This is my go-to mani/pedi place -- and the back massages are great!! I've been to many nail salons and this is by far my favorite.

Been coming here for years and it's always been an interesting visit however I like the service and it's close to home . However after today's visit, I won't be coming back. I went in for a manicure. The woman doing my nails was rude from the beginning as if I was bothering her. She didn't soak my nails and then proceeded to cut and file my nails too short and unevenly. She ripped my skin off while doing the cuticles and I winced several Times. Then after the paid job there was spotches paint on the side of my nails and you could see the dirt on my nails underneath the paint because she never cleaned them. When she walked me over to the dryer, she gestured to her friend that she did not get a tip. Unprofessional . Nevertheless when my nails were "dry" I went to the counter and got change so I could tip her. I showed the woman my nails and expressed how angry I was in a calm manner. DON'T COME HERE IF YOU WANT TO BE BERATED AND HUMILIATED IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE SALON FOR NOT GIVING A TIP FOR A $10 EYEBROW BECAUSE YOU DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH CASH EVEN THOUGH YOU'VE GENEROUSLY TIPPED THE PAST 5 YEARS YOU'VE BEEN GOING HERE. This is the absolute worst experience I've had at a nail salon in my entire life and I wish I was being overdramatic. I got my eyebrows done by the man who always sits at the front desk. I paid for the service with all of the cash I had and did not have enough money to give tip. After he goes "that's it?" and brings a lady over. They then repeatedly asked me for a tip and I explain that it is all the cash I have and that I only have my mother's card, which is in my possession because I had to pick up lunch for my family after. He then gives me back all of my cash and then tells me to pay in card so that I can tip in cash. I pull out my card and everyone at the salon is staring. I didn't appreciate how the lady who came over was staring at my wallet while I was pulling out my card. First off, I shouldn't have pulled out my mother's card to repay and tip them with my cash that they gave back to me because I am not obligated to tip. No one is obligated to tip. A tip is something that is earned. Yes, it is a curtesy to always tip but I simply did not have enough money at that moment. Second, if you want tips so bad and expect them, how about you add gratuity into your prices. Third, I found it interesting how they did this to a young POC. I can't say that I am shocked. This incident has me wondering if they treat ALL of their customers like this or only certain ones... Either way, I am never stepping foot in that place ever again. read more

Love this place! It's impressively clean! They take cleanliness very serious here and every piece of equipment is sanitized to the T! My pedicure was very relaxing, they give you a free hot stone massage and free hot wax treatment with every pedicure! I got a shellac manicure and of course it came out great. Terrible! Ive been going to this salon for a few months now, at the beginning I was very satisfied with the service, but for the past 2 months its been getting worst everytime. Today definitely the worst, will not be going back. First, the manager seem very annoyed that I walked in without an appointment. He asked me to sit down, and he started doing my nails, he didn't even sit down, he was standing up the whole time!!!! Then he left me waiting for 15 to 20 minutes and then another lady started cutting my nails. She was rushing and hurting my nails. It was honestly very painful. Never coming back. read more

I was so excited a salon was so close in my neighborhood. I called and made an appointment, got a babysitter for my kids and I was ready for a relaxing hour and a half- mani/pedi. I arrived 5 minutes early to pick a polish, they sat me in the pedicure chair and turned on the water. They were obviously over booked. After sitting there 10 min( total of 15 by this point) I asked the lady at the front desk- when will someone start because I did make an appointment and I had to get a sitter for my kids? She said, "5 min". Needless to say, 35 minutes later I was still sitting there. I was extremely frustrated bc I have to keep on a schedule with 2 kids under 4. As I gathered my things to walk out- a lady hurried over to me and said, "I'm ready now to do your pedi" I stated "waiting over 40 minutes for a booked appointment was unacceptable and that's not a way to start a business." The first time I came to Sun Nail about a month ago, I had a really pleasant experience. I believe Jenny did my eyebrows, and she took her time and did a beautiful job. It was a little more than what I'm used to paying, but it was well worth it for the quality and customer service. I just came back from Sun Nail today with my mom, and I'm sadly disappointed. My mom and I both got pedicures; the nail color selection is small, and my pedicure was quick, rushed, definitely not worth a $34 dollar experience. I was soon shuttled off to do my eyebrows, long before my mom was ever done with her pedicure. After the sticker shock subsided from what was a mediocre pedicure, and eyebrow wax, I noticed a fine line of black hairs left untouched under my eyebrows when I got home. The whole reason I go to the salon in the first place to get them plucked and waxed. Instead, my eyebrows are still tacky with wax. One of the redeeming benefits is that Sun Nails has a rewards card, but I don't think we'll be coming back to take part in that. read more

i have been coming to sun nails since they opened. i loved it there told all my friends to go its the best i told them. well things have changed and not for tge good went in in a tuesday no appointment waited a while didn't mind when i sat down the man who gave me the manicure literally did my nails in under 6 minutes told him 3 times to slow down. he didn't. i was very unhappy the nail polish was all over my cuticles. they were done horribly. the next day i called to complain left a message and my number and. no one ever got back to me. very disappointed. will not go back and will tell my friends also. but will say the women who does the massages is amazing and very very nice. read more

Unfortunately the reviews are true. Strongly encourage you to NOT come here. They are very mean and unfriendly. I read the reviews before coming hoping to give them the benefit of the doubt but everything is true. They told me to wait 5 minutes but 10 minutes went by and they started serving other people who came in AFTER me. Only when I spoke up they seated me. Then I showed "Grace" a picture of what I wanted and she did it so wrong, I offered to do it myself and started filing It myself. She then started to ask for my name, age and personal information. She made remarks like "You are too much" "This is too much for your age". Then 2 hours later she told me she would charge me $10 more because apparently it was taking too long for her. What about my time?? She started telling me how it was her first time doing that shape. Just my luck. She then gets an attitude and starts tearing all my acrylic nails off one by one and asks if I want to stay LONGER (after 2 hours passed) to soak it off with acetone. I decided to try this place because it's new and in the neighborhood and would not have to deal with parking drama. Well, went in and immediately was told about the points program, I thought ok, let's see how this come out, wanted a gel manicure and pedicure. I was assigned RANY who was terrible. I have never experience such a bad pedicure. After the pedicure chair, 20 minutes, I was ushered to the manicure chair at this point, I thought, hell do I just leave or get a regular manicure since I'm here and won't have time, so I get regular manicure, nails uneven, finish sloppy...and then the sticker price - I guess I own it - $37 dollars and I said, well I didn't get GEL, and she said oh yes, GEL is 60...yes, well, ruined my sunday...going back to Lucia Nail downtown New Rochelle, - I should have known better...good service and honesty is hard to find...Stay away from this rip off....I would say the poor reviews from Selena and Alli and Peggy are all valid, I gave it one star because the nail selection was decent OPI is my favorite brand. read more
