The facility is always clean, well-maintained, and never feels overcrowded. There's a great variety of equipment, so whether you're lifting, doing cardio, or taking classes, you're covered. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming--they make you feel comfortable no matter your fitness level. The trainers are especially great at offering help without being pushy, which I really appreciate. What really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. It's motivating without being intimidating, and you can tell people here are focused on improving themselves. Several of the elliptical machines are not useable and have been like that for quite some time. The other day there was no water to have a shower. The staff did not inform me as I entered resulting in considerable inconvenience for me. When I asked that they should inform folks about no water they said there were signs that I should have read. I only saw a sign on the mirror in the dressing room after I was undressed and had already tried to get water in several showers. They were rude to me for asking them to inform folks and did not apologize even implying that it was my fault for not seeing their signs. Also, even though it is nice to have a pool often it is not available due to their scheduling. I will have my eye out for a new club. read more

Dishonest sales tactics. Was told after an intro Pilates class that the promo price was $49 per month. Was going to stop by the desk and sign up but then received a text with a link to sign up for an appointment with membership services, so I did that. There were no spots until the following week. Was told today the price would now be $99 even though I set up my appointment the same day as the intro class. I've been a member for years and this is so disappointing. I served in the United States Marines Corps for 18 yrs... I was going here to work out for a few months to work out but unfortunately I had to get my leg amputated! So I called to cancel and spoke to Karen (yes that's her name) and she said to get my dr note to her so we can cancel but there will still be a $50 cancellation fee.. cool no problem.. my dr sends it.. then I get a call from "Brad" saying they can waive the cancellation fee but still need to give them $105 now.. Honestly I really want to get a membership here they honestly have one of the best saunas in st george and its a nice gym but they use synthetic fragrance air "fresheners" and those make me really sick. I sent them an email about it asking them if it would be something they would consider changing because not only does it make me sick but synthetic fragrances are endocrine disruptors and really bad for your health but they never responded to me. read more

Just a poor excuse for a gym. Maintenance is a joke. If something breaks, expect it to be broken for weeks, and "repaid" with the bare minimum required. Even their new gym is a joke. Four broken machines. The roof leaks, the lights have been broken for two weeks the fans are so off balanced they look like they are about to bring down the ceiling. There aren't enough 45lb bars. The weights are upstairs with the cardio equipment. Half of the building shakes with the treadmills, the whole building shakes when a weight is dropped. It's just sad that 11 million dollars was wasted on a crappy building. Oh and the outside area is full of crappy broken equipment they took from their 24/7 location that they closed. Don't get me started on the parking situation. The fire lane is full of illegally parked cars during their classes. Sometimes it takes 5 minuets to get out of the parking lot because it's designed with one exit and entrance. Maybe have yourself a smoothy, enjoy the %600 markup! I did the math. It costs $1 on average to make one, but they are $6-$10 each.They nickel and dime their clients like no other. $3.06 for an energy drink. Don't get me wrong, it's the nicest gym in southern Utah, and because of that, they take advantage of their clientele. read more

The only reason they get 1 star is because there is no ZERO option. Their billing is an absolute nightmare!!! My husband is a Disabled Veteran and due to recent medical conditions he is no longer able to safely go to the gym. We called and we were told simply send in a Dr note and you will need to just pay $49 cancellation fee. So the note was sent in and they said you need to pay $150 plus $49 late fee!!!!!! Wow so this is how you treat a man who IS AN HONORABLE WAR VETERAN!!! You are absolutely DISGUSTING!!! The community needs to know how you treat VETERANS!!! We were somewhat ok with paying cancellation fee but now your GREEDY FACILITY wants more. FYI ..My husband stopped using the facility several months ago and continued to pay with good intentions and hopes to be able to return. My husband and I have been a member for 15 years. I take the dance class. In Msy my husband came to summit where I was working out. Dancing) to give me a water bottle. The front desk girl was very rude to my husband and told him he couldn't come in. My husband has brought me water before. So he just kept walking. The girl went to get reinforcements and followed my husband Telling him he had to leave. I saw him come in the room and I went to get my water. The 2 workers kept telling my husband to leave. I followed them out and found out how rude they were to him. So I went to the office to complain but they were not management so I dropped my membership. AI was walking out the door the girl told me to have a nice day. I turned around and went back to the desk and let her have. The nerve to say that after how she treated us. I went home called management and everything was recorded and on flim. She promised me a call back the next day with an apology. THAT NEVER HAPPENED. I HAVE CALLED BACK AND WAS TOLD MANAGEMENT WOULD CALL ME BACK. I HAVE NEVER HEARD BACK. After 15 years this is how they treat there members. read more

