We spent three days and two nights on the second floor of this architectural building designed by renowned Fort Lauderdale Mid-Century architect, Charles McKirahan, on the beautiful Fort Lauderdale Intracoastal. Russel and John are fabulous hosts! Each room is spectacularly appointed with every comfort you could want! From the entryway through spectacular gardens you stroll around the pool, past artwork thoughtfully placed to the vintage bar area complete with a life size portrait of Bogey and Bacall enjoying cocktails. With a beautiful view of the waterway there are a selection of seating options indoors or out, in sun or shade, cozy or spacious, you can find the perfect setting to suit your mood. Come for business or pleasure, stay for a week or a month, this is a Superior Small Lodging property you will enjoy and remember!

Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach - Guest room

We arrived around 9 am after our cruise, and our assigned upgraded room (suite) was not ready. The front desk receptionist, Dominique, was most helpful and gave us 5 star service in looking for a room with a balcony that was available for us. She found one and upgraded us to an ocean front. It was truly the BEST ocean front room we have ever had in Ft Lauderdale and Miami. I would have loved to stay longer just to enjoy the view more. We had a mini-suite, versus the regular suite which would not have had the balcony. Room 1715. Big shower, comfortable sitting chair, large balcony with cushioned chairs and table, Lavazza coffee, ironing board. We were so close, we could hear the ocean waves. Pool was fine. Hot tub. By the pool were cushioned lounge chairs and umbrellas, but some of the cushions were flat. A pool attendant said new cushions were on order for next year, so it would be better. A shout-out to the pool attendant who dragged over a different chair with a cushion that had some cushion left in it for me. She was genuinely nice. There was also a separate section of chairs facing a wall closer to the bathroom, so if it was crowded, you would still be able to get a chair but not with a cushion. I liked the fitted towel covers they put over the chairs. It was chilly and windy when we were there, so I asked for an extra chair cover to use as a blanket. Periodically, the attendants came by with chilled water, frozen fruit. The pool-side service was excellent. Different servers may come by asking if you need anything or to pick up your dishes, since they work as a team. The hamburger and fries was delicious ($35). Chicken tenders were pretty good. The alcohol drinks were $20. I liked the non-alcoholic mango daiquiri. ' I highly recommend making reservations at Takata, Japanese restaurant at the hotel. It got packed later and everything was absolutely delicious - one of the best dinners in Ft Lauderdale we have had in over 20 years. It is also open for breakfast. I had the avocado toast which was okay. Down the street in the shopping center is a CVS. We have stayed in a number of Ft Lauderdale hotels over the years for a cruise. The outstanding service from Dominique at the front desk to the pool attendants and servers, the Takata server all were phenomenal. The room was incredible and we appreciated the generous supply of Lavazza coffee and microwave. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Conrad, and it will be at the top of our list next time we are in Ft Lauderdale.

The yellow water coming from the faucet was especially concerning and looked very strange. After checking into our room, we waited 40 minutes for our luggage to be delivered. In the end, we had to go downstairs and get it ourselves. The pool is extremely small, overcrowded with children, and closes at 6 PM, which honestly makes no sense for a resort-style hotel -- I've never experienced that anywhere else. The valet parking is also extremely overpriced. Overall, this hotel is absolutely not worth the money they charge.

There are no Bonvoy elite perks- though titanium, they didn't do anything special for elite status. The pool & service were fantastic though! We liked the pool table in the lobby but it's quite worn in :) The location can't be beat on Fort Lauderdale beach bc it's so central to everything. We had an intercostal balcony room that was spacious & perfect, and seems to have been updated within the last few years. The stocked mini fridge was a letdown bc it was broken & maintenance couldn't fix it so they brought in another, which was great but took up space. The service from Rodney on the pool deck was wonderful, he was so professional & still went out of his way to make our days great. The burger was delicious but a little too undercooked for Joey. We loved the hot tubs! Because there was a huge F1 conference (sold-out hotel but everyone working), the pool deck was empty so that was lovely :) All in all, it was a great stay -- a few minor details & quite pricey but we really enjoyed our time!

