Can I trust them with my most valuable possession? And to top it all off, I was just coming off of being sick for a long time. I was stressed to say the least. I starting calling numbers that I could find for local contractors on Google. I didn't want some independent who would take my money and run. I wanted someone who at least had an office and ratings that I could verify. I set appointments with 3 different contractors, to get bids. The first company basically (without putting it in words) told me that my house was not worth their time. Cody Burch with Resolutions came out with one of his foremen and measured and looked around. The house was rough, no doubt, but Cody was sure I would end up loving it when it was done. But I had one more contractor to get a bid from. I can't even remember who the third contractor was but his price close to Resolutions. When I tried to call him back, I didn't get a response (I may have dodged a bullet there). Long story short, I believe the Cody and Resolutions was put here to help me, and they did. My house went from the scary Halloween house with the peeling paint and the nasty siding to a nice, respectable home! The crew was fast, courteous and friendly and I can't sing their praises enough. I have a stack of their business cards, and being in the real estate industry, will recommend them to anyone asking. Bless you all for what you have done. I love my home (though I still have work to do).

He has also demoed and installed a new tile floor in our powder bath, also not level, and it turned out flawless. The powder bath also needed new glass installed and and additional piece of wood trim...the tricky part was he needed to make it blend into the existing trim that is 100 years old...he did it and it looks beautiful.

I sent photos and Matt said the cost would be $85 per hour for labor plus materials. He estimated it could take up to 4 hours for the job, which we thought was excessive, but agreed to hire him due to the great reviews. He thought alltogether it could run from $350-$400. Being a business owner myself, I assumed he was quoting on the high end but would actually charge me for what he said - labor and materials. The job done by his one man crew was excellent. I must say the quality was great which is why I am giving three stars. However, the guy was at our house for just under three hours. I got a bill for $400. We priced the materials at less than $40. When I asked for a breakdown of the bill, he said it was three hours of time at the home, plus an additional hour to go pick up the materials, which comes to $340 and then exactly $60 for materials. I understand the upcharge on materials since they potentially did not have a 2 x 4 and some plywood on hand (though I find that hard to believe) and had to go get them. But then to upcharge and add an additional hour just so he could charge us on the high end of his quote is poor business practice. I verified this with other companies. He should have explained ahead of time that there would be an automatic one hour charge to pick up materials. I would not use this company again simply because of their poor business practices.

I apologize in advance for the lengthiness of this review. My initial review was flagged & removed…read moredue to lack of a unique firsthand experience. Therefore, I will try to be as specific as possible. We contracted with Park Place Interiors (Windsor location) in January 2019 to perform tilework & refinish our hardwood floors. We had an extremely poor experience from start to finish. From cracked tiles with multiple repairs to two entire hardwood floor refinishes that were ultimately declared non-idustry standard. A member from the NWFA (National Wood Floors Association) recommended that our floors be completely re-sanded to bare wood & that resulting damages occured because best practices were not followed. From a customer service standpoint, we felt our concerns were never taken seriously & that we were dismissed time & time again. We allowed for several repairs to both our tile & hardwoods & remained out of our house for two weeks total while our hardwood floors were refinished - twice! The first refinish included multiple splotchy areas & was not the custom gray color we had chosen. Each time access was permitted, our home either sustained additional damages or underwent ill-attempted repairs. Dan, the president of PPI, placed brown wood putty on our gray hardwoods to cover a seam that had been missed during the two complete refinishes. He also tried to cut out stain from our carpets only to expose the existing plywood underneath. We felt we had no other choice but to hire legal representation after an "attempt to lien" was filed on our house. We had previously been threatened with PPI's attorney involvement & a submittal of our paperwork to 'PFC' (a local collections agency). Sharis, the owner of their Windsor location, stated that they had done everything within their power to fix our items & that this was just a ploy not to pay our bill. In other written correspondence, she alluded to the fact that we were not professional or tactful enough to be their clients (though, she had never personally met with us or listened to our concerns directly). Her opinion of us was based solely on hearsay information. Lastly, Keith, our project manager for the job humiliated us further by stating in a professional flooring report that in the forty years he had been doing this type of work, he had never seen a customer crawl on their hands & knees searching for problems & that he, personally, saw no defects in the work done to refinish our existing hardwood floor. The pictures speak for themselves. We were so disheartened that a proper resolve could not have been reached without legal intervention. We chose PPI because they were a local, family-operated business. Their mission statement is... "the difference is in the details." We honestly felt we had met our perfect match with a company that shared our same philosophy. We never imagined that PPI would not look out for our best interest. It took over 9.5 months from our project's start date for a settlement to be reached & it is now more than 1.5 years later & we are still amidst repairs! Bottom line: You are not obligated to pay for work that is not up to the standards of the industry &/or for work that results in consequential damages. And, it is a shameful practice for a business to attempt to bully a customer into payment... Buyer beware! The attached photos represent the actual work performed at our residence. We sustained damages due to stain contamination to our bathroom & kitchen cabinetry, adjoining carpets, tile floors, baseboards, handrails, door jambs, appliances, walls, etc. Additionally, we still have several defective floor tiles & ongoing grout issues.

Our contractor would respond and communication seemed decent. Ultimately large promises were made with little follow through. At the beginning of this process we were told they would cover the exposed portion of our home to prevent further damage. That just got done 02/09/2026 and they did not even cover all the exposed parts (I have photos). We were told multiple times weekly that they were waiting on approval from our insurance and it should be, "any day". We accepted this knowing sometimes insurance claims cause delays. We would ask for updates and it was always our insurance's fault. In December we went 4 weeks without any communication from Stonescape Steel Roofing. Later we found out our primary contractor was hurt on the job and no one else at the company bothered to communicate with us or take over our project. It took me calling and talking to the General Manager Sean to get an answer. The correction, the company had our initial contractor come back early from medical leave and communicate with us. I have a security video of this contractor in a medical brace at my home completing measurements. Another few weeks being told, "any day" and that the delay was our insurance. Fast forward to 02/05/2026 my husband and I both reached out to the company. I again spoke with Sean who provided multiple excuses as to why everything had taken so long. We were told again the delay was our insurance. My husband and I were told not to speak to our insurance because, "They wouldn't want to talk to us and would only want to talk to the contractor." We called our insurance finding out Stonescape Steel Roofing had only spoken to our insurance 4 times since 08/2025 and just sent the estimation approval request 02/04/2026. The entire time we had been lied to and our insurance was blamed for the lack of Stonescape Steel Roofing. I again spoke with Sean who stated the company "dropped the ball", "he didn't know what happened but it was clear people were not doing their jobs", and promised things would be better. We finally after 6 months get a full insurance approval. 02/18/2026 we had scheduled for someone from Stonescape Steel Roofing to come to our home, bring samples, and get progress progressing. I communicated 8 times leading up to 02/18/2026 to determine who was coming to our home and get a phone number. 8 times I was told they were working on it and would have the information to me shortly. No one showed. I tried to call my contractor and the phone number was no longer in service. There was no communication. When I called because no one showed up I was informed the contractor on our project had quit DAYS prior and they would work on reassigning my project. Again Stonescape Steel Roofing dropped the ball. Working with this company has been nothing but a headache. Lies, poor communication, and lack of accountability. The best part is 90% of our communication with them was done through text so I have a paper trail. I HIGHLY recommend you take your business literally anywhere else if you want the work done. Working with Stonescape Steel Roofing wasted time and energy. We are 6 months later and still have a damaged home. It was clearly demonstrated time and time again that they did not care about the work they were doing or their clients.
