I moved up to Duluth MN and I had the BEST experience with Diane!!! It was one of the only places…read morethis was actually an able to rent in advance. It's so tough for us anxious girlies when a ton of places pop up for rent 2 weeks before you gotta be out of your place. I wanted to find a spot a month in advance because I cannot live with that anxiety of not knowing my next move. You have to put your 2 months notice in and then be stressed out for a while before signing another lease. She made the transition so easy and seamless. The unit is beautiful!!! Real hardwood floors, she made SURE it was spotless and actually takes care of the place and fixes thing in a timely manner. Super responsive and kind. She checks in and makes sure everything is good. She actually cares about you as a human if you're a genuine person. She wants you to take care of her place as if it's your own which is so fair and I wanted to follow her lease instructions because she was so great to me. Some landlords are jaded and rude but she takes in every new tenant without that bias and matches your energy. Got my FULL deposit back because I tried hard to clean and make it beautiful again. She painted before I moved in- something a lot of landlords do not do which sucks. But she wanted to make sure it was immaculate and I appreciate that because I love doing a good job too and take pride in my work ethic. I've heard that it's really hard to find a good spot in Duluth that is both clean and well maintained and with a good landlord. She is both 100%. Be real with her and she'll be real with you. She made the moving out process so easy- sent detailed directions not only on how to properly clean things but an itemized checklist of what to clean and the price is would be if you don't. Because that's the thing, if you don't clean it she will either do it herself or hire someone to do it for the next tenant. If I ever move back to Duluth then I will absolutely be renting with her again. She has multiple spaces for whatever you might need. I'd rather choose a good landlord over anything else and the location was perfect- 6 minutes from work close to everything. The lake, Chester, Enger Tower, Traverse trail. Felt so safe because or the location even though I was essentially downtown/central hillside. If you're looking for a spot to rent in Duluth I would absolutely recommend checking her spots out if you want a good experience and you can follow simple rules. She is a gem of a human and I'm so happy that I chose that spot with her. It was the first place I toured and I could tell she had great energy. Guard up at first of course because you gotta protect yourself but is a really sweet woman.

I moved to Duluth to be a news anchor on ABC-TV (WDIO). So helpful and caring of her tenants, and this made me feel comfortable in a new town. Treat her and her property with respect, and receive the same respect! Loved her and my experience with her, great!

Don't move here! Not maintained at all…read morePoor management No parking No storage Suspenders bed bugs Horrible experience listed here: Our best friend passed away in building two weeks before signing lease and they refused to return our deposit. They would not give our concern of moving into that same building any consideration and would not EVEN make an attempt to look for an apartment in another building, regardless of our grief. The worse part was the Shelby turned on us and didn't even give a move in date. There was zero communication once they received our money. Amanda was the coldest person ever when I told her that we couldn't move into same building that friend passed away that week her response was," oh you knew him, we don't know how he died yet" it was by far the coldest response ever. I'm still waiting for the management to call me back! Heartbreaking.I will be pursuing this

Let me start with the pros- the people that live here are the best part. We lived in the building…read moreclosest to the lake and it is very quiet. The location is really good. Connie, the cleaning gal is great. The cons- It is dark and very outdated. It is not maintained well. Now to the worst and most unsettling part. We had raw sewage pour down through our bathroom vent at 3 am. It was fixed in 1 1/2 weeks. It was handled very poorly by management. We were treated as if we did something to cause the issue. Thankfully, this was a temporary living situation before a move out of state. Go for a tour before signing lease. We did not. If we had I would have never signed up to live here.

I stayed here for only three months while subleasing, and overall, the experience was extremely…read moredisappointing. The room I was given had a dirty dresser and a bed frame with some kind of yellow gunk on it--completely unacceptable. Bluestone staff also have a habit of calling at inconvenient times, like 8:45 PM on a Friday night (yes, Jared, I'm talking about you). It feels like they do this knowing you're less likely to answer, which is frustrating and inconsiderate. While the amenities are fine, they're not enough to make up for the poor living conditions and overall lack of care. I honestly believe they take advantage of college students. If you're a student considering this place, make sure to have a parent or trusted adult look over the lease and give their opinion before you commit. Save your money and look elsewhere!

Received parking ticket/snow removal towing fee when there was no tow and no notification…read more Threatened with eviction when late payment. Tried calling to rectify and pay. Was told eviction process was in progress but needed to be handed in person. Never was. Was told eviction was in progress and once payments made, it would be reversed. Payments all made. Called 6 times left VM with no call back. Received an email could not correspond as there was an eviction in progress, though it is now fully paid. Told we have to go through their lawyer. Horrible communication, many fees, turned off lights on other tenants living in the space.

Bluestone management is ridiculous. They are money hungry, and take advantage of their residents…read more Among rocket high rent prices for even tiny spaces, there are hidden charges, and the "10 day early possession". This forces residents out of their apartments 10 days before their lease is up and requires them to pay the full rent. When asked why, they say "oh yeah, this happens in the twin cities all the time, we need that time to paint your apartment" This is b.s and is just another way to make more money. The also have no sense or respect for documents we as residents give them. I gave them a copy of a very important personal document they required the first month I moved in, and then 5 months later they claimed they never received it. And I know for a fact that I am not the only resident that this has happened to. I also moved in when the building was brand new and within a few months, they staff was fixing things, like flooring, front desks, and the even fire place. Even the quality of the things inside my apartment was awful. The first time I tried to use the shower, the whole head and pipe came right out of the wall. Poor construction could be seen in my apartment right away. Bluestone staff is all stuck up, and you can see through their fake smiles, while they silently judge you. And beware, even when you are out of their sight, there are cameras everywhere. If you are considering Bluestone as a place to live, please please please don't be fooled by the new building and coffee machine in the lobby, it's not worth it.

I really loved how my packages were always safe and behind a locked door. I see many apartments that leave them out - not cool. I also had so much fun talking to the front desk ladies and managers. We always had a great convo and good laughs. One thing I will always miss is maintenance! Any time anything was wrong, even small as I do not know where a cord gets plugged into - they would fix within 24 hours no joke! Even better is that you can submit a fix request online. I never had to meet with anyone and could out "allowed to come in when I am not there". I would come home and it was fixed. They have SO MANY epic events and these events really are not basic. They make cool food with cool themes and try to get every one together. Many people complain about having to leave your apartment and still pay half months rent - of course that is not fun, but it is stated in the lease and brought up before you sign. It is a unique situation because they have mass loads of students coming in at once. This is a great place to get your base started and your group of friends! Flats is very upscale and modern and allows dogs! Wooooo