Seems like a lot of Karens are leaving reviews on here. I love the Summit. They have become quite a monopoly here in St George, and rightfully so. They have lots of machines, pools, tennis courts, hot tubs, and more. They have tons of different classes and activities too. They fix things pretty soon after they break which keeps the gym looking updated. Because they are so popular it does get extremely busy and crowded at times. I think opening up more locations would be beneficial. Yes, I will admit, every so often, there's a whacky experience with an employee but that is definitely not the norm at all. I think it is unfair for someone to have one bad experience and leave a one star review. A review should reflect, on average, what your experience is like with the business. There is also a lot of socializing at the Summit, and everyone is pretty friendly, so it's really easy to make friends here too :) I do wish this was more of a "bodybuilder" type gym (kind of like VASA is). This gym is more catered to older people and "wellness", but it isn't terrible. read more

Beyond unprofessional... I had an interview with Brittany around the end of June, she told me I would hear from her that following weekend. Sunday comes I hear nothing so i reach out. No response. Assuming they went ahead with other candidates. Then just yesterday I saw her and she says to me "Did you get my text? You got the job" After month you would think they would make it known to contact me for the job offer.. Then she told me to think about it and text her. So I did the next morning, asking about hours she expects from me (this is all within 12 hours). I got a message from her saying "We filled the position.....etc" then she immediately unsent the text message... This place is extremely unprofessional and a lot of the equipment is broken 70% of the time. Cant believe i'm paying $90.00 for this embarrassment of a business. I will not recommend this place to anyone, not even my worse enemy. read more

billing is a joke. I was given the managers extension to call, and when she answered I overheard her say " hey I'm busy can you please take this call and tell them I'm in a meeting?" and then transferred me to a girl in billing. That was extremely rude. I didn't want to talk to the billing girl, I already had talked with one of them. they told me to contact the manager because she is the one who handles the cancellations and they had to get her approval. yet any time I call in to get her approval, she is conveniently never available. what kind of manager avoids customers and passes on all of her phone calls to the employees underneath her just for them to play monkey in the middle and put me on hold forever waiting on an answer. take some freaking responsibility. what are you even getting paid to be the manager for? you would think after many reviews and people pointing out that this manager is irresponsible, unprofessional, and never checks her emails that the company would do something about this. it is absolutely crooked to make people pay more monthly payments waiting on this ladies requirements to be met when she feels like answering. I don't believe for one second that a MANAGER is always absent from their job. it sounds like based on my experience today the girls lie about her being there. read more

I pay for towel service. Maybe 1 out of every 8 visits or so they have them. When you bring it up the answer "They're going to be opening up the other location down the road." Which should be at least 6 months from now. Seems like they could get more towels here by the end of the day. Or clean the ones they have in 2 hours. read more

After reading the reviews, I am going to stay with VASA... at least they have a guy who fixes their equipment on site....no safety squat bars at either VASA or Summit. Good luck deadlifting at either place... one spot at VASA and none at Summit according to reviews. Squatting is a joke at these places also. read more

Lots of classes but gym is always crowded. Meat market place. No loaner mats or even rental mats if you forget yours. Parking lot is usually a nightmare. I will go elsewhere when out of my contract. read more

BEWARE NEW CLIENTS! Update: I just received an email that they will continue to bill my card monthly for their outrageous cancellation fees until it is paid off, even though I have a signed cancellation form. And still no call back from anybody as I requested. Unfortunately my husband and I signed a 3 year contract for this gym back in 2020 and although we didn't enjoy going there and haven't gone for the last two years, we fulfilled the contract and they told us we could cancel in November of this year. The atmosphere is dark and dreary and no machines are available during our times there or there's a line of people just waiting and staring at you to get off "their" machine. Multiple machines need repaired as well. My husband and I have even tried a different location which was further from our home and it just didn't work for us. So last Saturday, we went in and signed to cancel, no problems. Signed and done. This would be the time to collect any fees owed, especially if there's a cancellation fee. Only today (4 days later) they are trying to collect more money that was never mentioned at the time of cancellation nor is it stated on the cancellation form. He said my hands are tied so I asked to speak to his supervisor because I wanted to express my dissatisfaction with their delay on collecting said fee and the overall unsatisfactory experience I've had with them. It's not the money-it's that I have had sub par customer service and it still continues. Nowhere on the cancellation form does it mention any fees. They said it's in my original contract, but then I should've been charged at cancellation. I really didn't have a problem until I requested to speak to somebody else that "didn't have their hands tied" and might listen to my valid complaints and he alluded that I would just be sent to collections rather than getting a call back. And still I have wronged them?!? So, again, I say choose carefully! Do your research! There are so many other gyms to go to in our beautiful city! Make sure you are choosing your best fit! read more

