From…read morethe moment we stepped into her office when she was working at her prior practice, it was evident that she possesses an extraordinary level of expertise and genuine compassion for her young patients. She even attended the adoption finalization court hearing for our son to show her support for us. What doctor does that? Amazing! Dr. VT's warm and friendly demeanor immediately put us at ease, creating a positive and comfortable environment during each visit. Her ability to communicate complex medical information in a way that parents can easily understand is truly commendable. She's got a great sense of humor and always puts a smile on our face. What sets Dr. VT apart is her unwavering commitment to the well-being of children. She goes above and beyond to ensure that every concern is addressed thoroughly, taking the time to listen attentively to both parents and little ones. Her dedication to preventive care is evident through her proactive approach, providing valuable guidance on nutrition, development milestones, and overall wellness. You don't see this often anymore in the medical world driven by an insurance cost model. Oftentimes, doctors are so overloaded with patients they are forced to rush you in and out. She spends the time to truly get to know you and your kids. In moments of illness or uncertainty, Dr. VT's accessibility and responsiveness have been a source of great reassurance. Her prompt attention to urgent matters reflects a genuine concern for the health and happiness of her young patients. Now that she's started Home Base Pediatrics she's been even faster at responding when our sons are sick. It's so incredibly amazing to have a pediatrician who can travel to your home so you don't have to worry about lugging sick kiddos around. Choosing Dr. Laura Van Tassel as our pediatrician has been one of the best decisions for our family. We wholeheartedly recommend her to any parent seeking not just a medical professional, but a caring partner in their child's health journey. Thank you, Dr. VT, for being a true gem in pediatric care!

However, our experience with this practice has been unacceptable and deeply concerning. We were dismissed from the office for allegedly having five "no-shows," without any prior warning, communication, or outreach whatsoever, outside of a threatening letter once it got to 5 no shows. At no point were we notified that missed appointments were accumulating, that we were at risk of dismissal, or that this was even an issue until this letter. We did not receive reminder calls, texts, or follow-up communications nor did we receive texts for appointments like they state. In all of our appointments, we probably received 3 confirmations... Additionally, their own policy states that patients will be contacted after two missed appointments -- this never occurred. We can only recall two unintentional missed appointments, during a period when our infant daughter was suffering from severe colic. Rather than showing basic understanding or attempting to communicate, this practice demonstrated a complete lack of empathy toward families with newborns. Mine you, one of the appointments they told me we no showed was the first appointment 2 days after she was born and we were still unexpectedly in the hospital as she had jaudice.... thought there would be way more compassion. Instead of reaching out to resolve the issue, we received a threatening dismissal letter without any prior discussion. This approach is alarming for a pediatric practice. The way this situation was handled felt transactional and punitive, more in line with a retail operation than a medical office entrusted with the care of babies and children. The failure to communicate, disregard for their own policies, and lack of compassion for struggling parents is unacceptable. Pediatric care should prioritize partnership, transparency, and empathy -- none of which were demonstrated here. Parents deserve to know that this practice may choose enforcement over communication, even when caring for vulnerable infants.

We have now been patients for more than 3 years and he sees both of my children. He is professional without being pretentious, listens to all of our concerns and presents solutions when needed. They are very busy and quite popular in this area-as I now know a few families that go there- so make appointments ahead of time. This also means sick appointments and day of appointments are limited. The medical complex it's located in is also quite busy, the parking lot is always full so show up early to search for parking. Good doctors are hard to come by so having a pediatrician this great is important.

Furthermore, my newborn had issues nursing and would take 45+ mins to finish a bottle. When inquiring about potential mouth ties I was told most people just make it up and got a referral to a feeding specialist. When I came back for my babies next check and shared she had her lip, check, and tongue ties released and was nursing successfully now I was treated like I was dumb and just another person who fell for the hoax. Truthfully as parents we want the best for our kids and have the responsibility to do so. Unfortunately it feels like this company has zero tolerance for anyone who thinks or even questions differently than them. As a doctor you should know how to conduct yourself in a more professional manner. 10 minutes after my orignal review posted the Dr called me. Before 8 AM. "Hello, I saw your review, I sent a text to our billing department and they will reach out. If you owe us, we will keep the money. If not we will refund it." Thank you for the update. It is crazy to get a bill 4 years later *side note a week later billing hadn't reached out and insurance said they didnt have a claim from this practice in 2021.* At that point the Dr did a 180 in tone, raised his voice and threw professionalism out the window. "We work really hard for all of our good reviews. You are just a keyboard warrior writing bad reviews and there is nothing I can do to have your review taken down". I said "excuse me. I wrote my experience with your practice." Instead of saying "I will talk to my team to get invoices sent out in a timely manner" you call me a keyboard warrior for writing a review about my experience with your practice. Original review: Brought my son here one time in '21. Visit went smoothly. 3 months later we got a bill. I called with questions, left multiple voicemails with no response. I finally got in touch with someone, I forget the specifics since this was 4 years ago, but they said they would write it off since it was an error on their side. May of 2025 we get the bill again. I thought it was a bill for a recent ER visit so I paid it. 2 days later I realized it was a bill from 2021 for this office. My mistake for not paying attention, but dirty business practice on their part. Years later you send a bill?

The specialist called me and said "we don't take your son diagnosis " . I was puzzled because from what I know my son wasn't diagnosed with anything as of yet. They said the referral was sent with "pulmonary edema" meaning water in the lungs. I called MVP kids and said "I'm sorry about that , would you like for us to fix it and resend it ?" Ummmm... what kind of question is that ?! Anyways, I decided not to go back. Recently, my kid got sick again with fever and ear aches and found out they were under a new management. I thought " maybe that's changed" I came to this office 3 times with fever . One ear infection and now double ear infection. I decided to get all the records and take him to PCH and they said they shouldn't have given me such a low dose (twice) on antibiotics. AND he decided to follow up on the earl infections , arbor doesn't care. I don't want my kids to have to see the dr so many time within a month. Save you some time and find something better. I'll drive far if it take someone to actually listen. ALSO, my sister came her when she was a pre teen . Was sick up and down and they kept saying a cold or strep or even mono.... Turns out she had lupus and was diagnosed at PCH. What kind of practice is this?!
