knows how to run a hotel the right way is an understatement. This place is a quite a misnomer and if you blink you can almost miss it. It's tucked away and very safe. Located across the street from the beach with all the fixin's and then some. Very surprising decor and quality for a little two story hotel. Booked this for our last night in FL after a cruise. It was highly recommended by friends so naturally I booked it without questions. Upon arriving it looks like a little motel in the middle of big ones on the beach. The staff was friendly and accommodating as we arrived hours before check in. They provided us with towels, beach chairs and umbrellas to go enjoy the beach which was literally across the street. The inside was absolutely stunning! The shower was amazing with the waterfall shower head. The decor was fresh and perfect. And the room key is an actually key! You don't see that much now a days. We went to the rooftop cabana to watch the beach area while eating dinner and went back up the next day to see the sunrise. I now highly recommend this place to everyone and will be back! read more

We had such a great time staying at Snooze ... it was our 5th trip to Fort Lauderdale and 5th time staying at Snooze. This time we booked 5 rooms, bringing 4 other couples with us!! Matt was super accommodating, helping with reservations, confirmations and then when we arrived, making sure we were all settled in and enjoying ourselves. Love the vibe at Snooze .. retro for sure! So easy going and chill. Loved the 2nd floor balcony and the 5th floor roof top deck! Best Thing is the LOCATION!! Just far enough out of the loud bars/spring break crowd, but close enough to walk everywhere... and the BEACH just steps away. You can't go wrong. Thanks Matt and staff for another great visit. My boyfriend and I recently stayed here for 4 nights and Snooze Hotel was the perfect choice. Daily parking fee for guests is $10 a day, which is much lower than most of the other hotels we checked out. The room rates are also the best! This gem is located right across the street from the ocean and is in walking distance of many places to eat, shop, drink, etc. The room we stayed in was very spacious, we had no issues with anything and the AC was great and kept the room super cold. The hotel also provides complimentary sunscreen, beach towels, and beach toys. Should we ever find ourselves in Fort Lauderdale again, I would definitely book here. read more

The Snooze Hotel was a fabulous find and I felt blessed to stay here even though it was only for one night. I came across Snooze while on trip advisor and even though it was rated a 2 and a half star hotel, I decided to give it a chance because the reviews were top notch. Well, Snooze certainly delivered and was even better than most so called five star hotels out here. Before checking into the room officially, David was extremely gracious and helpful. He even let me store my mom's birthday cake in a refrigerator before officially checking in. He was also flexible when it came to checking in since we weren't able to check until about 6:30 due us scheduling a cruise in the afternoon. When we finally go to the room, we were floored with how spacious and clean the room was. The beds said queen but they were almost king sized! The room smelled wonderful. The color scheme was blue and white which was wonderful and went very well with the beach theme. I liked that they had a nice kitchenette with an island. The kitchenette even came with silverware, plates and glasses. The room has benches at the foot of each bed so there was plenty of places to put our clothes. I didn't have time to watch t.v. But they had Comcast cable which was super sweet. The bathroom was spacious as well. The shower head was unique and felt great. The location was wonderful. It's really close to the restaurants and bars on las olas. Obviously it's right across from the beach and they allow you to use their equipment on the beach. They have a rooftop terrace that I didn't have time to use. However after my mom's dinner, we were able to use the second floor balcony that overlooked the beach and have cake. I loved Snooze and I will definitely be back. read more

