Excellent Turkish food. Possibly the best you will find in Puerto Rico. I highly recommend the Turkish Delight (lamb chop, steak, and chicken). It comes with two sides. To Ted P. You should definitively go again... I have being a Client of this place for about 6 years but they started their business in an other location and decided to move a new place. Their GREAT pride in food taste quality makes them unique in the art of palate seduction. I like everything on this Turkish palce. Churrasco and Chicken Platter with hummus and salad, Love the Lamb with its house sauce, The falafel is home made (like everything else) and cooked to perfection and don't forget the salmon, really tender and full of flavor. For the Grand Finale the Baklava (a rich, sweet pastry featured in many Sultan cuisines of the formerly Sultan Palaces). I also visit this place 2 or 3 times a week and I have not get tired of it in 6 years. The Sultan Abi's family provides great service, awesome food and a nice atmosphere to take a break from the daily rush. Definitely one of my favorite spots in San Juan. I believe that Sultan Abi is the best fast-serve sit down restaurant you will find in the Cupey area of San Juan and one of the best in the capital city. The head chef/owner Serdar IS turkish and makes all the sauces and dressings in-house as well as uses quality ingredients and you can tell the difference in the food's taste. There is nothing better than a chicken & churrasco platter with hummus and rice pilaf (make sure you finish it off with a piece of the Baklava!) The price is noticeably higher than your typical McDonald's, or Quizno's at around $12 to $20 per person but it is easily overlooked with the sheer quality of the preparation and ingredients used. The locale is small and usually packed but now that they more than doubled the sit-down space, it is much more comfortable. The service usually takes around 10 to 15 minutes from ordering to getting your food which varies depending on how crowded it is. The place works best when you bring 1 to 3 friends with you to chat and catch up because of its low noise and casual tone and its nice decor makes it adequate for a lunch date as well. Do yourself a favor and give this gem a try. You will not be disappointed. read more

I must say that I agree with the other review. Ever since I discovered this place I can't go 3 days without comming back. From the excelent lamb, to the juicy chicken and a churrasco that can rival some Argentinian restaurants, EVERYTHING ON THE MENU IS GREAT and always made to order! I am in love with this place and eat here about 4 times per week. The cost of the items is very reasonable for the quality you are getting and the amazing service and atitude of all employees and owner. (I also heard, by the employees themselves, that a delivery service will soon be available to surounding areas. Also, the owner is working on revamping the current menu by adding many new tasty creations (including appetizers, lunch and dinner plates, and desserts) that will be available soon, very soon!!!) This place is a cool change of pace from what we've experienced thus far in San Juan. It's clearly a local favorite -- it was extremely busy when we stopped in this evening, serving up meal after meal for takeout and every table in the admittedly small place was taken. So why the three stars? I think we just missed the boat on the food -- it wasn't really all that amazing. It was decent, but the churrasco was overcooked -- "medium" resulted in no pink whatsoever and it was a bit tough. The chicken tasted like it was juicy at some point, but it was too dry and just left us wanting. In any case, based on the other two reviews and just some feeling we had, I feel like we were there on an off night and I'd be happy to try it again. read more

The food here is amazing! There is consistency in the food, always made to order, taste is always excellent no matter what and the owners/employees are the friendliest people you will ever meet. It became one of my favorite places to get food at the beginning and now I just wanna keep going not just for the food, but for the feeling of that friendly/family service you rarely get anywhere else. I also enjoy the authentic turkish music and videos (don't worry its very subtle, just gives a sense of ambiance, kinda transporting you to Turkey, minus the pricey plane ticket). Also prices are excellent. Not too cheap not too expensive, just right. I was with my best friend yesterday and in our conversation, falafels came up. He told me he knew a place he hadn't tried so we went here. I was super happy to order a falafel gyro since I hadn't had one since I came back from NYC. The food? Worst ever. I was so upset when we got to his house and opened our containers. The falafels were straight out of Costco and baked (You could tell, since falafels tend to be round, not have a flat surface under them that is mushy, meaning you guys didn't even have the decency to flip them half way through.) Not only this, it was cold and disgusting with no flavor. The greek yogurt sauce (don't know the name), was also store bought and flavorless. It really angers me to see this place has 4 and half stars on yelp. It looks like you people have never had good food. Small portions for the price, especially the lamb dishes. The lamb kabob (that are lamb chunks) was barely enough food. The Kafta (or ground lamb) kabob was a little more plentiful, but still too expensive for what they serve. We love Turkish food and have been to many major Turkish/Arabic restaurants in PR. Sultan Ali is our least favorite. The humus is bland, pita bread has nothing to it, usually cold, the rice is NOT what I've come to expect from Turkish restaurants. The rice is actually more like arroz blanco criollo than Turkish style rice. The environment and seating area is very nice however!!! Parking sucks. We will still go eat here maybe once in a blue moon, but it's hard to justify the cost here. Especially since it's supposedly "fast food"...