Cancelling your membership is awful I've been getting charged for 5 months since I tried to cancel. They said I had to prove that I moved what a load of crap. I send them mail I received and the response was the pictures to small you'll have to resend it. This is ridiculous! Just know before you buy a membership they will try to swindle you out of as much money as they can before they officially cancel it. And they charge to much for what your getting there! VASA is much better! And affordable and you can cancel anytime!! read more

Watched a smoothie get made today, with a baby sitting on the counter. The employee took the order, then placed the baby in a chair behind the counter. While making the smoothie, the baby's pacifier fell out. The employee stopped making the smoothie, put the pacifier back in the baby's mouth, then handled the ice scooper, protein powder scooper, and used a keyboard and mouse at the checkout...all without washing her hands. Pretty sure it's a health code violation to have an infant walking, sitting, drooling and coughing in an area where food is prepared. Not to mention the safety risks for the baby. I'd think twice about ever ordering anything consumable here. This club is a liability nightmare. I've been in the covered pool area multiple times and been annoyed at the parade of wayward, parent-less children using the pool and jacuzzi. It's often a good fifteen minutes before a random employee notices. Where are these children's parents? Why does it take so long for employees to notice these children? It takes mere seconds to drown. I'm a responsible parent and an adult, but I don't come here to babysit or patrol the negligence of bad parents or irresponsible employees. I went to a yoga class with a friend who is a member here. They only charged me $5 and had me fill out an information sheet. I didn't have a mat so they let me borrow one. The room was a little cool, but the lights were turned down and they played soft music. Ian was a great instructor--very knowledgeable and soothing. Awful. You have to jump through many hoops to cancel your membership fee. If you want to cancel, you have to call several times a week in hope someone will answer. DO NOT leave voicemails. They will not respond. Gym was decent but mirrors were cracked, the floor was extremely messy (dirt and dust and crumbs), and the machines were worn down. read more

I really enjoy Summit Athletic Club. I have taken a few of the classes they offer at the River St location and the instructors have all been amazing! They have a variety of machines and the amenities provided makes it worth it each month. Some of the equipment upstairs does seem a little dated, but it's not horrible. It's a very busy gym so it can be hard to get to a piece of equipment you want, but that's expected when they are so awesome! read more

I joined Summit several months ago and mainly visit the Bluff location. The personnel are friendly and helpful. The facilities are clean and the equipment is well maintained. My only complaint is the television monitors. Of the 5 monitors in the workout area two are on ESPN (understandable), one on HDTV (ok), but the other two are on MSNBC and it is a steady stream on anti-Trump. Granted, not all of us love Trump but he is the POTUS at least until 12-31-3020. MSNBC is one the lowest rated television networks. Please give us something else to watch while we work out. read more

I LOVED the fascia class and the yoga class so much I thought about joining. The front desk gal seemed very nice. When I asked to talk to someone about joining, they sent out Ben. Instead of bringing out any papers with information, he took me to the conference room to tell me what was what. With so much info and no paper to look at, I must have missed something and asked again, DO YOU KNOW WHAT HE SAID??? He said, "If you would JUST LISTEN!" Weird. Who says that? Whether he felt I was listening or not, maybe there was a lot to take I . I'm no dummy. Sorry Summit! You could have had my membership. YOU WON'T NOW! Beware if you are using Silver Sneakers/Fit. Sunset facility told me I was already registered under another Gym and could not enroll me-I am not! Long story short they claim to be working with Medicare but I truly believe they do not want me as I told them I am short term member due to living in SG only 2 months. I am not stupid-their reasons for not enrolling me are way outdated-I am sure they are lying. After some emotional grief I am OK now as I found a family oriented gym down the road off Dixie who took me in for 'free' until my memberships kicks in on 2/1. Kudos to them.
