You order at the counter. As soon as we walked up, she greeted us with a smile. She was working hard and asking our order at the same time. I ordered the chicken shawarma and my husband ordered a gyro. Both spicy. The only downfall was that we must of came after a rush because none of the tables were clean. We had to sit directly by a family and it made it quite loud. The food was good. We also ordered 2 extra naan and a baklava. The naan was fresh and was the best of all. We dipped it in the spicy ziki sauce. We want to come back and try out a few more plates. read more

Sultan's has a 'build your own bowl/ wrap' style service. Staff were friendly, service was quick, food was fresh and flavorful and portions were fair. We liked the selections available: choices of different meats with rice or pita, and choices of toppings. It's as good as some sit-down Mediterranean restaurants we've been to in the past. read more

Terrible. They tried but just missed the mark. Lots of msg and the headache hit me within an hour. First the menu is just terrible. Freshness?? Nope. And no tahini sauce. A blend of Tzatziki sauce w hot mild or plain. A mess. Had the gyro = processed and then recooked and refried The falafel totally dry and previously frozen. The sauces are off. We stopped here for lunch by chance and based on the good reviews. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day but the food was underwhelming. The roasted potatoes were under cooked and still a bit raw. Also they were tasteless and I've had Greek roasted potatoes all over including Greece and these wee a one star. The only decent dish was the gyros which I'm sure they get elsewhere and simply heat up. The lentil soup was average but edible. I suppose for Lincoln this gets a higher rating from people but compared to any larger city or country I'm being generous with 3 stars. read more

A focused menu of Mediterranean favorites, Sultan's Kite is a great place to go if you're in the mood for Shwarma, Gyros, or Falafel. They also serve Chicken Tikka Korma. And that's it. Kinda like chipotle in terms of how ordering works (pick your style, meat, sauce, and toppings). A pita with any of the above meats could be sufficient for a meal, but a side and/or dessert is probably a good idea if you are a big eater. Their baklava was good but not great. Kinda heavy, not very flaky. We had a larger group of 6 adults and 2 kids and arrived at 630 on a Friday, right in the middle of a rush. This caused a bit of a traffic jam, but it all worked out in the end. I've been to both the downtown and this location, and the south location certainly provides more accessible parking. read more

If you've been to Sultan's Kite downtown but hate the traffic, parking, and waiting in lines, I have great news! There's a Sultan's Kite open on the South side!! It's across from Lincoln SW High and Costco, next to a car wash. They have a drive through too! The menu is the same, as is the great quality and taste. They have signs up for Square, supposedly accepting Apple and Android Pay, but it was not working today. The guy in the drive through wasn't sure if it would ever work, but hopefully it's going to. This location has way more seating than the downtown locale. We had the falafel and also chicken shawarma on naan...both delish! The green "Taziki" is their spiciest, and it surely clears the sinuses! The falafel is crispy, the produce is fresh, and the fries are awesome. Thick-cut...crispy...fried...mmm. The baklava was a little dense, but I've also been spoiled by living in Detroit for 5 years with access to some of the best Middle Eastern food outside the Middle East. Overall, it's worth it to drive down here to nosh on some naan! Or stop at the drive through after you buy 36 rolls of toilet paper and 3 gallons of milk at Costco! read more

I came here about a month ago with my uncle and got a lamb gyro. It was delicious I loved it. I'm from DC where I see many more halal food places. Here I don't see too many but it's in downtown which isn't too far from me. It was my first time eating a gyro in a really long time but I was satisfied. Gluten-free options, but they're only indicated on the online menu - not on the menu at the south location. It's a chipotle style menu, fresh ingredients. As a celiac, I requested if I could have ingredients not from the line that would have touched any items containing gluten. They seemed a bit puzzled by my request, but served me chicken shawarma and rice from fresh containers with new utensils. I was thankful for obliging my request. They didn't seem to realize I would want the tomatoes and onions and cheese not from the line. I would go back, the food is delicious - but could be better trained in serving diners with special dietary needs. We had never had this kind of cuisine before and weren't sure how to order but the family who runs this restaurant was so kind and accommodating. When we said it was our first time and asked for their recommendations, we were offered a small sample to help us figure out what to order. Without that sample I may never have ordered falafel (which was delicious). My husband had a pita gyro with the red taziki sauce and fresh veggies and I had their Sultan's plate with their amazing roasted potatoes as the base topped with gyro meat and falafel, white taziki sauce and the little side salad of fresh veggies, olives, and feta. The food was absolutely amazing. Our two meals, drinks, and baklava (to die for!) for dessert we're all under $25. We left incredibly full and happy about our choice to try something new. read more

Today we decided to support a locally owned new restaurant in South Lincoln. Glad that we stopped in.. The young man that waited on us was fantastic. He took the time to explain the entire menu to us. What a nice young man!!! We tried several of the recommended items and were not disappointed in anything we had. What also impressed me was that when the young man was not busy behind the counter he was busy cleaning the dining room. When I commented on his work ethic he responded by saying "I am getting paid to work not be on a cell phone" Wow!!!!! The recent addition of the south location has been great. The option to order ahead and make a quick pick-up is becoming a common occurrence for our family. Brand new location over by Lincoln Southwest. It is a Chipotle style Mediterranean restaurant. So you pick your style, such as Gyro, pita, bowl, etc. then you pick your saucy, meat, and toppings. Initially on picking a Gyro I thought it looked small, but after they layered all the meat and toppings on there it was a lot of food! Fantastic and flavorful. Very fun to have this on Southwest side of town! Definitely a place to regularly come to! read more
