There are Sun Devil Campus Store locations across all four ASU campuses, and while the College Avenue Commons location is the largest, this particular location has been around the longest at the Tempe Campus. In fact, this is often marketed as the "main store" as a result. I enjoy browsing the many Sun Devil items from State 48 shirts to books to gifts for others to fancy button-down shirts and polos for me. They honor discounts for alumni and employees, and they even have a dressing room on the first floor to try on any Sun Devil clothing. I visited the store recently before the Winter Break, and they even had some good sales taking place. In fact, they often bring sales items just outside the front entrance. Paid parking is available in a small lot just to the east side of the Sun Devil Campus Store. If you are driving, enter south of Orange Street from Lemon Street. It is open on Monday from 10 AM to 4 PM, Tuesday from 8 AM to 7 PM, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 AM to 6 PM, Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 4 PM. There is a Starbucks just inside the entrance to the store, and several different areas within the store from the bookstore in the back, the technology store to the right when you first walk in, and then the general campus store throughout the rest of the store. There is also an active store online, where you can sign up for e-mails and get 10% off today by going to https://www.bkstr.com/arizonastatestore. Every now and then, there are clearance sales or employee or alumni appreciation sales including discounts on Apple educator prices each year. Two years ago, I recall a promotion where many products were 75% or more off in a grand clearance, which I've only seen happen once every so many years. I highly recommend any Sun Devil student, faculty, staff, alumni, or fan in general to visit this store at some point! read more

All right, so the hours through Apple Maps is incorrect for the summertime. I showed up at 10:30 expecting the store to have been open since nine, and they actually did not open until 11 AM. I had drive around for 30 minutes then go back to go shopping. Once I was there, it was awesome just like I remember it from my college days and they were tons and tons of clothing options that all different price points. Love it! read more

Best college bookstore for alumni to visit. Couldn't believe the bad reviews, but I guess it makes sense if you are frustrated when trying to buy textbooks from the store. I'm an alumni, and this store has come such a long way since I went to school. My wife and I bring our two year-old back for a spring training trip every single year, and this is a frequent stop to purchase all of the new fun ASU gear. I can't speak for it as a textbook shop, as I haven't had to do that in a while, but for all of the latest and greatest gear, that you could possibly ask for, it is awesome. They also have a Starbucks at the front of the shop so you can get your caffeine going while you peruse the shop. Every year I visit there is a complete new variety of attire for anything you could potentially want. From business school T-shirts to all of the different sports, this is your place to fill up on ASU gear. They also have a great selection for children. read more

I give this bookstore 0 out of 5 stars due to their horrible customer service and lack of care for their students. Many online ASU classes require online textbooks that students can opt-out of paying for if they can find the textbook elsewhere. A student can easily find the book online through the publisher, which ASU pays for the students to use. The university takes advantage of the students and only wants to profit off of them. Most customers are either students, parents or grandparents of student, or friends. We are here to see the campuses and we have been blown away a little bit. I was just in the bookstore and I was as treated with such disrespect and the girl was EXTREMELY rude. I do not know things about how to pay for books and get my bill taken care of and she was pushy, and did not want to answer my question. This girl had no right to be in customer service. I am doing my best to figure things out and she was no help and seemed like she just wanted to leave and not help me. This is why I don't like going in there. Both times people were extremely rude and acted like they had other things to do besides help me. This is a time where they should be helping and guiding, not pushing you out the door. Tyler was so helpful, patient, and understanding. He really went the extra mile and cared. I placed an order for a sun devil jersey and the store accidentally gave me a youth large jersey instead of an adult large. Tyler sat on hold with the other store nearby and made arrangements for me to pick up my order within 15 minutes. Great customer service and went the extra mile for me to pick it up on the same day. He even gave me a 20% off coupon for my next purchase. Awesome employee, he turned a mistake into a good experience which definitely deserves some recognition. Management should be proud! read more

