On July 21st, I stopped by the "My Yard Center" to advise them that they were displaying the…read moreAmerican Flag incorrectly. The two other flags shown should NEVER have been flown ABOVE the American Flag. Unfortunately, they were closed. I returned August 8th on a "Courtesy Call" to inform them that someone displayed their flags inappropriately. I was told that they were forced to fly the American Flag at half-staff for Lindsey Graham, and, due to mechanical problems with the flagpoles, they flew it as pictured. I mentioned then they should not have been flown ABOVE the American Flag. (By the way, the Lindsey Graham half-staff Presidential proclamation and State order was from July 12th until 6:00 P.M. July 18th and had already expired when I took their picture on July 21st.) My "Courtesy Call" was to provide the Nursery with a Pamphlet "How to Respect and Display OUR FLAG", published by the U.S. Marine Corps, and offered it to the Nursery Management representative, who refused to accept the pamphlet, turned his back on me, and went back into his Office without another word. Based on my experience with "My Yard Center", I have two words for future customers: CAVEAT EMPTOR, a Latin phrase that means "let the buyer beware". It implies a rule that puts the risk on the person who buys an item. The seller does not have to pay for problems or bad parts found after the sale. SEVERAL customers found this out the HARD WAY, as reflected in their LESS THAN POSITIVE Reviews! Hopefully, you have already decided to go elsewhere!

It's a clean, well kept, and well stocked hardware store that is good to have near the beach. The Deets: We had a chance to stop into Robinson's Hardware that's along the main road/causeway right before hitting the bridge to get to Holden Beach. This store was easy to spot from the road signage. We noticed that they have a Yeti sign and one of our group was wondering about some Yeti products, so we stopped in there while also on the hunt for some fishing supplies. This hardware store is pretty sizable while very bright and clean inside. We did find a lot of Yeti brand products here hoping we could find a deal but they offer them at the same or similar price than if you ordered online. But a great selection! We did look through their fishing equipment and although not finding exactly what we wanted in Yeti or fishing gear either one, this place was pretty impressive with inventory and plenty of selection of their hardware related items. We did not have direct interaction with any of the staff/owners on this trip. All in all, this place is a pretty nice/impressive hardware store convenient to Holden Beach and glad we stopped in.

I've been raising monarch butterflies for years. One thing I've learned but sometimes fail to…read morefollow is...plant milkweed and when you think you have enough...plant more. Late in the season I had to call around to local nurseries in Brunswick County to try and find native milkweed for some hungry monarch caterpillars as they had eaten mine down to the stalk. Shelton Herb Farm had some available but not enough to feed the eating machines that are the monarch cats. Their solution....bring the caterpillars I had to their farm and let them free feed in their milkweed field. This was the kindest offer and literally a life saver. Such thoughtful customer service and so appreciated. Shelton Herb Farm is a charming nursery with a variety of herbs, native plants and garden tchotchkes. I can't wait to go in the spring to buy more milkweed!
