On July 21st, I stopped by the "My Yard Center" to advise them that they were displaying the American Flag incorrectly. The two other flags shown should NEVER have been flown ABOVE the American Flag. Unfortunately, they were closed. I returned August 8th on a "Courtesy Call" to inform them that someone displayed their flags inappropriately. I was told that they were forced to fly the American Flag at half-staff for Lindsey Graham, and, due to mechanical problems with the flagpoles, they flew it as pictured. I mentioned then they should not have been flown ABOVE the American Flag. (By the way, the Lindsey Graham half-staff Presidential proclamation and State order was from July 12th until 6:00 P.M. July 18th and had already expired when I took their picture on July 21st.) My "Courtesy Call" was to provide the Nursery with a Pamphlet "How to Respect and Display OUR FLAG", published by the U.S. Marine Corps, and offered it to the Nursery Management representative, who refused to accept the pamphlet, turned his back on me, and went back into his Office without another word. Based on my experience with "My Yard Center", I have two words for future customers: CAVEAT EMPTOR, a Latin phrase that means "let the buyer beware". It implies a rule that puts the risk on the person who buys an item. The seller does not have to pay for problems or bad parts found after the sale. We visited My Yard Center on March 25th and was told a new shipment of regenerated palms would be in later that week. We were called on March 29th to come in and select a palm tree, as the new shipment had arrived. We did so and selected a full green regenerated palm. We were told delivery should be AROUND the end of the following week. No exact date was given. That time came and went and so did the next week. We never received a call from them. We were patient, as we understood this was a busy time for them. I called and they simply say they were behind and would get to it. We didn't go out of town knowing we had an upcoming delivery and couldn't be promised a delivery date. Last Tuesday, again I called and it was obvious that they had overlooked us. There was no apologize and the owner simply said it would be sometime today, Saturday, April 26th. The guys came a little after 8am and the palm shown is what it looked like. We politely called and asked the owner about it being brown since the two others on the delivery truck were nice, full and green. He was unbelievably rude and said all that matters was the center where there is new growth. He was SO rude and said come in to select another or send it back and hung up the phone on me. I had Avery good experience with this company. I chose two palm trees out of a very large selection. They were brought to my house and the holes were dug by hand to plant the palms in. This was important due to where utility lines run on my property. The palms I chose where very large and healthy looking. Since planting they have started growing new fronds. read more

Wow, it seems like it is either love or hate here. From my experience, Mike (owner) has always been helpful and honest. He took no money from me until the job was completed - I think the cost was around $8,000. How many companies do that? He told me about fertilizing needs - the hows and whens. He also shared that there was no warranty - if he had a warranty, he would need to charge $X dollars more for every tree sold to pay for ones that die. He was upfront with this position. I got Pindo palms - he said only 10% die. My palms have all lived - through wind and some cold temperatures. I'm a "Mike guy" - knowledgeable and helpful. Mike is very unprofessional and rude he's a bully, he was paid cash over $1,600 and delivery fee for rock that was to be delivered to my house on Friday he showed up today a day late with the wrong rock saying you can't get the rock I paid for anymore which is a lie. I will never do any business with this guy or business. Also their phones don't work when you try to call them back. Poor business! So so disrespectful. read more

I don't even want to give this place one star. The customer service is atrocious! They give a price, then you go to pick it up and it's a different price! Talk about bad business practice. Extremely upset with the owner. we have spent over $10,000 at My Yard Center over the last 3 years and ordered a replacement Sable Palm for installation. We told Mike that they would have to go over our fence and they showed up with a Dingo. All installations in the past, they have always brought the tractor. Now they said we would have to pay an additional $100 for them to bring the tractor when they are the ones that messed up. Also when we ordered the tree Mike said he would not charge for the removal and now today he said he's going to charge me. when i tried to explain what he said, hes yelling at me saying he's not going to loose money to have dead trees on his lot. when i told him that i would pay for the removal but not for the tractor he said "im not going to loose money and we are not going to install the tree". I cannot believe how rude he was today after all the business i have given him and the referrals that we have given as well. i will not do business with someone so unprofessional. Make sure if you order a tree you get your order written down on paper a get a copy because he doesnt honor what he says. read more

In April 2023 I had stone and sod put down in my yard... Some of the sod was not the healthiest and no dirt was laid before the sod was put down. The patching of it was not done right either. The sod was put down where my yard had mulch before when the house was built. I notified the owner and he refused to come look at the mess I paid for. He blamed me for the poor sod saying it was up to me to water and take care of it... Not the 1st time I have had sod laid... I know what it takes to get it looking good...it should only take 2wks to get it in shape...it took me 5wks and it doesn't look right especially how it was laid and patched. Sad part as well is he lives in the subdivision next to me and couldn't even bother to stop over to look. I had 3 other landscapers take a look and they all said the same things as I. He even condemned the other labdscapers. When I wrote my check out to the store, they wouldnt accept it they wanted it written out to the owner??? I dont even want to give this place 1 star for the shoddy work they did and how I was treated...no excuse.​ read more

Please know that I take no pleasure in composing this review. 99.9% of my reviews are positive, many glowing. In August of this year, my wife & I purchased a Palm Tree from these folks. they also installed it. the same day in fact - August 20. Was a Hurricane cut Palm tree(we didn't know what that meant - as we are from the northeast - making our home here full time as of August). As it turns out, 68% of hurricane cut Palm Trees die within the first year - ours died in 10 weeks!! I have cut flowers that can last 6-8 weeks! I called the folks at MYC - long story short - no warranty - zero warranty! As my wife and I are advid weekend gardens, we thought had always had a one year warranty on anything we purchased! Lesson learned! Also, in my research, yo can purchase a regenerated Palm Tree - which is one that has be put into a container for 14 months of new growth - 92% of those live beyond a year. This was not shared with us by MYC at the time of purchase....we would have opted for this, generally an additional $ 100 or so....well worth it. The folks at MYC are nice....however, after 4-5 requests for a new palm tree, installed by them (again) - they have decided to ignore me. I even made them the promise that I would do another $ 1000 in business with them in 2019 if they made our challenge right! NOPE! Any nursery willing to step in to make this right??? I had landscaping done last year. The workers dumped a truckload of rock on my driveway without a tarp. So when the rock was shoveled into a wheelbarrow the concrete was badly scratched. A 15-foot palm was planted and within a month was starting to lean. I called "Mike" 4 different times and he always complained TO ME that he was so busy and didn't have time to look at it. Then he would complain about the frost costing him tens of thousands of dollars. Then he stopped returning my calls. Now I have a palm tilting almost 18 inches. My husband and I went to My Yard Center in Longs (Myrtle Beach) to purchase two palm trees and some large decorative rocks. After choosing two regenerated trees of which they did not have a large assortment, but we chose two trees that were the same size and were the nicest, When they showed up today with the trees ( which they asked us if we could change days to have the trees planted to accommodate them) they were not the two trees we picked out. They made a stop before mine and the customer liked my tree better and took that one. So, they were trying to give me one hurricane cut tree and one regenerated tree. When speaking with the owner Mike all he could say was I'm sorry we made a mistake. Mike was not willing to tell the other customer they made a mistake and trade the tree out. Very bad customer service to us. Plus we had bought two other palms from them. Fred always tipped them generously and gave them water and soda when planting. Something is backwards here. read more
