I've been going to RCC water aerobics for 8-9 years now and had classes with many of the instructors (Emily, Jody, Kathy, Dory, Anita) all of whom are excellent. Each instructor has a unique style and they all bring a wealth of knowledge to the workouts. They explain the exercises well and respond helpfully to questions. These classes have prepared me for knee replacement surgery and made recovery much quicker. Motion is lotion! read more

We were very disappointed with Camp Goodtimes on the Road. The camp was unresponsive when an issue came up, refused to refund the cost for a missed day even though the schedule was unclear, and shifted the blame to parents instead of taking responsibility. Communication was unprofessional, and overall the experience did not meet the standards we expected. read more

Incredibly unprofessional, indoor swimming pool, RCC aerobics lead instructor with an abrasive and aggressive personality. This lead instructor has regular absences. Thankfully, the substitute instructors are better with instructional routines overall. Class participants complain privately and eventually stop going to class on a regular basis. They don't find value in the routines provided by this lead instructor who spends a lot of time talking about personal issues, interacting with just some of the group while the others are ignored or left to their own devices during the class. The blaring music that drowns out the instruction does not help. These classes have a fee attached and should be led by a professional instructor. If you are looking for a water exercise class with diverse participants, the one at RCC would not fit. Also, RCC's operations are primarily supported by revenue from a special property tax collected on all residential and commercial properties within Small District 5, which encompasses most of Reston. It is a shame when taxpaying residents cannot access the services of RCC aquatics due to the lack of professionalism of personnel hired to provide services. read more

This is a review for the Center Stage at Reston Community Center. What a nice place! It has aged well (probably with updates and renovations). There's an Aquatic Center downstairs. The auditorium, the Center Stage, is clean, comfortable and felt new. We came here for a concert (all the way from Washington DC; Reston is farther than even Wolf Trap). Worth it. read more

I've been going to the RCC to swim laps for a few months now. Great pool, not crowded, both open swim and reserved lane options available. Large locker room, very clean. Only $4.50 per visit for Reston assn members. Monthly/annual passes available for frequent visitors. It's a great value if you don't belong to a gym with a swimming pool and need to train for an event. Convenient location on a plaza with a lot of stores. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the website is a bit clunky. Staff have been responsive to emails with questions. read more

The center stage at Reston Community Center is tucked behind a shopping center. This is one of the best stages as far as community theater goes. All seats are easily accessible and easy to find. The stage itself was nice. Acoustics were ok and could be a little better but was enjoyable. The play we went and saw was fantastic. We will definitely be back. read more

Never sign up a child to kid camp through Reston Community Center. The only thing they care about is getting paid. They see your child only as a paycheck. Ms. Debbie Heron The youth/teen Director extremely disrespectful and unprofessional to the point of hanging up on me. She could not help with my situation and explained that her only concern was paying the vendors. Zero stars. read more

Paid a visit to the Reston Community Center for the first time. Came here for a friends baby shower. The building is a bit tucked away and so it was difficult for us to find at first. Not sure if there is a specific parking lot for the community center. Since we couldn't find any, we parked at the shopping center nearby and walked to it. Upon entering the community center, we noticed a bunch of different functions going on in here. This place was packed on a Saturday. The baby shower took place in a separate room and was very spacious. Definitely a nice place to throw a party. The community center is wonderful and has lots of activities going on during the week as well. read more

Lovely venue for the arts in Reston. Through Washington West Film Festival, I saw a free silent film at the Center Stage, which is housed within the community center. The areas I visited were clean and bright, and staffers were very helpful. Before I left, I picked up a program listing lots of interested upcoming events, and I'm eager to visit again! read more

I went here last night for Tom Teasley's performance of his original score for the film "The Adventures of Prince Achmed" as part of the Washington West Film Festival. It was a beautiful experience. That was my first time going to the Reston Community Center, as I live in Alexandria. I was a little bit confused about where to park - my GPS took me to a parking lot kind of hidden from the community center. I did see the large letters marking the venue, so I was able to find it without much problem. The staff were friendly and courteously asked me to make sure my phone was off. I didn't get to explore much of the center - just the Center Stage area. From what I saw, the center is clean and well-run. I would definitely go back for another unique event like the one I attended. Props to Reston for holding wonderful cultural events! read more

Holy mess of a bureaucracy: to attend my WWG meeting I had to register, but before I could register, I eventually found I had to create a permanent web account with gobs of irrelevant PII info. & have a new email (it refused my working email, but before I could create an account I had to wait an indeterminate amount of time for 'Household approval' (with no criteria given). Meeting day; still no Idea how I am supposed to know if or when I am worthy of getting an account. Called number given x4 for human who said, "Just show up and ask at the front desk if they will let you in." Maybe the 40min drive there will be fun even if I don't get in. read more

