Alright, to begin, the staff here are excellent, professional, knowledgeable, friendly, extremely kind, understanding, and helpful. Every time I've gone in, I am awaiting the next time I get to return. The salon itself is sterile, clean, organized and holds a great appearance. I love this location. I'm not sure if all sun tan city's are this great, but I plan on maintaining my membership here. Not just for the benefits of tanning, but for the actual uplifting my spirit receives from the beautiful individuals who work here as well as beautifully maintained environment. I'm very appreciative to have listened to my instinct to get a membership here for my "sun" fix, because I got to encounter the people here and for that, I couldn't be more grateful. Many, many, many thanks for the many many many benefits I receive from this beautiful establishment. Much love. read more

I had visited 4 times this week. Out of the 4 times , 2 were excellent. The other 2 times the staff were so unfriendly and unhelpful. I almost felt like I was bothering them. It made the vibe feel really bad for me. I also wish that they had the KBL bed like other locations. STC- please teach your staff to be friendly to people (especially the staff who wear a ton of makeup). Thank you to the other amazing girls! read more

If you receive a "coupon" or invitation in the mail, and you think you will run in between errands to use it, think again. Very aggressive sales tactics. If you get passed the paperwork, which is actually very helpful for skin safety reasons, you will have to go through a looooooooong waiting period so the rep can go through their sales pitch to try to get you to sign up for a membership. It is very frustrating for someone who rarely tans for special occasions. I went once and have not returned, not only for the sake of preserving my precious skin, but to avoid the sales push. Way too aggresive. 90's car salesmen of tanning. read more

I've been going here for almost three years and never had a bad experience. Great customer service and good selection of beds and memberships. I also have left my wedding engagement ring more than twice and each time the tanning consultants let me know I had left it in the room. Very honest hardworking consultants! Highly recommend! read more

Probably best tanning experience I've ever had. Staff was SO friendly... also first tan is free and they have so many options!

I've been coming here for a long time. Today there was a lady there that I've never seen. Idk what her name is but she had glitter eyelashes. She took forever with the person in front of me and even after it was my turn she took forever to get it together. I told her I had limited time and she kept moving at a snails pace. With the new scan card I'm usually in and out but she was just ridiculous. The usual girls are so efficient. Idk if I'll go back if this is the regular schedule she has. read more

Love this place. The staff is super friendly, i normally never have a wait time and check in and get to just walk back and always greeted.

I would not recommend this tanning establishment. The staff is not welcoming or partially friendly. Bulbs were out in my bed, asked to be moved to another bed, those lights were burned out too. Asked for a refund, they said no, " bulbs are hard to come by and very hard to change". Not my fault!! (I'm writing this review on a friends yelp account) - she doesn't tan. read more

Very great services and the ladies behind the counter are super friendly and always let me know if they have any specials available. Love going there and diffidently would refer highly to others. Jacksonville nc location that is. read more

This company only care about money their equipment is never working. They would get a negative star rating but the staff really tries. Don't bother calling the local number it goes to corporate you can even call and see if the equipment is working. Company only cares about there corporate pockets because once you sign a contract you can't get your money back. read more

Love going here. I have tanning at gym and still tan at Suntan City. If they are having a specia, which they do often"l it's the best time to start. The Manager Danielle and her staff are AMAZING!!! I get compliments on my dark tan all the time and with the "instant" bed, I only tan 2 times a week! read more

Staff is Incredible and the salon is super clean! My favorite part is how well I'm am greeted as soon as I walk in the door! It's better than walking into Moes. Always pleased with my results from the sunless and there so are so many UV bed options! read more

Great salon with awesome staff members! Always clean and stocked with amazing products! Wait times are few and far between as they have a great selection of beds and upgrades are always available and discounted! Staff is knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions! I all around love Sun Tan City and the environment! read more

I felt like I had walked into a trap when I realized this was not just a normal tanning bed (yesterday 11/19/14). I just wanted to do a single session for $7-$10, like every other tanning salon. I had to wait 5+ minutes just to get a "tour," then I had to get 15 minutes of my time wasted on that and selling me on some expensive package. I said two or three times that today I'd really just like to do a single session, and each time I was told I really shouldn't because it can be "costly" and they will only let me do 2-3 minutes the first time anyway. When I finally said I'd consider the packages but today would like to just start with a single session because my daughter was waiting on me, I was then told it would take 20 more minutes to sign me up. UNBELIEVABLE. I decided that not only will I never sign up for a package with this company, but I'll never set FOOT in one of those places again. I found another cute place with great beds on Henderson/Onslow. Much better choice! They offer unlimited packages but also by the minute or by the session! They're flexible and they're friendly. I would pay $20 a session from them before I'd ever consider Sun Tan City after the used car sales pitch. read more

