A beautiful bookshop and flower shop. Seriously, this place is what dreams are made of! Whether you're looking for a new book or a bouquet, Wijaya is a great place to buy a gift for someone or to treat yourself. I've visited a couple times now, but on my most recent visit, I attended one of their ticketed flower bouquet making events. You can find a wide range of artsy book-related or flower-related events on their website. For this class, it was learning how to make a spiral bouquet. It was so fun learning this technique and leaving with a a bouquet that I had designed! Also, the owner is super kind and her patience and help with me while I made my bouquet was greatly appreciated. Can't wait to try another class! read more

Absolutely quaint small business bookshop hidden behind the Mexican restaurant next door. I walked in blind, super excited to visit since it's a woman-owned business in my city. I was immediately greeted by a young friendly woman at the front who left me to peruse the store. There's a selection of books for everyone, with sections for various genres housed on the east wall and within their bookcases and tables. I love the idea of a blind date with a book, and they had no shortage of options! There's a small area containing tees and other merch and, even tho I'm not a big sci-fi fan, I loved the setup they had for the genre! What I hadn't anticipated was the section that had the Sweet Valley Twins books! The nostalgia was HEAVY let me tell you! :) Regardless of how small the store seemed, they do an amazing job of packing in the books and I was impressed that there's literally every type of genre you could want there. Adding to the great vibes are the comfy sitting areas with plush seating, an old typewriter you can crank out 'hellos' to future visitors on, and plants and decor that add charm to some mid century modern furniture. What makes this place so unique though is the assortment of fresh flowers in the back and the flower workshops they hold each week. I haven't gone to one yet, but I plan on it, they look really cool! I highly recommend Wijaya House to any book lover, but especially those that prefer the locally owned to the big box store. I'm planning my next visit soon. :) read more

It's a bit hard to spot so just look for the little shop to the west of Garcia's. There's a small parking area up front but you can easily walk over if you park to the east of Garcia's. They're also Asian-owned! Flower arrangement classes are offered every Saturday for a fee. I think I need to wrangle some friends and take a class! read more

I stopped by Wijaya House, a bookstore/flowershop after hearing so many amazing things about it! Upon arrival, I must admit I had a really hard time finding it, but soon realized I needed to follow the directions on the chalkboard sign just outside on the patio of a Mexican restaurant! Once inside, I fell in love with the cozy atmosphere, surrounded by books, bookish items, coffee, and beautiful flowers. I introduced myself to the owner, Melati, who was just so lovely. We chatted books and I told her I loved how quaint and charming her spot was and that I can see myself visiting often! read more

Love this hidden gem and highly recommend stopping by. It's a small bookshop with a LOT to offer. At every turn there's nooks and crannies of books and gifts to shop, including the mystery books section which makes a great gift. They have a cozy seating area which felt very welcoming, they have a coffee bar (limited options but still great), and you can also buy fresh flowers. Highly suggest following on Instagram because they have a very consistent rotation of small events -- such as crafts to try and book clubs. This is such a cute local bookstore. Snuggled right against Garcia's, it has its own parking lot which is convenient. There were many different genres to choose from, which is always nice. They also have beautiful flowers to make the perfect floral arrangements for personalized gifts, or yourself. The owner was in and we had a talk about floral arrangements and she mentioned she does workshops there, which sounds awesome. The owner was super friendly and cracked me up. They also allow for private bookclub meetings. They happened to have a free book swap today when I showed up where you can pick a book and leave a book. If I lived in the area, I'd be back often. Love our walk in craft time! Made a frog and toad v-day card and even picked up a frog and toad book for the kids! They were amazing, warm and so helpful there! Could have spent a ton of time just unwinding with crafts, browsing books and picking out flowers. read more

The shop is small but has great selections. The girl there was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. The seating area was very comfortable and I liked that they had classic books but with a more modern cover. It is a great way to get young readers interested in these classics. They have a good selection on mystery books and if you end up with a book you already own you can bring it back within 3 days. Beautiful flower shop/wonderful bookstore!! This is our second time visiting the Wijaya House, both times delightful. I purchased an autumnal floral arrangement (small) and it was perfect, the same could be said for the first time I purchased. I bought the loveliest books, which was difficult because there were so many options of great stories to choose, displayed beautifully with handwritten summaries of the books exhibited. A visual feast and a treasure chest of options for the bibliophile in your family. Although we are over an hour away, it is always a treat to make our way to this community treasure! read more
