RUDE customer service in store!!! They will not give you all the details be sure to read the fine print before signing. Very SCAMMY subscription services. Cancel anytime SCAM that wouldn't allow to cancel at the end of first partial month, had to pay for another entire month before eligible for "cancel anytime". They don't answer the phone during business hours and there's no number to call, just Ai chat online that just gives you limited options. read more

I can't even give Sun Tan City in Hales Corners a 1 star review. My daughter who attends college out of state purchased a 1 month tanning package( she was told this was an option as she was only in town for 1 month over winter break). However her credit card has been charged a monthly membership fee of $76.99 and when she called to cancel they stated they would correct the error however they never have. After several phone calls by my daughter, my husband and myself we still HAVE NOT had a response from a manager. Meanwhile she is being charged for a service she never agreed to and this is illegal. We DO NOT recommend using Sun Tan City and will be reporting to BBB. read more

Do not go here!!!!! Signed a specific 6 month agreement and asked multiple times if I would have to cancel this membership, girl stated no. Asked if I would be charged after the 6 months, girl stated no. I called one month before it was done because I thought it was over and I saw a charge. Girl who answered the phone said I would be charged for one more month and that is it, I wouldn't see anymore charges. Two months later I notice I am still being charged a monthly fee. Called and asked for a refund stating exactly above and said she would not be able to. I even tried to settle for just a refund of the last payment. "Unfortunately, we will not be able to refund you but you can still tan for the rest of the month." I don't want to tan anymore, how does this help me?! Told the person on the phone to cancel my membership on the phone as I am unable to physically come in. We will see next month what happens. This place is a scam and all of their employees are full of lies and scammers! read more

This is the BEST Sun Tan City location! I went to the Falls location and the employees aren't friendly and the general atmosphere and beds aren't as nice/clean. I drive out of my way to go to the Hales Corner location. Brookelin is ALWAYS friendly and the products behind the counter look so pretty and nice it makes me want to buy something every time I'm there! read more

Love this place! The front desk employees are always sweet and welcoming. Definitely no pushy sales techniques . I used to be an avid sun bed tanner, but have switched to spray tans. When I visit I get the Novel spray both with medium color and the hydration mist. My first spray tan was free. At that visit I bought a primer and after shower developing lotion for around $50. With the package you receive and additional two free spray tans. I love the primer but could do without the lotion. read more

Hales Corners Salon, is amazing, the people are friendly, the place is exceptionally clean. All salon's are encouraged to sell their products, this salon is not extremely over the top. I am a season member who has been with this company since the beginning. read more

Tried this place out for the first time today. Since I'm going somewhere warm for spring break in a few weeks, I thought I better get my tan on! I had a great experience here. The employee who helped me was very friendly! She gave me a short tour and made me feel very comfortable. I even got a few free passes for a friend to come with me the next time! How awesome is that?! The tanning experience itself was great- was put in a "faster" bed, and I am pleased with the results. After not tanning for awhile, I was a little cautious about getting burned, but that did not happen today! The place was SUPER busy on a Saturday morning. Very popular, high quality equipment and service- definitely looking forward to tanning here for the next few weeks :) read more

My general comment regards your employees at the Hales Corners, WI location. I bought a lotion packet during Black Friday promo (BOGO). Despite your website guaranteeing simple exchanges on unopened lotions, Beth gave me a hard time about it and refused. She said it couldn't be returned without a manager signing off. When I asked who the manager was, she said "we don't have one". I found this both odd and discriminatory, considering any other STC store would have gladly exchanged it. This is just one example of many, of poor service/communication, and obviously a result of having no oversight. More often than not, customer service here is awful; front desk is inattentive to customers arriving and seemingly can't be bothered to prioritize from their personal tasks. I often feel rushed through a sale without little to no interaction, not even so much as a "hello, how are you?/ have a good day". Its to the point where I will drive out of my way, just to avoid that trainwreck. Amid covid, there are some alarming concerns as well. Front desk doesn't always wear face masks, and I've noticed their beds/rooms aren't cleaned thoroughly every time. In one instance, I noticed lotion gooped on the floor (assuming from a previous client), and in another, there were smudge marks left on the edges of the bed. I don't even bother touching the floors without a towel, because they're FILTHY. My experience with this location lately has been more cringe-worthy, than pleasant. This is not the level of service and sanitation we deserve amid a pandemic. It seems they could care less about their job, much less the company they're supposed to represent, and it shows. Customer service/salon hygiene used to be fantastic here. Hire better staff, who actually want to be there and help their guests/care for your salon. Having respect and general politeness is the most basic skill your staff should be upheld to, especially for long standing clients like myself. read more