I would give zero stars if I could . My daughter went to cooking for tweens with allergies. And they feed her a known allergy after promising us this was a safe place for her. The teacher didn't even read the lable to the hummus container before letting my child ingested it in the lasagna they made. Yes hummus in lasagna for a girl that's allergic to sesame seeds. So so negligent... you should all be Ashamed of your self's. My fighter could have died and was in the hospital for hours and on meds for almost a week praying a reaction wouldn't come back . Don't trust these people with your children. read more

Not a bad spot once you do some decor.. if you are having an event.. but can't have a real party here.. the sound system is built in and my car stereo is louder!! And you have to use their system Can't bring in outside system.. going to mess up any wedding or party where there is real dancing!! read more

I've got a mixed review. My experience at RCC is a good one most of the time. One day, there were loud women in the bathrooms cursing to one another. I told Melissa about it, and she went in there and the women left quickly. Thanks Melissa. The pool and surrounding area is often clean. Sometimes, there is left over debris and miscellaneous things in the pool: hair, bugs, etc. Lastly, in the early morning, there is one lifeguard that is often sleepy sitting in the chair. One day, I encouraged him to stay awake on the job. He was a little stunned, but straightened up and woke up. Please make sure that you get a good night's rest the day before you must lifeguard. It makes all of us feel safer. read more

Stay away from the drop-in Sunday Afternoon Dance at the CC. This was described for "Dancers of all skill levels" and with "three mini lessons" and no partner needed - this apparently was not accurate. The lady in charge did all she could to discourage me and my partner from joining. It was not clear why but she was very unwelcoming, to say the least. The lady behind the counter tried to say this was closer to a social event. They gladly refunded our money and we left. That said, I've attended many shows at Reston's Center Stage (within the Community Center) and totally enjoyed those events. read more

The Community Center hosts a number of performances on its stage. I have seen a few superb classical music performers recently, namely, Mark O'Connor (American violin master and composer), Dimitri Murrath (award winning violist) and Leon Bates (concert pianist). If you live close by and value the performing arts, I strongly recommend consider supporting the extraordinary artists playing at the RCC's CenterStage. read more

What a waste of a Sunday. We went trying to enjoy a quiet Sunday with our kids. Mind you, today is the last day before the close, and they can't let any more people go in because one life guard didn't show up. How do I tell my 2 year old she can't swim in the pool because the life guard didn't go to work? His solution was we could wait around and see if anyone left. Great. read more

The staff really works very hard to include all of Reston into their program. They really try to unite the community no matter how much money you make, how old or young you are, wherever you are from. The front desk staff is terrific and the head of the various departments are smart and efficient. Every year they seem to improve more. We are lucky to have this gem in our "place called Reston". read more

RCCs at Lake Anne and Hunters Woods are outstanding for the quality and variety of the arts and crafts opportunities they provide for a wide range of talent and enthusiasm. I've benefited from fantastic classes in ceramics, water color painting, digital photography, drawing, batik and swimming as well as enjoying plays, unusual concerts (experimental music played on the toy piano for example!!) and varied media exhibitions from acquaintances whom I never even knew were artists . Sometimes the joyful sounds of the mother and baby music and motion groups flow right into the ceramics lab. 60 year olds learn swimming or cell phone technology from 16 year olds. You can even get help with your taxes! And all so astonishingly affordable! read more

Absolutely disgusting. Location is terrible, not the Reston I know. Totally on the wrong side of the tracks. Pool is great and the locker room is very nice with private stalls which is a very nice perk. However, having to park in a mall shopping center parking lot and having to walk ALL the WAY to the front door is ridiculous. Also, there is a christ church next door which is connected to the center which is strange. Jacuzzi tub was discussing and not clean at all. Too small to be shared by men and women. There was someone in there that looked totally sick, like red eyes and peeled skin and they were in the jacuzzi, I got out in about 3 seconds. Walking to my car I was followed by a hooded guy that was about a foot and a half from me, luckily some of the Christ church ladies were on their way down to the building and I rushed off to my car. I vowed I would never come to this place again. Knock the building down and get a parking lot attached. Too bad because the place has potential. I am a member at the Reston YMCA and thought that place was awful UNTIL I saw Reston Community Center. I am now grateful for the pool and individual sauna and steam room separated out for women and men at the YMCA near the pool. Went there for 4 years before realizing the steam room and sauna were even an option. Now I'm in heaven after seeing the Reston Community Center. read more
