This place was pretty far from where I live but totally worth the drive. Just a side note, don't use the directions from Yelp because they will not lead you to the right place. That being said, I was late to my appointment and was ready to have to reschedule but they said they could still get it done for me. I was a little nervous that because they had less time, and would have to rush, it might not come out as good as it would have if I was there on time, but they are just THAT good. My tints look amazing! I am very happy with how they turned out. Everyone there was so nice and genuinely happy to help, they really know how to deliver excellent customer service. We got our Prius windows tinted with Sun Solutions after reading all of the great reviews on Yelp. The price was cheaper than some other tinting places that were recommended and they did a great job. We were given a lifetime warranty on the tint and told if there was ever a problem to call. We found a small piece of lint under one of the corners of the tint a day later. It was something we could have overlooked but it bugged us just enough to call. I talked to Scott and the first words he said were "bring it in". I brought it in and 20 minutes later Scott had replaced the tint. You find out about a company when things don't go perfect. 99% chance you won't have a problem with the work they do, but it is reassuring that if it not perfect they will make it right. I returned to Sun Solutions to get the windows on a new vehicle tinted, which makes me a repeat customer. They did a great job for me in 2010, and they did an excellent job again today. Their shop is very clean and organized, and everyone on the team has a great attitude. Scott is a perfectionist. They take pride in their work. My car looks so much better! Their patio-lounge and free wi-fi are also nice. I was able to log on to my company's VPN and get some work done while I waited. They finished the job faster than anticipated, and I rolled out of there feeling at least 10° cooler in the hot afternoon sun because of the tinting (I also didn't have to crank the A/C so high). I've been to a couple other window tinting providers over the years. Scott and Kerry are by far the most cool and down-to-earth people I have encountered in the business. OK. It's been awhile and I thought I should update my review. Since our initial window treatments we've had Scott, Kerry and Dane, their assistant, back three times to do more work. THREE! That tells you a lot about how we like what they do. We've got every window in our house that lets bright sunshine in treated now. We no longer have any bright glare issues and I don't have to worry about our furniture and our pictures fading. In addition to the four total times they've come to the house, we also have taken two cars to their place to have tinted. Both were convertibles and the second car was really tricky, but they did their magic and we were, as usual, thrilled with their work. I recently bought a new vehicle that needed a good tint job. While I wanted a good price for the job done, I didn't want to pay a couple bucks less just to end up with a rookie hack job on a brand new 2010 luxury SUV. I am pretty busy so weekends were the only time I had available to get the job done. After calling around to several other shops and getting a bad vibe, I got in touch with Scott from Sun Solutions Window Tinting yesterday (Saturday) morning. He was very accommodating and was able to fit me in the following day at noon (Sunday) AT A LOWER PRICE than most of the other places I called. From the minute my wife and I arrived Scott and Carrie were pleasant company. After going over the various darknesses of film and selecting one, they made quick work of the 9 windows in my wifes vehicle. The job done was quick and flawless. While I have had many other vehicles tinted, the experience was never as comfortable and pleasant as it was with Scott and Carrie. Excellent Job! I tinted windows for over 4 years at an Audi dealership in CO before leaving for college. So I'm well aware of good tinting practices and quality film treatments. I left Scott's this morning thinking, and even while I was there waiting- thinking, is this real life? Scott & his crew are extremely efficient and friendly. I just got a new BMW and didn't want to mess around getting a crappy tint job.. so I turn to yelp.. Originally I was looking for someone who was mobile and would come to my office and do it while I was working.. But I searched, and a lot of the tint places closest to me or that serviced the area(Mission Valley area), had 4+ stars but in skimming through the reviews for those, seeing an occasional negative review left me cautious. I did a little more searching and came across Sun Solutions... 5 stars w/70+ reviews is almost unheard of for any business(?!), so of course I skimmed thru their reviews to see if they were most likely made from yelpers w/very few reviews written, but this wasn't the case. I gave them a call and promptly received a call back, got an appointment the following day. I wasn't hesitant that it's at their house, as Scott gave me the scoop when I made the appointment, and glad I wasn't- the experience was personal as everyone else says, (which you wouldn't even expect for window tinting), and the 3 of them worked on my car and finished in less than 45 minutes. Their garage is converted to a clean nice little tint shop, they made me feel so welcome and knew what they were doing. It sounds corny but I was literally speechless, their system and customer service is ridiculous(in a good way). Read the reviews, they say it all. But i'm adding a few cents just to give the reviews an up-date and paint the picture for anyone on the fence or new to the process or perhaps that would be more comfortable with larger shop etc... The bottom line is that Scott and Carrie (Sp?) and their team are top notch. They know and love their business, clearly have a passion for it and for customer service. Sure, you can go elsewhere and get your windows darkened by some less experienced person doing the install than the person that owns the business, but here, it's hands on. And, it's all they do so this isn't a revenue stream next to car audio, it's the one and only thing they do and they do it well. Here's the story: Bought new car, need tint to keep interior cooler, but mostly because it makes the exterior look cooler :-) and helps conceal interior belongings etc. Looked around and found a few businesses. Scott replied to my online inquiry with a prompt call (seems to do most admin work in AM and then later PM, focusing on installs during the day as he is very hands on.) Had a great call and got the estimate. Slightly more than I wanted to pay, but knew from the reviews i'd be getting great product, advice and service. They were able to get me in the next day since I was flexible and willing to drop the car for the day. Same afternoon I shopped/heard back from some other shops on quotes; less $ but something seemed to be missing, it was the personality and personal touch. Dropped car at 9 or 9:30am, they worked it in to the other appointments for the day and called me at 2pm. I couldn't make it until nearly 4 which they were fine with and were cleaning and closing up for the day. When I arrived another customer was enjoying the day sitting on the customer patio, reading the paper while his 5-series got the treatment. Home based shop is super clean, very simple. Scott gave me the lowdown on films, didn't try to upsell me but did present the solutions, benefits and costs (on a future car, if needed, i'll go all out...the infrared demo of films made me an instant believer.) About 11am, Scott called to confirm that I was settled on the right light transmittance % before starting work. I had been considering two different films on the front windows. This level of confirmation, checking in and service was fantastic. He also wanted to point out that my rear defroster stripes had been scraped off in some places (this was a low mileage used car and we figured someone had done a bad move removing some stickers or something...unfortunate, but thankful he caught it and point it out.) On pickup, the car looked great, they pointed out various imperfections in the glass on both interior and exterior. Nothing major, but sure belayed confidence in their integrity, attention to detail and overall desire for customer satisfaction. Drove out happy and content and the film looks great. I've had windows done at least half a dozen times and this was the first time I had nearly zero bubbles and especially haze as the water dried from install.
