Dishonest, Unprofessional, and Predatory Business Practices -- Avoid at All Costs
I recently purchased a home where this company had installed a brand-new A/C system, air handler, and ductwork in November 2024 -- less than a year ago. During inspection, the system wasn't cooling properly, the heat didn't work at all, and water was leaking into the garage. Since it was newly installed, I wasn't overly worried -- I assumed a reputable company would stand by their work.
Unfortunately, that assumption was completely wrong. When I contacted the company, they sent a technician named Fernando. He began politely enough, but after diagnosing the issue, his tone changed dramatically once I questioned the logic of what he was telling me. His diagnosis? A "faulty drain pump" and "bad wiring" that would cost around $2,500 to fix -- on a system his company had installed less than a year prior.
When I pointed out that I had documentation showing their company had done the install, Fernando said they only replaced the unit and ductwork -- not the wiring or the pump -- then got condescending and dismissive when I suggested that was poor business. I paid their $90 "diagnostic" fee, told them I'd be calling someone else, and I'm glad I did.
The second HVAC company I called inspected everything and immediately found:
- The drain pump was working fine, just clogged.
- The real issue was sloppy wiring from the original install.
- They had wired the system incorrectly, causing a heating component to run constantly when cooling was on.
- They failed to sheath or insulate exterior wiring properly.
The new company fixed everything in a few hours -- for $425 total.
So let's summarize:
- The same company that installed a $20,000+ system less than a year ago tried to charge another $2,500 to "fix" problems they caused.
- Their technician was dismissive and unprofessional when confronted with their own company's negligence.
- Their workmanship was careless, and their customer service was insulting.
To me, this looks like a business that preys on trust -- and in this case, on an elderly homeowner who spent a fortune with them. That's disgraceful.