Favorite place to tan! Hailey and Jamie are amazing. I always feel welcomed when I come in the door. Everyone is so freindly. Super clean and sanitary which is a huge plus for me! read more

Aggressive sales tactics, you walk in with a coupon for a tanning week, it literally takes over an hour for them to go through their sales spiel, meanwhile other customers come in and you are forced to continue to wait for their sales approach to end, it's exhausting so by the time they're done you don't even want to tan anymore. And no, I'm not referring to the characteristic survey and consent form which takes all of 5 minutes. I would've became a loyal customer if it wasn't for the times I came in and they tried to sell me a membership, huge waste of time. read more

Really good customer service. People complained about the long sales pitch but i like that someone actually took their time to explain everything to me and exactly what i was getting. So much better than the other tanning salons where they just have uninterested teenagers sitting behind the desk on their phone. Every time i come in, the employees are always super attentive and beyond nice. They're always busy and beds are always clean and ready to go. I recommend this place. Definitely a higher end tanning salon. They do make it a little hard to tan without signing up for a membership but i recommend getting a membership anyways if you want to go regularly. read more

I tanned here 2013-2015, moved to Japan and came back 2018 and have been tanning for over 6 months with them since. They have improved a lot since the first time I came. The girls are always really bubbly and have awesome customer service. I have been paying $30/month for unlimited faster tanning with a 6 month commitment. I never have had a single issue this time around. The beds are great and so are the prices and I really appreciate the girls always being in such a good mood and trying to chat with the guests. read more

I've been going here for a little over two years now. I have frozen my membership and restarted with absolutely no issues. The employees are always smiling, friendly, and helpful. Are they sales-y sometimes? Yes, but that is just part of their job. A few employees even know me by first and last name and make small talk about work and family life. I'd recommend this salon to my friends! read more

I had to leave a 5 star review. I joined over 6 months ago and am a business owner. Hailey has always been the most informative, kind and professional I would want for my own business in customer service. She greets me by first name with a smile and explained everything from primers to spellbound (which I love) and every product In-between. I met Jamie yesterday and loved the way she attended to me and made sure I had every product necessary. She shows such ownership and pride. Everyone updates with a wait time, asks about my day and keeps me informed getting me in as soon as possible. Thank you all for all your hard work and I do want to include Morgan for all her hard work and kindness!! Great work ladies!! read more

I supposly freezed my account and little did I know they have been charging me for months and when I call no answer.

Please beware of this company. I signed up in March of 2013 for month to month tanning, I canceled my account in November & was charged for 2 additional months costing me over $100. It did not get refunded to me for almost a month & it was such a hassle dealing with customer service who was unhelpful & rude. I had to fax them the documents because they "don't keep cancellations on file". It was a nightmare. I decided to give them an second chance & I signed up for a 6 month package in January. The sales associate forgot to mention that I had to cancel after 6 months so I didn't get charged again because here it is after 6 months & I'm still being charged. One would think you don't have to cancel after only purchasing 6 months of tanning, meanwhile 6 months have passed. Customer service again, was rude & unhelpful. A customer should not be at fault for the mistake of a sales associate. But I guess stealing money from people is apart of their business morals. Please do not waste your time with this company, I am not the first person who this has happened to & I won't be the last. I would not give this any stars if I could. Please don't make the mistake I did & sign up with this company. There are many tanning salons in Jacksonville that have great reviews, & I should have read those before signing up with this horrible company. read more

The manager Danielle and her team are awesome. Danielle always knows who I am when I come in the door and is always so friendly and welcoming. Her team is the same way. They know what bed I enjoy the most and are always willing to help me with anything. Thanks guys for an awesome job. read more

Completely complicated and condescending. Wow! Worse than car salesmen. Super annoying waste of time. Geezus Christ! Just let people come and pay for a damn tan and be done. 37.00 for a single "prorated" tan yet she told me that it's 15 bucks PER tan. Umm, no, I'll go somewhere else or just sit with my ass in the sun. read more

I love this place. Easily my favorite way to relax in the evening. Renee is a sweetheart. Steph is hilarious. Paugh is always so friendly. And Brianna is probably one of my favorite people. I've been coming here for about a year now and have nothing but good things to say about it. They have a great product selection, multiple bed levels, easy upgrades, and very knowledgable staff who always make their customers feel welcome. I highly recommend. read more

I'm a pastey lady who loves her sunless. The girls have always been super nice...I like the fact that I can freeze my account when ever I need for only a 5$ monthly fee which can go to products I use when I unfreeze. Endless sunless tanning for a low monthly fee ends up being more convenient than paying 25+$ every time, and I spray weekly. I only use my sunless foam for touch ups. The biggest complaint I have is only being able to reach their support line when I call the office number instead of actually reaching the salon. I live far away and don't like to make the trip just to ask a simple question and the deal I'm inquiring about not be applied to what I want. And of course I'm on the phone for 10 minutes (waisted time) waiting for anyone to pick up! read more

