I wish I had better things to say, Teachers sit them in front of a computer and not even teaching them the actual lessons so they understand. Everything is done on an app and if ur child needs help with something you can't even help bc it's something they are doing at school on a pc. I just ended up homeschooling mine. I moved to Florida by my junior year and completed my Junior and soon will finish my Senior year here and I'm glad I became an Indian (our mascot). The school atmosphere is amazing and if your child comes here with the determination and grit to do better and get their education, that's what will happen. East Bay seems to be notorious for fights and various altercations, however it's only a small few handful of individuals that cause such chaos. East Bay has deputies on campus for our safety, wholesome lunches, caring and attentive teachers/staff and even more so, fabulous academic connections. I've been able to apply for various scholarships throughout Hillsborough County and there are also scholarships given SPECIFICALLY for East Bay students only. How amazing is that!? The principal Mrs. Cox knows about every single student by name, she's caring and wants the best for her students and staff. Cox has also done a scholarship workshop which has also helped me and various other students with scholarship applications and taught us how to "sell ourselves" in order to earn the money. The assistant principals (AP's) like Mrs. Garcia, Mrs. Cummings, Mr. Gunn and even Mr. Williams are extremely attentive and caring, making sure all students are doing what their supposed to do and making sure their in class. I haven't played a sport at this school, but I have heard great things about football and other sports as well. I've even seen one of my classmates have a signing and going to the school of his dreams for doing what he loves! If you're moving from somewhere or want to transfer your child to a new school, East Bay High School is the place to do so!

As you walk down the hall, each and every teacher or staff member that you pass, will greet you with the biggest smile as if you've known each other and have been friends for the longest time. This is my son's first year here, he is in the fifth grade and wow, what a breath of fresh air. We attended a program last night at the school where the school patrols were given their well-deserved badges, and where the teachers informed parents on many exciting things happening in class and many more to come. As a former teacher and substitute teacher I must say that I am not impressed with this school…read more Beginning with the very disorganized new student orientation right down to the lack of information on their website. The greatest amount of information is devoted to fundraising activities. The designers of the physical plant created a building more fortress-like than school-like. The classrooms, the office, the computer lab, and the media center are all undersized and the whole building is claustrophobic. The playground and field are too small for the population. Perhaps the worst part is the location on a very busy street between two businesses. The parking lot is cramped. Since there is no transportation provided, all students must be picked up in the afternoon making the car line a nightmare while leaving the campus is extremely inhibited because of traffic. The only light in this scenario is the gentleman who directs traffic into and out of the campus. He does a wonderful job. The rules at the academy are arbitrary and lack common sense. For example; when it is raining parents must park and collect their children from the cafeteria where they are being held. On dry days if a parent happens to be a couple of minutes late and doesn't make it "behind the gate" even though the car line is not finished, they are required to park and proceed to the crowded office where their children are then summoned from the cafeteria. This exchange could be accomplished the same way as for rainy days, but that wouldn't punish parents enough for not making it behind the gate apparently. I find that much of the staff is aloof and unfriendly and a large percentage have little experience. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

I wish it was happy and safe and secure but i want to be honest, if i can save another kid from having the distracting, unwillingness to help, OR be gentle with kids with autism i would'nt run to this "special education system" for help. thank you. Most homeworks are done online where help is available to the child. The principal, assistant principal, teachers are all extremely welcome and there is an open door policy. The school is in a very safe neighborhood and the school is packed with cameras, which is amazing for the safety of the children. Unfortunately a charter school isn't for everyone. If you can't learn to follow RULES this school would not be a good match. If you like to socialize, engage with the child's education and volunteer then this is definitely a great school. Once the real estate firm took over the leases, it raised the rent on the school that sold for $1 all the way up to $1,325,666 per year. That's public education money -- money meant for classrooms, teachers, and students -- flowing straight into a related company's pocket through an inflated lease. Florida taxpayers deserve to know where their school dollars are actually going.