They provide everything you need for the beach which is right across the street- chairs, boogie boards, towels, floats, sunblock. We loved that part. Our room had a little kitchenette with a fridge, coffee pot, microwave, toast, sink. They lost a star because the linens were a little rough and the bed squeaked. They also charge you 2.99% to pay for your room with a credit card. Which we were not aware of beforehand. We would stay here again. Can beat the location. The one star I am giving is for the location. It is right across the beach and the beach is never crowded. However. Cars are driving like crazyby this outdated hotel. Well more like motel all day and all night long. If you stay longer than a night your room does not get cleaned until 3 or 4pm. If it gets cleaned. We had some Peanuts on the floor the entire week. Had to ask for towel toilet paper and cups not once but three times. The pictures at booking.com look fabulous and our room was nothing like it. There is one chair in the room and the "kitchenette " was a rusty fridge and microwave Bathroom - a sink. Toilet and walk in shower. No place to put your cosmetic/bathing/grooming accessories at all. The towels are white and have stains on them that I don't want to know where they are from. They give you beach towels that have seen better days as well. The only other good thing about this place is the location. Everything is walking distance and there is no need for a rental car at all. Needless to say. We had the best time at Snooze in Fort Lauderdale. Matt went out of his way to accommodate us and make us feel at home. We booked the room with 2 king beds and a kitchenette. The room was spacious, clean, and cute with all the amenities! Our favorite part was the private rooftop area and 2nd floor balcony. It was an added plus to hang out and enjoy the sunset and sunrise. Matt provided free beach chairs, towels, toys, sunscreen etc. The prices are very affordable considering we were right on the beach and had beautiful views. I don't think you could get anything better! There was also a restaurant next door that offers breakfast-dinner that I highly recommend... delicious food and drinks. We will be back! Spent two nights at Snooze in December. While it's a great location, the hotel itself is pretty rundown. A fresh coat of paint helped, but didn't hide the need for some basic maintenance. The manager was nice and welcoming. However, he was always busy and away from the front desk. Overall, for a quick night or two, it's an economical choice. For a longer stay I would look for an establishment with a few modern amenities. read more

We booked this through Airbnb & the front desk person, Nick, was very helpful & accommodating. We were able to check in early and prior to that he stored our bags until then so that we could walk around without having to haul them around. The hotel provide beach towels, sunblock, beach chairs, and floaties for free. They also have beach umbrellas available to rent for $5 a day, super convenient. Since it was right across from the beach, we were able to get up and go. Would definitely stay there again. read more

Well Matt, Let's start with you having to come back to bring a cot the room.. YOU are the one who was responsible for providing the cot we requested when making the reservation. I guess it would have easier on you if we had not have asked AGAIN and just had one person sleep on the floor so YOU would not have been inconvenienced. That, everyone, is what lead to the distain and outright lies toward my party. First of all I do not drink ...to say I was belligerent and drunk is a lie. There was one, only one beer bottle in the room, so much for cleaning up ALL the liquor bottles. I never ever accused your staff of stealing anything. THAT IS LIE. I nicely asked to have your "executive" desk manager to call the guest in our past room.. 8:30 am is not an unreasonable time to call, to accommodate a past guest who may have left a $2000 camera behind.. a professional with customer service skills could have handled it with ease. Instead of being dismissive to my loss. The last straw for Matt was that he was called on his day off to help. Terrible that you he had to accommodate a guest in need. All about him I guess. To be fair, my buddy was drunk and out of line when saying he wanted free beer when Matt arrived with the cot HE forgot.. but that was a joke! Which absolutely could have been taken wrong by anyone, but once MR Matt was inconvenienced a simple "Hello " would have been taken as an insult. Let's start with the name of the place, snooze hotels? We came here, very excited seeing we were right near the beach. This was the absolute worst place to stay for over $300 a night! The mattresses are so old, we were up all night tossing and turning. We were unable to sleep for the 3 nights we were there! When we got to the room, the toilet was clogged, and I nicely went over to the housekeeper, who by the way works alone and unfortunately isn't able to get to everyone's room in a timely fashion, rightfully so, she is all by herself. she told me to go to the office to get the plunger. second day there, we had no clean towels, it was 2pm. I had to ask the manager in the office if our room was going to be cleaned at some point and he said yes, at some point? Proceeded to ask for a towel so I could shower. The shower barely has water pressure. When we checked out, we also realized there are many hidden fees. The manager dude in the office doesn't tell you he charges you $10 to park in the very tiny lot he has. Also $6 a day to hold your CC on file? we explained to the manager how awful the mattress was the second day after our first of not being able to sleep, he said someone would go look, who then flipped the mattress. When we checked out he tells us " we're having an issue in another room as well with the mattress. Place is an absolute joke. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here! read more