Purchased three textbooks for one class in July. Got charged for four - a duplicate of one. Had to return both duplicates and THEN be recharged for that same book at $3 more than what I purchased it originally. Stealing, anyone?!?!?!? Imagine doing this to only 100 students - that's $300 extra in their pockets for just the $3 extra, but imagine if it's something more expensive, like a $50 shirt that they refuse to return. Months later I ended up dropping the class and only got a refund for two of the books. Called and explained, they said I had to show proof that I dropped the class, so I sent the email they asked, explicitly detailing all of the charges. They responded that they had returned it, and gave me "copies" of all of my returns. I am still waiting on that return, and noted that it still shows that this book is still out as a rental by me on my account. I am currently filing a dispute, and called the FTC. You can already see from these comments that there are many cases where the management and staff have cheated students out of returns and treat students like they are subhuman. That's STEALING ASU Bookstore!! Fellow students, if you are reading this, PLEASE write a review of your own experience regarding, and contact the FTC so they can gather more evidence! Visited the campus for the first time with my daughter (an online student) for her graduation and some photos, stopped by the bookstore so she could get some Sun Devils gear. Yes, textbooks are in the far back of the store but it's the tip of the iceberg. This place is so much more now. ASU apparel of all shapes and sizes (even some campus-only items that were cool to browse), school supplies (ASU branded and non), graduation gear, snacks, and numerous random items with ASU tagged all over. This place is great for any Sun Devil student, alumni, or fan. There are plenty of sizes for all age ranges (adult to child to infant) - big and small. Prices are a little lofty but there are sales racks scattered inside and out so make sure to stop there for some $ savings. I remember this store being so much smaller back in the day but that sentiment can apply to the entire campus... it's grown considerably over the past 20 years. Plenty of student employees around to help as needed. There are several registers to keep the wait times down, even during busy times. This is a great place to grab a t-shirt or jersey before a game. No Pity For the Kitty, Fear the Fork, Maroon Monsoon... it's all here. We left with a few shirts and some school supplies about $80 lighter. :) Go Devils! read more

Worst experience ever! Rented, I repeat, RENTED a digital book on Monday 8/24 it is now Thursday 8/27 and my DIGITAL book that I rented URL's link still has not been released to me. Spoke to the store manager and some of the store employees, none of them cared. I went to ASU for my undergrad in 2009 my interaction with the bookstore was never like this. ; back then I had the most pleasant experience when going and interacting with the employees at the bookstore. I'm assuming it's now under new management- and my experience has been horrible! I don't understand how they are not working overtime to fulfill these orders especially when they know students have assignments coming up, lots of reading to do, while managing life outside of school. If you're shopping in-store for textbooks, great. The stuff is definitely pricey but the staff is nice and helpful in finding books and helping you out. Buying a rental textbook online? Forget about it. Such a hassle and I don't believe they update their inventory quickly enough for you to know if you're actually going to receive that book in-store when pick-up day comes. They will not initiate in any way if there's been a problem (for example, if your textbook isn't available from any of their stores), and you'll have to visit them and bug them constantly to look into it. Their return police on text books is awful, even compared to other schools. Can only return a book 8 days into the semester, way before the final drop date. They also only offered $4.00 on a book they sold me for at $72.00 used. There is ansolutely no reason to buy from them rather than Amazon or anywhere else. read more

I really hate using the ASU bookstore! The have all these employees and everything is still crazy, hectic, and unorganized. To start, a bunch of classes have custom books that can only be found at the bookstore and of course, are extremely expensive! I ordered a book online and received an email saying it's ready for pick up. I waited 30 minutes for them to find the book after I gave them my order number. Countless people had come and gone by the time I actually got my book. They made the process that is supposed to make the buy/pickup of the books easier and made it such a hassle. read more

Very unhappy with how I was treated at the Tempe Campus bookstore. Bought a USB to mini-USB cord there two days ago. There was no sticker or anything on the packaging that said the product was non refundable. Well the cord sucks. Sometimes isn't even recognized by my iPod and when it does it recharges at such an incredibly slow rate it's laughable. So I take it back into the store and ask for a refund. I'm told they don't accept returns on these items. I ask where is that in writing, and the employee runs off to the electronic section of the store to go look at the product and talk to another employee. Later they both go in the back room. Then he comes back to me, points to the section of my receipt that says "Other restrictions may apply" and tells me that there were stickers on the packaging that said "No refunds". I reply "Really, can I go look?" and he's just quiet. Well his buddy is over in the electronics section putting the stickers on right at that minute! I can understand a stores need to resell an item if it's returned, but don't lie to me that there was a no refunds sticker on the packaging when there clearly wasn't. Extremely unhappy at ASU and their bookstore personal. Manager offered to give me another cord, but would not give me my cash back. That makes NO SENSE. You're still out of the money either way! Everything is over priced. Not organized at all. I ordered and paid online and my books weren't ready before I had classes and needed them. When they finally told me my full order was ready I got there and they said that two books somehow got cancelled because they didn't have them in store but when I looked for them they were still there in the store and I had to bring it over to them to show them. I got home and opened the rest of my package to find that they had gotten my entire order wrong except for the two books that I had grabbed myself. Waiting for them to open tomorrow to see what can be done about it. Terrible experience never going with them again! The only thing they ever offered was convenience based on location but this was far from convenient. Stick with Amazon. read more

