I first went to them in 2021 for my Chevy Malibu -- the tint looked great and held up perfectly through when I sold the car in 2024. Most recently, they tinted my Tesla Model Y. As many Tesla owners know, the glass roof causes serious heat buildup due to the glass roof and greenhouse effect. The team recommended ceramic tint and a light, nearly invisible windshield tint to help keep the car cooler. They were right -- the difference is noticeable both while driving and when parked. I had a small issue with the windshield tint (a manufacturer defect, not their fault), and they got me in the next day to fix it under the lifetime warranty -- quick and hassle-free. Alex and Travis worked on my car. I didn't have anyone picking me up that day and I had an appointment at 1:00. Here are the things I TRULY like about them: 1) the lifetime warranty. Okay, granted, I'm always skeptical when I see the word "lifetime" preceding "warranty" because you already know that the warranter is going to do absolutely everything possible to get out of having to make good on said warranty, but ideally, it will simply be one of those selling points that I can use whenever I do decide to sell my car down the road. 2) I trust the company. I found other places out there that did the work for around $50 less and I had *really* bad feelings about the shops. It's always a gamble with any shop, but unlike some of the others I looked at, I didn't feel that Alex was "working while high" and I felt as though I could ask him anything about tinting and he'd have a good answer. 3) I also needed a referral to have something else done on my car and they had that as well. I bring this up only because 1) I used and liked his referral, 2) he knew more than one place to refer me to and 3) it shows that he isn't "new" to the industry, finding decent referrals takes a bit of time to establish (especially more than 1, and he said he got them because they were former clients). 4) all I can say is WOW!!! My car looks, and feels like a whole new car!!! I only wish I had done this MONTHS ago!!! Alex warned me that it would "bubble" a little bit till it set, and it did only a tiny bit on that first day. After that though...nothing at all! Okay, on to a couple of minor gripes that in no way changed my positive rating: 1) I had a same day appointment (that's how accommodating they are) for 1 pm. When I got there, I was told that there was only 1 car ahead of me. I was stuck just waiting for my car at the shop because I didn't have a ride. No biggie, I'll just watch tv from my phone. Plus they have all sorts of free water onsite. Just as my car was "supposed" to go up I was told a "rush job" came in (rush window tints?? Oh-kaaaayyy???) but I would be next. Now, I have tv on my phone, I can watch anything from my tv that's I'd watch at home so I'm not super worried about that part- however, I'm currently on SSDI due to some major health issues and severe chronic pain issues I deal with. At the 1.5 hour mark (even the 1 hr Mark), those chairs were REALLY starting to get to my body. I try to avoid taking pain meds while I'm out because of the whole driving thing, but then it becomes a catch 22- the pain will affect the driving more. Unfortunately, 2 pain pills and 1 hour after the job was originally supposedly finish, I was out. To me, this set back is mild on the scale of things because a. Shit happens- I was a same day walk-in myself b. It was only one hour, which went by fairly quick. Travis did a good job keeping me entertained once Netflix stopped doing its job. 2) why can't we tip over the pos??? The tip felt pretty awkward!!! I left it with Travis, hopefully it found its way to Alex, but I didn't have cash and by the time I would have left and come back, Alex would have left and the store probably would have closed for the night. I dunno, it was just awkward for me. I'd love something like that to be a bit smoother. Not to mention the fact that with covid these days people are being encouraged NOT to carry cash. My final thoughts: Would I use them again? Abso-freaking-lutely!! Would I send my family through them? Yes, yes and YES! I fact, I don't know that I'd send family anywhere else. Am I happy with the job? So far, it was done exceptionally well!! Strict rule- no kids in my car lol. Do you feel like they tried to up-sell you? As a matter of fact, that's one area I felt like they were incredibly honest! Especially in checking around. I looked at them before covid trying to have the windows taken care of and what the person at this shop recommended back in feb/early March (totally different person) and what he recommended this time were the EXACT same thing!!! If I wanted to go higher it would most certainly have been my own doing and not theirs. I would at least add them to your list of vendors to have a look at. Happy hunting!! read more

After purchasing my new car I HAD to find someone to tint the windows. (Sometimes I like to stuff my face in the car and don't want people staring in at me... okay? ;P) I called around a couple places to get quotes. Only one other person (out in Escondido) even came close to the same price. Pretty much everyone else around Carlsbad/Encinitas was $50+ more and said they could't get me in for 2 weeks. Going back to my face stuffing comment above, I wanted to have it done ASAP. Mike and his team were able to squeeze me in literally the day after I called and even offered to let me come in the same day! Wow! Now that is some great customer service. I walked in and was greeted by Mike, the owner, and he walked me through all of my different options and even took me out in the parking lot to show me what it would look like on a car that was done. I had to get back to work while they completed it and Mike even offered me a ride, although I ended up taking an Uber for different reasons... But a super nice gesture none the less. The overall quality was great and I didn't even see 1 bubble like I have on past tint jobs from other places. I was referred to Sun Coast by a friend that works for Lexus. I called Sun Coast for a quote which I received and had a few questions about what should be tinted and if it's tinted or factory. I was told I could bring it by to determine what I wanted to do and to make an appointment for installation. When I arrived, Gabe was at the front desk. Sun Coast tinted my last two cars and I should have brought my 2018 Audi Q7 to them first. Had it tinted by some guy the powdering coating place used when I got my wheels done to save time. Big mistake. Brought my Q7 to Martin and Alex who removed the horrible job the prior guy did and did their usual amazing work. They even put 3M Crystalline on the panoramic moon roof to cut the heat. Panoramic moon roofs are nice but it's like a greenhouse. Don't go anywhere else!! These guys are pros and know their stuff. Cleanest tint in North County hands down. read more
