I have been several times. It feels like a Salon at check in. I like supporting the students. I myself am in this industry. My appointment was with Shelby. She did a wonderful job. Her attention to detail is impressive. My cut is exactly what I asked for and precise. I see a lot of negative comments regarding the cosmetology schools. These young people are in training. A color correction at a Salon can go up to 800.00+ just to put things in perspective. If you want years of experience it comes at a price. You must pay for it. read more

I am "over the moon" with the beautiful color and highlights I received at that salon today. Taylor was my stylist and aside from her sweet and helpful personality, She is a great colorist and highlight Professional! She checked every 15 minutes as my highlights were processing and ultimately decided with her trainers input, to complete me under the dryer! I came here with my boyfriend early on Monday around 10:30AM. I had my split ends trimmed and I'd rate this place a 5 star just from my own experience. But my boyfriend doesn't seem to agree. The stylist trimming my hair was Hannah and his was Courtney. Hannah did a great job and I'm very satisfied, we were on a time crunch and she was able to shampoo, trim and blow dry my hair by the time my boyfriend got done. He said that he would've liked his experience more if the instructors didn't make the actual student so nervous that she was dropping her tools and wasn't using the correct way of holding the trimmers. He said had she been able to be one on one with him, she would've most likely done a great job. But overall, we're both satisfied with our trims. And will most likely come back in the future. read more

My experience with this business started off badly. I had called to make an appointment, which was made for a Tuesday afternoon. I received a confirmation text the day before. So I showed up for the appointment, and the girl at the front desk said she didn't see anything in the computer. I showed her the CONFIRMATION text on my phone. She said she didn't understand how that happened because there's nothing in the computer, and they don't normally schedule on Tuesdays. Not a good first impression!! They did find a student to cut my hair, and she did s good job. However, I did note that there was no instructional supervision at all. read more

Just left after 31/2 hrs with my hair soaking wet. Went in for hi-lights and cut. Was told I needed color correction and that the price would be a little higher than I was quoted. Left with no cut and price much higher than quote. Called someone in charge and was offered a free blow dry. Really. I realize this is a school, but they should tell you exactly what the price is upfront. Was told halfway through the color correction that it would be more. Now I have to go spend more money for a cut. Will never go back. read more

My mother was in town and wanted to receive a haircut. She has a disability and due to that disability she requires assistance from a service dog. This place of business had her wait well beyond her appointment time due to the issue of having a service dog. I understand their is an issue of other people trying to pass their pets off as service animals but the current Americans with Disabilities Act law is that you are not to discriminate against persons with Disabilities. Just by making her wait longer they are breaking the law! Extremely rude and poor service! Will never recommend their services to anyone ever again! read more

This place is terrible. They get the lowest quality students who are very dependable. I have showed up twice and have been told that my student didn't show up so too bad so sad. I had booked appointments due to going out of town on vacation so it was really terrible that I didn't get my service. And when I asked for compensation I was offered 20% off my next services. After the driver got back to the restraunt and realized no credit payment was made, we called the employee "Kiara" and explained she never paid but she refused to pay. I've been a long time customer at Salon Academy in Lexington Kentucky so I must think they must have had a change of management in the last year because their service has gone way downhill. They don't seem anxious to make an appointment and when I made one they were very slow to see(over 30min.)me. I've tried to make appointments several times in the last few months with similar problems(and hardly anyone in the salon). They are ok with starting your service late 15-20 minutes late, but if your 5-10 mins late for your appointment you will and can be canceled. They will mix your appointment up and not make it right. They will make you an appointment with the person you ask for on their day off and put you in someone else's chair. And if your hair gets messed up they will not accommodate you. I will never recommend them again. And the front desk clerks are extremely rude and short with you on the phone which is unprofessional. And the leadership seems to be ok with ALL OF THIS!! read more