The problem started with an online order. This original online order was placed on December 8th 2020. After a week with the order still being processed I called the asu bookstore to inquire on why it had not yet been shipped. The associate who answered the phone replied that the item was still being processed and that they could not in fact check to see if they even had it in stock. After having this conversation I went to the bookstore myself and there was not a size large in store which had been the size I ordered. The employees could not check inventory to see if they had any larges. After that disappointing news and Christmas approaching I decided to get a medium instead (the only size that was actually in store) and return the online order due to the inefficiency of the store and its system. Finally I had a physical item to give for Christmas instead of a seemingly never ending processing notification. After Christmas this brings us to the return. The item was in fact supposed to be a large so we went to exchange the medium size. Upon entering the store we were pointed to a associate for the return/exchange. After having a quick conversation and having to physically go and look if there was a large (this should have been in a inventory database and or checked on by the actual employee) we discovered that they did not have a large in store. When asked about ordering it online I was told I had to return the item and order it online. There was no way to exchange for online without creating a whole new purchase.(What??? What retailer's system can not do exchanges for online?). FINALLY, I asked for a manager which turns out to be a man sitting back watching this whole conversation going down without helping. He comes up and after inquiring about the original issue with processing and the store having no idea if the item was in stock to ship or will ever be in stock to ship for that matter he replies that that is a normal thing for retailers. NO, that is not a normal thing for retailers. Any retailer not in the Stone Age would have a system of inventory allowing them to see where and what size they have in stock. For instance, this item was lululemon and my previous experience with them tells me that an employee could check what's in stock around the entire United States. I do want to make it clear this is a manager who can not check the inventory of their own store. This managers name may have been Nathan but I have a suspicious feeling he never logged out from the original associates computer. (He was kinda tall with long hair). So let me summarize the issues. First do not sell an item you have no idea if you even have. Second have an inventory system where you can actually see where and what you have in stock. Third have managers that actually know what is going on inside your store. These are simple things that make a good retailer. I bought a textbook for a class I was taking and then decided to drop the class. I tried to take the textbook back that was new and still wrapped in plastic. They told me the book was nonrefundable, and that I had bought it on the last day to return any books. However, no one informed me while I was buying the books that I would be unable to return the books. Now I am out $180, and not treated very nicely by the staff at the bookstore. If I could give this store 0 stars I would. I would not recommend buying books from here as apparently you only have 1 week from when school starts to return the books if you decide you do not need them. I will only buy textbooks from Amazon or Chegg in the future. read more

The staff is mostly college students that are extremely savvy with the computer checkout and return registers. I had two returns and had to wait about 5 minutes before they could find someone that knew how to do a return. The good thing was they were have a 25% off sale and I was just exchanged two shirts for different sizes so I got extra cash back! The book store is owned by efollet which is okay I guess. The clothes are reasonably priced and the books are expensive like any college bookstore.They do have a good selection of apparel and hats. It is a good place to start if you are looking for official ASU gear. read more

I always buy my textbooks at the ASU bookstore. I have always been greeted with big smiles when I walk in and there are plenty of employees that are more than happy to walk around with you to help navigate the maze and find what you are looking for, double check the ISBN numbers, etc. I also appreciate that at the checkout they are really diligent about offering the option to rent certain books (only some can be rented rather than bought), you can save a lot by renting books, just bring them back at the end of the semester. I have also ordered items online before from the ASU bookstore and had them shipped to family across the country and found the process to be easy and everything arrived quickly and packaged nicely. read more
