Rude staff over the phone. Passed me from one person to another for an hour. Must be too busy in smoke breaks.

I was visiting Ocean Shores from 2 hrs away and woke up at 3AM in…read moreexcruciating pain, I was worried about going into an ER I wasn't familiar with but ended up needing to go. We drove to Harbor Regional and were immediately greeted with kindness and understanding from the front desk (night crew) I was seen right away and gotten my labs and vitals done immediately. They were very attentive to me and kind. I was brought in the back and given pain medication and wasn't just left sitting there in pain for hours on end, so I was feeling better almost immediately! I also work in healthcare so I was understanding about labs taking a little bit. I ended up getting my medication to treat my illness and was sent on my way in a timely manner :) The Doctors and Nurses were so wonderful to me and patient. I believe shift switch occurred before I left and the day time Nurses were so kind as well. I couldn't have asked for a better experience being scared and in pain, hours away from home. Thank you Harbor Regional! Two days later and I'm good as new.

This review is specifically to Harbor Regional Health & Diagnostic Imaging's scheduling department…read more On Friday, April 3rd, I unfortunately missed their call to set up an appointment. I returned their call the following Monday with no answer after several rings, Tuesday the same thing. Wednesday, a young lady answered the phone and told me she was not the scheduling person and could not make an appointment for me. My wife was skeptical that the person I spoke with in the scheduling department was actually unable to schedule an appointment for me, so she called them the following day, only to be met with the same response by the same person. On April 20th, 17 days later, I finally received a return call, but unfortunately missed their call by about a minute. I immediately called them back only to get an answering machine requesting my information. I finally gave up on them and asked my primary care provider for a different referral and he referred me to Pulse Imaging in Olympia. Pulse Imaging immediately scheduled me in. Now that the imaging has already been completed I have yet to hear back from Harbor Regional Health & Diagnostic. Their scheduling department is severely lacking!

All the nurses I interacted…read morewith were so nurturing, supportive and let me choose my care and really reassured me I'd be ok the whole time. Specifically shouting out a few nurses that really made a difference for me were Jillian, Bre, Lakita, Katie and Caitlyn (if the names were wrong or spelled wrong I'm sorry, I was a little loopy a lot of the time). Honestly my whole care team was amazing. I'm coming back to this labor and delivery for my next baby because I know I'm going to get the best care.

Today's interview with the Providence Emergency Department Crisis Unit, once again, several people…read moreinitially presented for the interview panel. The Program Coordinator Behavioral Health Services, an LMHC, I would have to say, was the one person who coordinated this interview who had the least social and professional personality and presented as "stand-offish". It was embarrassing that this credentialed individual in my field of work (mental health) would not have better interview skills than this, but it is the reality of Providence that they hired her. The Program Coordinator was vague and uninviting, and when asked about the next step in the interview process, she immediately dodged the question by saying they had several more interviews this week and into next week. However, I asked when I would know the outcome. One interviewer, a manager, struggled to ask his questions (i.e., speaking and coordinating his words were difficult), and another nurse manager asked when I was completing my doctorate, which was already on my resume. The manager who was struggling to speak because my PsyD from an APA-approved university asked that, once I finished, I move to the other state where the degree came from. Before this question, I had already mentioned that I live in Washington, that my family is in Washington, and that this was our "forever" home, but he asked again. The interview began with six participants, but by the end, only three remained on the call. Attendees dropped off while I was answering the interview questions. Leaving a virtual interview abruptly, without explanation, is generally considered unprofessional and discourteous, as it shows a lack of respect for the candidate's time. Although technical issues can occur, professional etiquette suggests that an interviewer should acknowledge the issue, offer an apology if feasible, and arrange a reschedule. Moreover, the meeting was intended to be an interview, but it lacked structure; the questions posed were random and were made spontaneously by each interviewer. Due to the virtual format, we encountered connectivity issues that caused an echo when we spoke, as well as delays in the sound from the management officials. Still, be mindful that this is not how you treat an applicant by making them responsible for resolving connectivity issues and take the time to explain what this job entails. Not one manager took the time to discuss the position. This is an organization that may (or may not) pay well. However, the fact that people in management positions who hire for the emergency department and a crisis unit cannot have better communication or interview skills is clearly wasting massive amounts of money on useless interviews. It leaves an applicant to believe there is no accountability, and if the public does their research, they will find comments like, "...multiple nurses walked by and did not check on me or say anything to the nurse assigned to me. They have that 'if it is not my patient, it is not my problem' attitude..." The response is probably how the staff feel about their job today. Again, I recommend that you save your skills and go somewhere where you feel valued from the start of your interview through the hiring process. Avoid the Providence Health System (especially in Olympia, Washington) as a whole.

