Overall, my wife and I were very happy with this facility and if it were still practical to send our son there, we would. As with any new parents, we were very nervous about picking a daycare as everyone has a horror story. Two things stand out about LB of Freehold which ultimately eased our concerns: 1) The owners care. From day one Vita and Nicole were incredibly welcoming and professional. Not a day went by where we were not met with a friendly greeting. If there was a concern, they were always receptive and willing to set aside time to listen and take action when necessary. 2) The facility was modern (opened around 2015) and very clean. Every night each classroom along with all the toys were cleaned and disinfected. Did our son get sick? Yes, of course he did, it's daycare, but it was not excessive and was not a result of the facility being dirty (I'll hold the commentary on parents dropping off kids that are already sick). The teachers my son had (Infants / mobile infants /1.5-2.5 years) were great. All cared and all were in control of their classrooms and there was no turnover during my son's tenure (Ms Meryl in the infant room was incredibly caring and really helped our sons transition to DC). The owners made good hires. Some turnover was noted at the teacher aide level, but that is to be expected. Finally, and most importantly our son enjoyed being there. He never protested going in the morning and was always happy when we picked him up. Being around other kids on a daily basis has helped him develop socially. This is evident when I see him around other toddlers who have not spent time with their peers. If you have reasonable expectations, this is a great daycare and I would recommend to anyone looking in the Freehold area.

While I, too have voiced certain concerns with the center about my children, I want to also acknowledge how pleased I am with my sons growth and stability in his current class (Blue Horses). Miss Maria and Miss Amanda (admin) have both been extremely supportive and kind about hearing our concerns that we have had in the past, and for that I thank them. But I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge the amazing job that Miss Haley has done with our son. She has been patient, kind, and extremely supportive of him. I know how challenging most 3 year olds can be, and he is NO exception. But Miss Haley has treated him so fairly and I have seen nothing but growth in him since she has been with Lightbridge. He has learned invaluable life skills about socialization that I would have never been able to teach him at home, and his academic progress has sky-rocketed. You have a very special/professional teacher in Miss Haley and I just want to give her the recognition she deserves. Thank you ALL for creating a safe and nurturing place for my children to learn and grow.

It is also an excellent place to prepare your child for Kindergarten so they won't go in overwhelmed and scared. At home we can provide structure and learning tools but it just isn't the same as a true school environment. My son gets excited to see his teachers & his friends. He looks forward to gardening, dance parties and art projects. His overall growth has also jumped leaps and bounds from when he first started last year. So much so we extended his hours from half to full day! We also LOVE that the classes are small & the teachers build a close relationship w/ every child. Touring other schools was quite scary seeing kids screaming and overwhelmed staff. I can assure you Peppermint Tree is not and never will be that way! You also have a built in Summer Camp w/ 2 pools to accommodate all age groups. Did I mention swimming lessons, class trips, gardening, ice cream days, etc? All those things are either part of class or an option to add on. So if you are on the fence about where or if you are going to enroll your child, Peppermint Tree is definitely the Best Choice!

This was their time to eat and sleep! Their naptime was 2 hours. So, if you want your 4.5 year old toddler to go to summer camp and nap for 2 hours this is your place. There were no other activities as promised on the schedule we were emailed to before camp began. The schedule showed that they were going to do arts, science and so many fun things. When I asked if he was doing any of these things I was told by his teachers that most of these were happening during his pool time. Really? Isn't the establishment's responsibility to ensure that all groups get to do these "fun things?" Why should a 4.5 yr old eat and sleep from 12 pm - 3 pm. There is plenty of time for his "teachers" to read books, engage them in fun/educational activities while they're inside. So really, all that money we paid for was only for 2 hours (run around in the playground and use the pool). Our child didn't learn anything, there were no educational activities as the written schedule showed, and we basically paid for 5 hours, 3 out of which were eat and sleep! I don't recommend this place whether it is for summer camp or as a daycare. Unless you want to use it as a babysitting place, sure, then it's fine. Just don't expect your child to learn here...

I rushed to pick up my son, panicked and horrified, only to be met with a director who seemed more concerned about **staff conflicts** than the safety of my child. I was told that teachers may have reported each other due to personal grievances, as if that somehow made this situation any less alarming. When we rightfully asked for our money back--since there was no chance we'd be sending our child back to an environment where this was even a possibility--we were told we had to **wait for the investigation's outcome.** No compassion, no urgency, no reassurance--just indifference. And to make matters worse, we haven't heard a single word from them since. The investigation concluded with some teachers saying they witnessed the incident and others claiming they did not. Because of this, the state ruled they **could not confirm the allegations.** But what does that mean for my child, who was the victim in all of this? The teacher in question is now likely reinstated and undergoing "training." That is absolutely **sickening.** When I asked if they had cameras in the classroom during my first meeting with them, I was told, **"Yes, we do" Never did I think to ask, **"Do your cameras also record?"** because, like most parents, I assumed they did. Had I known otherwise, I **never** would have entrusted my child to this place. At the very least, I expected The Learning Experience to handle this situation with care and transparency. Instead, they offered **no support, no communication, and no accountability.** I feel completely misled, disappointed, and betrayed. If you are considering this daycare, **please think twice.** No child should ever have to experience what mine did.

My son was fully prepared for Kindergarten and is in the top reading class. My daughter who is only 3 learned how to write her name and comes home with lots of worksheets she completed in school which shows how much she is learning there! Everyday she comes home smiling and can't wait to go back the next day! All of the staff is so amazing and friendly! It's a small school, but that's the beauty of it.. It allows the children one and one learning which is amazing at this age! As for communication, Ms. Holly is very responsive and easy to communicate with, you couldn't ask for anything more! P.S Even though the ownership has changed, the care from the teachers has remained the same. We are so glad we chose A Step Ahead and you will be too!

We were drawn to A Step Ahead because of its small class sizes and excellent teacher-to-student ratio, which has made such a positive difference for our son. I'm not sure why it matters that the new owner also has an autism practice. If anything, I see that as a huge advantage. She and her staff are knowledgeable, compassionate, and experienced in working with all types of children. My son, who is not autistic, has absolutely flourished there and is genuinely excited to go to school every day. The staff has been incredibly communicative, accommodating, and kind. We have felt at home there right away. The classrooms are clean, welcoming, and filled with engaging toys, and my son can't stop talking about his favorite part of the day - the staff! She tells parents the kids need therapy when they are doing normal developmental behaviors. Instead of teaching the behaviors that should be used (ie not hitting, throwing toys) they punish the kids and make the kids feel like they are bad. She calls the parent of the child that got hit to pin the parent against other parents. When the daycare opened, the teachers were great and taught the kids. All those teachers left after the first year the school was opened. Now there is no learning and only playing. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone!

Bloom offers a challenging and motivating curriculum, fun activities that are age appropriate and flexible schedules. They also have additional, external services and activities conveniently offered to the children onsite (i.e. Speech, Dance and Amazing Athletes to name a few.). We highly recommend Bloom Academy to everyone and anyone. We will be sad to see our daughter graduate this upcoming school year but we will always cherish the moments and memories that Bloom has given us.