I've been to my fair share of tanning salons and this one is definitely at the top. Prices are competitive, and they always have great deals running various times throughout the year. Their beds are clean and you can tell they're timely about change the bulbs. Staff is always friendly, always helpful, and they always ask about my day. read more

So here's my story. Went tanning today, left carried on with day off' and luckily the girls who work there are awesome! I had left my wedding ring in the booth I was in and hours later discovered that I did! Natalia who works there realized it was mine and put it behind the counter for me !!! an you imagine ? I am so grateful they are honest because that ring is a 12,000 ring I couldn't ever replace for forgive myself!! Thank you to all the young girls at SunTan city you are my hero! Keep living your life with ethics and great sense of humanity!! Way to go!! read more

I was thinking about doing a spray tan and I had seen that STC offered a free first time spray tan on Mondays - Thursdays so I stopped in when in the area to find out more about it. I had a great first time experience when a nice girl took me in to show me the spray booth and went over pretty much everything there was to know about spray tan. She took her time, was friendly and didn't try to sell anything. I left very happy and would be coming back to give it a try. About a day or two later I returned with a family member to give this spray thing a try. The nice girl I dealt with was not there and unfortunately I didn't get her name because I would have given her the props she deserves, instead we got someone else. When we went over it with this new gal, she was very snotty and short with her answers like we were wasting her time. She had us fill out paper work and got us in the system and when I questioned certain parts of the form she was nothing but rude and didn't want to answer. I had asked what DHA was since the form stated the spray contains it and per the FDA to ask the associate for more information. Since I was leery because it was a warning, I asked and you would have thought I insulted her mother. She rolled her eyes and snapped at me and answered me like I was the dumb one. Funny because she didn't answer my question at all, just talked in circles and stated what it was, not WHY there was a warning. She then tried to sell us products telling us we "needed" these to help our spray tan. Ummm, NO - just want to try the freebie, not interested in buying lotions if I don't like it. This just set her over the edge. Hmmm, work on commission much? It was obvious since she wasn't' making money off of us she didn't want to deal with us. She gave us to someone else to deal with. NICE! I left p*ssed off and found another location to go to. Next location was completely different and have stayed with it since. I do NOT recommend this location unless you don't care about the rude service. read more

My husband has a membership there since 2009 and I have been going there the last 2 years but not anymore. Went April 1 to sign up. I was quickly told that I missed there special tanning by 1 day. So my options were sign up for 2 months for $39.99 each month or tan for 1 month for $64.99. I'm gone for most of May so that was not an option and why would I tan for 1 month for $64.99 when I can go elsewhere for the same beds at $39.00. Called customer service and she told me I could tan for $39.00 cancel or freeze my membership until I'm ready to use it again. Back to sun tan city but a different location and they would not do it, stated they were wrong. What's wrong with customer service today? Will not be back. Shame on them! read more

I just recently purchased a spray tan package which included 2 visits along with exfoliater and a primer. After I wasn't sure if I was seeing the "normal" results for a "dark" level that I got. I went in a day later and asked the employees there option on my results. They were all so helpful and understanding about the situation. We then figured out it was due to me putting on lotion prior to coming in. So even though it was something that I in fact did to effect the results, they generously gave me a courtesy tan for my next visit. I would definitely recommend everyone to go there and I will definitely be going Back. read more