We got an ocean view king room and it was so nice, the pics are accurate on the website. We had an issue with the air conditioner on day two and it was fixed immediately. We had an abundance of clean towels which was awesome. They even provide beach towels, chairs, mats, sunscreen, everything you need for the beach. This hotel definitely deserves these five stars. My best friend and I stayed here for one night after dropping my husband at th airport. From the outside it looks tiny and a little older but the room was spacious and updated. The person who checked us in was so friendly and explained everything to us (they have a secret code to make the elevator work after a certain time.) And then told us on the first floor they had everything we needed to go to the beach that we could use for free including sunscreen!!!! The top floor patio was gorgeous! We didnt visit the one on the second floor. The room smelled nice and clean when we went in and upon deeper inspection it was clean. Highly recommend. Found this place just from renting a car and driving by the beach. Pulled in and they showed me their best room, the oceanfront suite. First impression was wow, super clean and spacious and amazing view. I spent most of my time at the beach and local bars but I loved the room I came back to. Reception was very friendly and they have free parking. They also had chairs and beach lounge stuff to take with you. WiFi was a plus and worked great. Fort Lauderdale Beach can be quite and adventure when it comes to hotels. The big 4/5 star guns like the Ritz, The Marriott, The W and The Westin are all $300 - $500 per night, which is a bit silly because it's so rare that you are in the actual room. Then there are $120-$180 1/2 star spots like Bahia Cabana, Tropic Cay, Sea Catch or Florida Beach Motels where you probably have a better chance of catching crabs from the bed than Z's. It seems the 3 star $200/night hotels are few and far between. Snooze fits this rare clean and comfortable 3 star category perfectly. It is a boutique hotel ... run more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. (There is only a front desk clerk there during the day ... after dark, you are on your own.) The owner/managers are good about keeping in contact with guests before the stay making sure everything is set. I had a late flight into Fort Lauderdale and they sent me a youtube video on how to operate the lock box my key would be in. The rooms themselves are okay ... updated 1960s hotel rooms. The type of updates that are not over the top ... nice laminate floors, clean white tile showers and nice bedding/sheets. They didn't go crazy with marble and cashmere ... but the rooms are comfortable. A bit on the modern/sparse side but MUCH bigger than your average hotel room right off the beach. They feel very IKEA-ish but keep that Florida Beach vibe. I especially love the blown up post cards of the resort from the 1950s on the walls. The location here is key ... you are only a block or two from Beach Place ... right on the A1A strip. You can walk so many places here safely and it is right next to Cassablanca Cafe, which is a local spot that all the tourists in the know go to for dinner or live jazz music sometimes. Parking and wifi are FREE and there are no resort fees, like 90% of the other hotels charge. Not paying for parking is a rare/welcome thing at a hotel and if I feel that a hotel is putting forth an honest price that doesn't nickle and dime other charges, its a great value. Sleep is a great value. The roof deck (and smaller deck overlooking the street) are fantastic people watching spots. The top floor features a bar, lounges and furniture you can relax and unwind on. Unfortunately absent is a jacuzzi ... the views would be amazing up there at sunset in a jacuzzi. The roof deck unfortunately closes around 7 or 8 p.m. which is a bummer because it would be a great place for a cigar after closing a business deal later at night. The hotel is immaculately clean for the most part and pride of ownership shows. It's not luxurious but it is comfortable and clean and what more could you ask on Fort Lauderdale Beach? I'd return if I was in the area. In the past, you couldn't convince me to stay anywhere other than the Grand Pelican, but due to all the construction lately, I am more apt to explore other hotels in the area. This is walking distance to everything, the beds are comfortable and the rooms are HUGE. All the great yelp reviews really tell the story ... this place will probably be booked when you are looking for hotels, but if it's not ... it's a nice place to stay. read more

Even though we did not have oceanfront we could see the ocean from our window. We just cross the road and the beach was right there. I really like the security with cameras all around the building.
