I deserve to be refunded, period. - This was my first visit to Southern Roots, and while I had high hopes based on the stylist's reviews, my experience unfortunately didn't go as expected. When I left the appointment, my hair had been curled, which can easily mask issues with color or placement. It wasn't until I straightened it two days later that I saw the actual results, and it was clear that the outcome didn't match the inspo photos I shared or the conversation we had beforehand. I reached out right away with photos, and while the stylist responded kindly and offered to fix it, I ultimately decided I wasn't comfortable with another appointment. I was then told the salon doesn't offer refunds, and instead, the owner, who I did not book with would be the one to do the correction. As a first-time client, this doesn't sit well with me. I don't feel comfortable going back, and I don't believe I should have to. I am not asking for anything beyond a fair resolution, and a refund would allow me to go elsewhere and have the issue addressed by someone of my choosing. Out of respect, I won't name the stylist - I don't believe this policy is hers, and I know she's done great work for many others. But I do think the salon's refund policy and how this situation was handled deserve to be shared. I'm including photos (the inspo pictures and my result) so others can make their own judgment. I always prefer to handle these things privately, but I also believe in transparency, especially when your first experience as a client leaves you feeling dismissed.

However none of those colors ended up on my head. I told her it didn't look like the photo and there weren't even any highlights, it was one solid color, not even the right color. She got the manager, who then told me she could fix it and make it look how I wanted it. She went over everything with me and again the color came out wrong, much better than before, but still not what I wanted. She also severely messed up the bangs I asked for. I'm pretty bummed out because I rarely have the time or money to get my hair done and I chose this salon because of their good reviews.

She got me checked in and I waited three minutes for Alex. She cuts good hair! Bangs are banging and my hair feels great. During my cut, three other girls were taking down Christmas decorations and sweeping and mopping. Music is nice. Smiles all around, for the most part. It's not an over the top friendly place (no hugs or fake conversations) but it's not cold or depressing or uncomfortable. Just the way I like it. I'll be back in two weeks for a bang trim. Thanks !

Turning away a client who frequents your business every three weeks over a matter of four minutes--especially when a compromise was offered--shows a complete lack of integrity and customer appreciation. I waited no big deal to me but when she got back I showed her what I want and she said she could do what I asked for. She asked me if I wanted just a cut or a styling too to which I asked how much the styling would be. She said the haircut alone would be 45 but with styling it would total down to 112 dollars. (I asked to French bangs with long layers. I decided to just get a haircut because 112 dollars for this is outrageous. I sat down and got my haircut. There were no mirrors to see how she was cutting my hair and when I was done she had me get up to show me. The layers I asked for were not at all what I expected and parts of my bangs were uneven. I had to try and not cry because I already and horribly afraid of haircuts being ruined. I paid her and left but now I have no idea what to do because there are no ways at all I can fix or hide the cut myself. I have to go to someone else to fix it now. Jaymee did a FANTASTIC job. She listened even when I rambled. She explained everything very well, made recommendations for color and cut.
