Erupted wisdom teeth extraction I debated going under anesthesia or using nitrous oxide to calm my nerves. Given the calmness of the team and the way they orchestrated the day, I didn't use anything but a local anesthetic. No general anesthesia and no nitrous oxide. They were great. Dr. Pauls team was fantastic. My appointment was a 9a and I was in the car by 10a. Within 24 hours I was off the pain meds with minor soreness. Highly recommend Dr Paul and his team. read more

We had a great experience with Dr Beatty. He had to extract my sons teeth and my son ended up not liking the laughing gas. Since he asked for it to be removed mid way through they kindly took the charge off the bill. The experience was easy and stress free. read more

Summit removed our teen's wisdom teeth. The office was clean, nicely decorated for the season, and neat. The staff was careful. Our child had an easy recovery. read more

Our family has been patients of Dr Beatty, for a few years now. We have never been in such good hands. He goes out of his way for his patients and even calls personally after all of our procedures. He is a class act! read more

From the first phone call, you can expect the highest level of respect and professionalism. The staff is friendly, helpful and kind. Before the surgery I was informed of the expenses (thank you!). Dr. Beatty's gentle and kind bedside manner eased any concerns. We know we are great hands! The office is first rate and more importantly the people here create an atmosphere where I feel valued and taken care of as a patient. Thank you! read more

I don't usually give reviews unless a vendor has done very poorly. We scheduled our son for oral surgery several weeks ago, and at the time this location said nothing about our insurance carrier being out of network. then when we called and got a quote from this practice on cost they still did not tell us that we were out of network. it wasn't until we asked for a copy of our other sons prior claims that they told us that as of Jan 1 our insurance is no longer in network. They tried to bait and switch us and the location is not honest. they tried to take our business and just assumed we would pay an exorbitant fee to them and never check on being out of network. When I called them on their shady tactics their front desk got defensive and said they were very clear that we are out of network when we called and scheduled with them. That did not happen, had they been up front I would not have wasted my time. Quit being shady, be reputable and honest and you will earn more business. read more

An older front desk staff woman started to argue over my health insurance plans. This was awkward and In front of all other patients and my private information being discussed. I'm sure billion Hippa laws were broken In that moment. Even though I am very well versed because of my on going health issues and had to learn the ins and outs of our plan to protect ourselves from balance billing and so fourth. The patient is always right don't argue with a patient. There are patients who actually understand and know there insurance plan and it's something all people should learn. Just call and verify what I am saying with my insurance why argue with the client? It's been over a week and I have not heard back from the office to schedule my surgery or give me an accurate quote for the procedure. My insurance has a 2-3 day preauth turnaround. I arrived early and was called back about 35 minutes late. It would be nice if something was said at my appt time as this courtesy extends both ways. Patients show up on time why shouldn't the Dr. be expected to respect my time as valuable as well? I drove over an hour to come out here. About 25 minutes after still waiting someone says you will be called back soon. Dr. Beatty was quite dismissive of my serious antibiotic allergies and offered to give me the z-pack after the conversation! I told him that almost killed me! And knew at the moment this was one red flag. He also stated he couldn't be of any help for pain management if you couldn't use opioids or narcotics. ??? Such a waste of time and left me with a sick and disappointed feeling . On a bright note there is a very sweet young girl upfront and a very kind dental nurse. Beautiful modern office. They are great surgeons according to there reviews and Seattle Met awards. Just find the right Dr.'s for yourselves not everyone is the right fit. Don't believe anything you read till you go in and check it out for yourselves. read more

Our daughter recently had her wisdom teeth removed here, less than a month before going off to college. She chose to have the sedation as that works best for her, BUT, she has a phobia of needles and surgeries in general (from past bad experiences for other things). This creates major anxiety, so I was really picky about who I chose. My dentist also recommended Summit, and I did some research on them first as well. With the exception of a little misunderstanding at the beginning, everything went really well and much quicker than we expected. We had Dr. Cottam do our daughter's surgery and he was awesome! Very understanding and empathetic of our/her situation - just couldn't ask for a nicer guy. He also happens to be an MD in addition to a DDS/Oral surgeon, which is why we chose him in the first place. And, he is very experienced, as he does lots of these surgeries every day. Another thing I appreciated was that they worked to get our daughter in right away, as we were pushing a deadline for her going off to college! My daughter was so surprised at the lack of swelling she was having afterwards (compared to a friend of hers who had hers done the week before somewhere else using a different technique than Dr. Cottam), that she even went to a friend's cabin 2 days after the surgery! The whole staff at Summit was kind and caring to our daughter, from the ladies up front, to the younger gal who brought her out of anesthesia (can't remember her name, but she was so nice!). And when there was a billing snafu with our insurance, Kathy in their billing department was awesome, and so kind! Because of this experience, we referred our daughter's friend there, who had the same situation of needing to get it done before college - and he was going to Texas - and they also had a good experience. Can't say enough good things about these guys, and will refer all our friends here! read more