Great Tanning Salon. Its nice to have a variety of tanning beds from basic at a lower price point and the newer upgraded tanning beds to a higher price point. The staff is knowledgeable and the salon is clean. The membership provides you deals and the ability to tan in the level one beds for free. If you forget to bring your tanning googles you can always buy a pair of winkies that are disposable tanning googles for less than a dollar. read more

First of all I want to preface this with the fact that I think STC is clean, has a good bed selection and for the most part, friendly service. I will also include that I have been tanning for more than 30 years, and anyone who looked at me, would know that. However, this is where the problem comes in, the Hales Corners salon has the most rude manager I have ever had to deal with. She was actually unbelievable, and I have since decided that because I am under contract with STC and I like the beds, that I will from now on be going to another location just so that I do not have to deal with this young "girl". "Beth" This was not a one time thing with her either, it was an everyday thing! She would check 4 people in before me, never ask for proof of eye protection and see me and ask to see it....every time. This would not bother me if I felt like she was treating everyone the same, this was not the case, obviously. I have to also say that she was NOT the girl that I had first contact with, if she had been, I would never have signed the contract, that's for sure. When asking her if I could have a certain bed (and I had checked online to see if there was a wait) she told me "no, there is not one available" and then I checked as I got into another bed that I didn't really want that day, and yep, you guessed it, it was still saying "no wait" time. I guess the straw that broke the camels back, was when I went to go into the salon and noticed that i didn't have my tanning lotion with me, and I keep it in my car at ALL times, I assumed that I left it in the salon the day before. So, when I walked in (and yes, she is always there when I have to tan) I asked...just like this..."Hi, did I leave my tanning lotion here yesterday?" I got this...I swear this is what she said..."NO", I then proceeded to say, "Can you check the lost and found please, cause I always leave it in my car and when I got here today, I realized it was missing". She then said "Scan your card" and when I did, low and behold, there was a note on my account that my lotion was there! She then opened the door to the lost and found, grabbed my $80 lotion and ripped off the sticker and handed it to me. Without one word, no sorry, no, here it is, nothing! I tanned, stewing the whole time as I am not one for confrontation at all...and when I was leaving I asked her why when I asked about my cream did she not just look. I got the bogus answer about not wanting to waste her time, blah, blah, blah...but nothing about why she wouldn't just look in the lost and found, or why she just looked at me and answered, "NO". Tanning cream is too expensive to just say "OK, no problem, I'll just spend another $80 on lotion"...probably thinking it would be from her...NOT! I hope I will enjoy the other location as much as I did the Hales Corners one before I met "Beth". My advice to the owner? Keep a close watch on your manager, she is not who you might think she is. I have met you (the owner) and I enjoyed our conversation, but for obvious reasons I was uncomfortable talking about your manager the other day when she was "hovering" around you the whole time we were speaking, but that girl is going to ruin your business. Take that advice from someone who knows about employees, and how they can smile to your face, and completely run people off...especially when they are dealing with the public and your business counts on word of mouth. Your franchise location will never get a good review from me, nor will I ever tell anyone to go there. As I said, I tan all the time and have friends that tan also...but not at the Hales Corners location from now on. read more

First time to Sun Tan City and what a great experience it was! Beth the manager at the Hales Corners location was very kind and patient. I was trying a spray tan for the first time. She really put my mind at ease and answered all my questions. Many other patrons came in while I was there, and she knew everyone of them by their first name!! I was very impressed, what great customer service! The spray tan I received looks amazing and the room and machine were very clean. I took advantage of the free first time spray tan. I did spend $10 to buy the exfoliating glove one time use packet, to use before the spray tan. She explained the reasons why exfoliating is beneficial before a spray tan, in detail. I had no problem making the extra purchase, to ensure my tan goes on well and lasts as long as possible. Overall, I will for sure revisit this business and am considering a spray tan membership!! read more