The location is a huge plus -- it's an easy walk to the beach and close enough to downtown that getting around never felt like a hassle. The lobby sets a nice first impression with a modern, upscale beach vibe that feels relaxed without trying too hard. Everything felt clean, organized, and welcoming from the moment I arrived. I dropped off my luggage at the front desk as I arrived early before the check in time. I was exploring Fort Lauderdale when i received a text that my room was ready an hour early. great! The on‑site restaurant is a great quick bite option. It's a coastal Italian restaurant with ocean views. The room itself was very comfortable. The bathroom was spotless, the sheets were soft and comfortable, and everything felt well maintained. I also appreciated the modern TV and updated electronics, which made the room feel current and convenient. The water pressure was strong and hot water was not an issue. The pool was small considering the property size but they also offer beach umbrellas and chairs across the street at the beach if you're feeling that. The gym was fantastic. Clean and modern equipment with a great selection of weights, machines and cardio equipment. Clean towels, big mirrors and monitors that were working. good times. Overall, Hotel Maren delivers a solid, enjoyable stay with great location and comfort. It is pricey but that's driven off location for the hotel collection. I'd definitely consider staying again if in the area. Safe Travels!

Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort - Margaritaville Restaurant

We had an absolute blast at this resort! We traveled as a family of three - husband, wife and…read moredaughter (8) The resort is located right on the beach unlike others that are across the street or require walking. It's also situated right on the boardwalk so you can easily take a nice walk in the morning, grab a quick scoop of ice cream (like 10 spots to choose from), shop for souvenirs or shirts and grab a quick diner. This made our stay super convenient because everything we needed was there! Most of the restaurants on the boardwalk are more fast casual with lots of Italian options. This worked well for our family because 2/3 of us are vegetarian. We did find a really nice upscale restaurant called GG's waterfront and it was only a two block walk from our hotel so not Ubers were needed. This made our trip to be honest. We love high end restaurants with fresh/quality food and this check every box. It's also situated for the most incredible sunset. So make sure you go. As for food the rest of the trip - for breakfast we just grabbed a Sammy from the coffee shop inside the hotel and they had some good options. Breakfast Sammie's, burritos (pre made but they warm them), fruit bowls, yogurt bowls, you name it. Then for lunch we always ate at the pool an really looked forward to it. This friend shrimp was outta this world and it's served with honey mustard which was so yummy. Prolly some of the best fried shrimp I've ever eaten at a pool. The we always got the cedar salad which was refreshing and we all split it. The only thing I wish they had more of was a nice guac - I'm talking with nice additions and super fresh / tasty. Then for diner we ate at the resort two nights - once on the upper desk restaurant overlooking the love music so we could hear it but not be in the action. The weekend nights are a little rowdy for our daughter. We were able to watch some sports on the outdoor tvs, listen to live music, watch the FlowRider and eat. The food was not great to be honest but the ambiance was incredible. Then one night we ate at the steakhouse at the property. Service was weird just felt awkward lol. But the food was good. The deviled eggs were top notch and some of the deserts. For drinks we always grabbed a South Sode gin drink from the coffee shop. If you like gin then it's a must. And at the pool our daughter lived on strawberry daiquiris (virgin) and we drank 1 pina colada (so much sugar) a day and then switched to mojitos (less sugar). We loved all the pool servers but they could prolly double the service at the pool bc people were kind of always waiting. Cabanas - we got a cabanas two of the days and it was incredible. It includes credit towards food and if you get one with a working tv you can watch tv. The NCAA tournaments were on so we got the cabanas two of the days we wanted access to the to each the games. It was also nice to have space and shade to relax. Treat yourself once day and grab one. FlowRider - WTF this was so cool! We're new to this and it was so fun for older kids. Our daughter was (8) did it two days and loved it. The instructors are so kind and helpful to those trying to learn. One of the trainers is in the top ten of all FlowRiders in the US. I did see some adults doing it but with a bad back we didn't want to risk it. The rooms were nice and cozy. We had one king and then ordered a pull away for our daughter. We do wish that they had more rooms with additional beds for the kids. Even the suites didn't include more beds. We prefer two kings, or king and a pull out and last resort would be two queens. I think they could def make the rooms better suitable for families. Construction - this was the only frustrating part to the end of our vacation. The last two days ( during spring break ) they were door construction right by the main pool and it was so loud that one of the days we had to leave the pool. Just seems like a really weird time to do construction The other negative was the main pool didn't have entertainment any of the days we were there (Saturday (night) - Thursday). It would have been nice to have some trivia, live music, or something. Also, for anyone else wondering if Margaritaville is child friendly it certainly is. They have a dedicated pool for kids with a small water slide, waterfall and activities. However, our daughter didn't want to hang out in the "baby pool" so we stayed at the main pool which had older kids and some other smaller kids. I'd say a majority of the people at the main pool were older kids and adults. Overall we would certainly come back to this hotel as we really enjoyed our stay!