Everything about this office was a pleasant experience starting with the front office staff. They were incredibly sweet and helpful with any and all questions I had. I was extremely nervous about getting my wisdom teeth out and my anxiety was clearly showing as soon as I sat down in the chair to start the process. Dr. Cottams nurses and assistants were so nice in helping me stay calm. They thoroughly explained the procedure, and then Dr. Cottam came in and did the same thing including any possible risks. The surgery was fast, and compared to what I have heard from friends who have had similar cases my recovery is going relatively smooth (considering I just had 4 impacted teeth taken out). My teeth were near a nerve and the risk was that I may experience nerve damage and stay numb in that area for an extended period of time, but this was not the case. I was so thankful for the entire teams expertise and kindness. read more

They run a tight ship here. Helped me through all the insurance issues. I did not waste time waiting around the lobby, they get you in quickly. Strong staff knowledge. Haven't been here for any other issues to know about turnover, but seem to know their stuff. Had a slightly hard time getting an appointment because you have to grab it immediately or it's gone when you call back. The big surprise was I had to pay the whole bill before it was run through insurance. I don't know if their patients don't pay or the reason for this. They did say during the explanation of benefits that they wouldn't know the exact amount but that $3,500 was an estimate. Still I wasn't really prepared to pay the whole thing today and then wait the (months?) to find out the ultimate amount and have that amount credited to my credit card(s). I docked a star for that, because it's a really big amount. read more

If you are ever in a place where you need oral surgery, then I would highly recommend Summit to you. I had an issue with my personal dentist and needed to be referred here. The reason why is because this is the place dentists call when they need expert assistance (like the Swat team of dentists). I had a extremely positive experience with Summit. From the nice people on the initial call, to the billing manager who went over each and every part of what insurance did and did not cover, to Bianca the friendly assistant who was with me throughout. But the real star here at Summit was Dr. Beatty who did an amazing job with me. He explained everything clearly and did precise clean work that made my healing process much easier. He eased my fears and I personally would recommend not getting sedated. A couple of shots did sting a little but zero pain during the extractions. Overall I would highly recommend Dr. Beatty and the wonderful team at Summit. read more

Highly recommend Dr. Beatty for wisdom teeth extractions! Despite being overly nervous, I was very satisfied with my procedure, care instructions, healing, and overall, the entire staff at the Sammamish office. Thanks everyone! read more

Although my 15-yr. old son's wisdom teeth extractions (all 4 done at once) were uneventful and he had no surgical issues, I was very disappointed with the customer service that we received. The front desk was the best part-- very pleasant, efficient and professional. These are the reasons that I gave Summit 2 stars overall, since the rest didn't deserve any. Then came the issues. The lady setting him up (?credentials/name?) was obviously new, and didn't have many answers for me about the procedure. However, the other lady (again, ?credentials/name? No name tags noted) wasn't much more help other than to say "Oh, you'll do great!" to my son. When Dr. Beatty entered the room, he made minimal eye contact with me and his response to my questions about specific medications were blown off (I'm an ICU RN, so wanted more detail than what I got, which was along the lines of "We'll use fentanyl, propofol, versed, a cocktail of whatever we need"). When I returned to the room, my son was barely able to sit up, and yet was quickly ushered out of the room/through the back door, needing to be held up by the original (assistant), despite my requests that he be given 5 or 10 minutes to recover from the anesthesia so that he could at least walk rather than being almost carried to the car. NOT AT ALL a safe process, I assure you. My thought as I got into the car was that at least if he stopped breathing on the way home, I knew CPR... I sat with him in the car in the parking lot for 10 minutes before driving the hour home. Scary and sad that they feel they need to focus on efficiency rather than allowing patients a few more minutes to recover before leaving them to fend for themselves. If this kind of process was followed in a hospital, I am certain that it wouldn't be in business long. read more

Dr Cottam and his staff were friend friendly and supportive. Two visits and each time treated very well. Your in good hands with this team.
