It's definitely not a luxury spa setting, so if you're looking for that upscale ambiance, this isn't it. But if you're after good value and effective massage work, it delivers. Since it's located right off 8th Street, we could hear some traffic and people talking outside, but it wasn't too distracting. The massage itself was just what we needed with firm pressure, great technique, and they even incorporated hot stones, which was a nice touch. They really focused on working out the knots, and we both left feeling refreshed. This feels like the kind of place we'd happily return to for regular body maintenance. I think a lot of places that I went to considered pain part of the process, but I know that I tense up more with it. Here, I asked my therapist (Coco?) for "medium" pressure, and it was relaxing enough for me to go to sleep. The result at the end, my neck and shoulders haven't felt so loose in SUCH a long time. (TBD: what I'm doing that's causing it to be so terrible in the first place. Maybe lack of regular care.) This place is a little pricier than the others I've gone to, but I think it's still considered a cheaper location. I also opted for the additional $10 for hot stone and scents and it was pretty nice, though I don't know that it was necessary. (The hot stones felt surprisingly nice though; I've had hot stones before that mostly just tensed me up because of the heat, but this one I could feel the blood coming back from the warmth instead.)