I've been tanning at Sun Tan City since January and I absolutely love it! The salon and beds are always clean, the staff is so helpful on making sure I'm getting the best color results and best skin care. They will keep you updated during wait times and it is busy season right now so I would suggest their app and checking in online before you get there. It will also let you know how long wait times are! Awesome salon and awesome staff! read more

BEWARE of this company. I had a terrible experience. I had a girl explain to me the different monthly rates. She left out the information on not being able to terminate thee contract at anytime. I wanted to cancel BEFORE I even had tanned. My husband was deploying in 2 weeks and I have 2 children. I called corprate for months and they told me multiple times they where refunding me the money. Never did. No respect whats so ever for their costumers. read more

Was actually going to buy a spray tan package, but thought I'd try the 15 dollar spray tan to try it out and see if I even liked the way it looked first and the promo I guess was not valid, when it clearly is and GIVES you an option to buy online. Terrible customer service ‍ Wouldn't even give one star if I had the choice. read more

The employees there are so sweet, I feel like more than just a client. They always ask how my day is going and remember where I work! I've tanned at many different tanning salons and Sun Tan City has by far the best tanning beds and sunless out there. They also know what they are talking about when it comes to the lotions and I know I can trust them to help me get the results I want to see. I think Jacksonville could definitely benefit from a second location but other than that, love the attitude and environment Sun Tan City instills in their employees and salon!!! read more

Sun tan city is awesome! The best salon with the best beds. And not only can you tan, but you can whiten your teeth which I always take advantage off! The staff is always updating clients on wait times, educating them on what will be the best skin care for them, and all around just making them feel welcomed! read more

I love Sun Tan City. I had suspended my account for like 2 months cause of being a new mommy and when I went back in they were happy to see me back and ready to start tanning again. Took less then 5mins to get my accoun back up and I was ready to go great great discount on lotion too. Also the girls there do let you know that if you choose to cancel your account or just suspend it that you need to either go in to the store or call customer service. Plus most there pkgs are automatically set that they renew if you don't tell them that you no longer wanna use it plus it says right on the website too. Someone you need to listen and do your homework before accusing ppl of stuff. I give hats off to the girls at Sun Tan City!!!!! read more

Went in to do the tour you are advertising for $10 Monday morning and it was not what I had expected. A tall, skinny girl with short dark hair had given me a "tour" aka a sales pitch on how I need to become a member and not do what I came in to do because I can only tan for a short amount of time even though I don't burn she also told me she would waive some amount but only if I purchased a least $45 in product. The employee didn't listen to me, the tall girl was trying to push me into a sale so she could make money. Will not be returning, I will wait till the weather warms up and outside instead. read more

Awful. Not only do their beds suck but they lied to me when I signed up saying it was only a 6 month membership. It's a mandatory 6 month membership and then they will charge until you cancel..with a cancelation fee I might add. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! THEY ARE A RIP OFF! read more

I signed up for a membership on 1/29/17 during the 1$ start up promotion. The manager who's in charge of hiring did my tour (which is a mandatory part of their job even if you know what you want already; be patient.) She explained to me what each bed does and how fast it tans. Once again they have to show you products, I was straight up in explaining I didn't have the money to purchase the lotion I wanted even though you get 20% off all products the day you sign up. I ended up purchasing a cheaper bottle, and with that, I paid an extra 5 dollars to get a week in the instant bed (fastest spaceship like bed.) and two free spray sessions along with 30 points to use to upgrade beds when I want to. Instead of paying.Totally worth it! A week later, I'm already summertime bronze. And I only went 4 of those 7 days. And one spray tan. The staff has always been kind and helpful. The beds are always sanitary, and it's my me time every day when I go to relax. I love it here. And the 6 month contract is clearly explained that it's not 6 months of tanning. It's 6 months you must be signed up for automatically taken payments using your checking and routing number. Once you pay on time for 6 months. You can cancel, or you can freeze your member ship. She clearly explained that and I actually read the agreement I signed for, therefore understanding the stipulations of the cheaper rate. I love with it here and plan to stay forever. So many rewards and opportunities to earn free things! Definitely try it out. And don't forget you can ask questions if you feel like you don't understand something! read more

I love this place! Clean, friendly and affordable!! All the girls there are so nice and chatty! There. Dry efficient but not too pushy. I would recommend it to anyone! read more

I went to this location to try out the versa pro sunless tanning. Instead of helping me just try it out, the sales associate was very pressuring wanting me to sign up for a membership. I understand that's how they make their money but I had never tried a sunless tan before and explained to her I would not be starting a membership until I find what I like best. Other than the pushy sales associate I had a nice experience. It's a very clean environment and I was pleased with the wide variety of tanning beds and products. I'll consider a membership at this location. read more
