I had to try a flødboller while in Copenhagen and Summerbird fit the bill for where I would try my first one and this location was right by were I was staying. From what I understand, what makes a good flødboller is combination of the appearance, the chocolate, the cream, the base, and how all these components work together. I went with their basic one as a point of reference to start with.
Aside from the shape (you know what it looks like), the appearance was clean, smooth, and elegant. The chocolate was good, the cream was light and fluffy, but the base was too thin and I was hoping for some kind of crispness to balance with the softness of the chocolate and cream, but it wasn't there. Overall, the flavor was not my favorite, but I would try other varieties in the future.
Service was nice and the location is great within the Torvehallerne market. It is worth a visit. read more