I wrote to the GM Cody Bertone (at least that was the name and contact info I was given by the hotel) and not surprisingly I never heard from him/her even after 3 emails. every hotel faces hiccups. you learn to go with it. but no doors or ventilation in the bathroom. that is not hip. just cheap, tasteless and careless with zero thought for any woman. period. if you have any style or class, run, run as far away as you can. unless of course going number two in a non ventilated room is your thing.

Absolute Disaster: Lied to, Misled, and Utterly Disappointed at the W Fort Lauderdale…read moreI booked a superior ocean view room at the W Fort Lauderdale expecting the premium experience this brand promises, but what I got was a bait-and-switch that turned my stay into a frustrating ordeal. Instead of the ocean view I paid for, they stuck me in what was clearly a standard room overlooking a drab building--no water in sight, just concrete and disappointment. When I politely asked the front desk to move me to the room type I had actually reserved, they claimed the only ocean view available was already spoken for. Skeptical, I pulled up their own website on my phone right there at the desk, and lo and behold, several ocean front rooms were listed as available for booking that very night. They lied straight to my face, and even after I showed them the evidence--screenshots and all--they doubled down, mumbling excuses about "system glitches" or whatever nonsense they could conjure up on the spot. It was blatant dishonesty, and it set the tone for the entire stay. This isn't just my bad luck; it's a pattern at this crap W location, as evidenced by countless other guests who've shared similar horror stories. On TripAdvisor, one reviewer called it a "disaster from top to bottom," highlighting desperate need for renovations in rooms that feel outdated and neglected . Another described the place as "scandalous" and a "disgusting ripoff," pointing out pervasive dirtiness everywhere, from sewage smells in the lobby to entire floors reeking of weed with no intervention from staff . I've seen complaints about filthy lounge chairs at the pool that look like they haven't been cleaned in months, and maintenance issues like broken ice makers, burned-out lights, and screeching appliances that housekeeping somehow misses entirely . Even elite status guests report getting shortchanged on upgrades while the hotel lies about availability, with dirty common areas and overcrowded pools full of rowdy crowds and no real service . Yelp echoes this, with people slamming the "horrible room layouts" lacking privacy and "bad service from staff" who offer no real solutions . Long-time visitors are "genuinely upset" about the decay in rooms that once felt luxurious but now scream neglect . The fees here are outrageous for what you get--ridiculous valet pricing with subpar service, no bar or amenities at certain pools, and a general sense that the place is coasting on its beachfront location while skimping on everything else . It's not a five-star resort; it's a overpriced letdown with management that prioritizes excuses over accountability. If you're considering this hotel, do yourself a favor and book elsewhere--there are plenty of spots in Fort Lauderdale that won't lie to you or leave you regretting your choice. This W is a total crapshoot, and based on the widespread complaints, it's only getting worse. that once