My husband went in the back himself to grab help. The nurse was quick to defend the receptionist stating that we were not being ignored and that I am standing and breathing I'm fine. Who in the waiting list room is monitoring me? Other patients?

If I could give less than 1 star, I would place this hospital in the negative by far…read more I have 2 experiences about which I wish to warn others, the first being the care of an elderly friend who has diabetes. I brought her to the emergency room at this hospital because she had a HOLE in her toe and could not feel it! She had an odor of rotting flesh about her (sorry to be graphic) so I knew this was quite serious. I could see the bone of her toe and noticed several small, white particles around the hole - which turned out to be bone fragments. A young - doctor? - briefly came in to examine my friend, sent a prescription off to the pharmacy and sent her on her way home. The young lady said this infection had not reached the bone, so she could go on home and follow up with her foot doctor. 2 days later, I went with my friend to her foot doctor who immediately told me to take her to St Pete's in Olympia and that there was NO WAY her toe could NOT have been infected to the bone at the time we had gone to the hospital because it could not have progressed so severely in the 2 days between the hospital visit and seeing him. St Pete's immediately hospitalized my friend and had to amputate her big toe. Centralia ought to be sued for such poor health service! But that is up to my friend. I have informed her I am willing to be a witness, should she decide to move forward. The second incident involves my husband who had a stroke, which brought us to the hospital. My preference would have been to go directly to St Pete's, but as I myself had recently had 2 back surgeries, I was unable to drive. Not realizing what my husband was experiencing was a stroke, he drove the two of us to the hospital himself! Thankfully, we weren't far from the hospital and God was watching out for us! But... ok, at the hospital... the young man who was typing up my husband's symptoms and conveying them to the nurse could NOT get anything right. He would tell the nurse three symptoms my husband was experiencing had stopped... when we had said nothing of the sort. He couldn't tell the nurse the correct blood pressure reading, he said my husband lost vision in his left eye, but it had since returned - which was inaccurate!, he told the nurse my husband was not experiencing any numbness - when his whole left arm was numb.....I mean, what? Was it this guy's first day?? And we were supposed to trust he typed in the correct information??? It was truly a mess that we constantly had to interrupt and correct! Thankfully, the nurse put in a transfer to St Pete's; otherwise I would have asked for that myself. Please be cautious and go straight to St Peter's. It is not worth the risk to go to Centralia hospital. Very lousy, disappointing treatment from a place you would hope you could trust in a crisis.

From the time we arrived until the time we left, I felt like we received a high level of care from professionals who were great to us. Everyone from the nurses, to the technical professionals who drew blood, operated the X-Ray and EKG machines to our doctor were excellent, caring and nice to us. I was extremely thankful for the level of care we received last night. I would like to specifically mention Dr. Ross who took great care of my family member and was excellent helping us through a difficult situation. I'd also really like to highlight our main nurse who was excellent and really helped us through this situation. My family member has notorious problems taking blood draws and our nurse nailed it on the first try perfectly, one of the most impressive things I've seen in a hospital. I'm sorry I didn't get his name but he was excellent. Thank you Mason General, we appreciate you very much.
