A day pass is only $6 which is a steal compared to Fairfax rec centers and PW county Freedom Center. I only came to use the pool but staff was super friendly and welcoming. They have a huge rock wall that no one was using and multiple exercise machines in use but no apparent lines. The vibe was very "community" with all ages and types of folks. Many apparently meeting up for their daily outings. Lots of "Hi and How are you" from neighbors. Went at about 8:30 am on a weekday. the pool is beautiful. The temp is very cool, but refreshing. No waiting, plenty of lanes for Laps. The locker room is clean and very private with individual showers. I will definitely return. It opens at 5am on weekdays which definitely puts it in a category by itself

There's a diving board, and a small kids slide. Communication from pool folks is good as well. As for me there's nothing really exciting about it. It should work for most though. But even without students it seems to be a well loved library- it's not overly packed but it is busy during the day. It seems to have a diverse group of ethnicities that come through seeing how they offer one-on-one tutoring and multiple books in different languages. Is a good library. Just avoid school dismissal time.

AMBIANCE Reston Regional Library is one of the quieter…read morebranches in Fairfax County. As only regional branches are open on Sundays, I decided to visit to to complete some studying. There's two rows of public use computers right as you enter the front doors, and ample tables for reading/working. Being a regional branch as well, they also offer more book options and resources for residents. Although located across a police station, I was surprised to see such a heavy presence of officers in the library (right as you enter and making rounds about the library itself). BATHROOMS The bathrooms aren't the cleanest, and when I visited, men entered the women's bathroom to use as well. PARKING There is ample parking available in the lot, and there's never a lack of spaces. It can get littered (we saw a couple condoms scattered about the lot).

The classes are great, but some of the librarians take their role as facilitator of the class too seriously; they're more like dictator of the class. I get needing structure and rules, but it becomes a problem when you can't even hold the kids attention because you're spending 5 minutes going over "rules" that can be summed up into "sit on your bottom and put on your listening ears.

I love how accessible this library is for walkers and bikers in the town of Herndon. You can enter from the bottom floor or the second floor from the outside. The bottom floor has conference rooms, a foyer with seating, local bulletins, and the Maker Lab. The top floor is where there's a huge communal quiet room with dividers for individual studying, the books, and computers. I would recommend chatting with any librarian here to find out everything the library has to offer. It is a LOT. I am a fan of the Maker Lab.

On rainy days we like to grab coffee from a local coffee shop and play in the children's area. They have several different toys for in-house loan like legos, kitchen accessories, bricks, blocks, and cars. Even though my kids have the exact same toys at home, they can play quietly for hours here. I think they enjoy sharing with different kids and the new atmosphere. The patrons are friendly and their new book selection is on point! I am always able to pick up a few books off my wishlist whenever I visit. I am so glad this place exists!

I really like this library. Very easy to use. My child loves it as well (they have the little toys…read morethere to keep her occupied). I usually put books on hold, then I go directly to the hold section to pick it up. The only thing I don't like is that they only put your last name and first initial. It would be helpful to put the entire name as many people have same last names.
