After getting excellent service when I took my car in for servicing, I referred their garage to a family member. He took his car in several weeks later. The person who's supposed to work on a special part of the car was out that day and he had to leave his car overnight. Remembering that his garage door opener and other personal items were in the car, a call was made to see if the garage could store his car inside the shop for safety. Sullivan's did just that. That's assurance their customers needed to hear. While online reviews are great, direct referrals from people you care about are unmatched because they represent proven reliability, established trust, and personal care. Took my old golf cart battery in to get a new one as we could not get it started this spring after the winter of it sitting. It would not even turn over. Trickle charged it too. On our annual trip to Yosemite our car began to have consistent temperature fluctuations. We made it as far as Oakhurst where we made our way to Sullivan's for help. The team there could not have treated us better. Took in the car while we secured a rental from the local Enterprise office (also great service!). They were very busy but thought they could get to our car in a few days. Imagine our surprise when we received a text message just a few hours later with a diagnosis and an easy and inexpensive temporary fix that would allow us to get the car back to LA to be repaired. They refused to charge us anything for the diagnostics or storing the vehicle for the week. Good, honest people still do exist! If we lived in the Oakhurst area I wouldn't hesitate to make Sullivan's our "go to" for all our auto repair needs! read more

My 2007 Honda Accord overheated and broke down on a trip to Yosemite. I was desperate and was hopeful my car would be drivable soon after taking it here. My car was ready near closing time and I was relieved as the mechanics there assured me the problem was fixed. I was able to drive my car home until it literally overheated once I arrived at my destination. The issue wasn't fixed properly and I couldn't believe it. This tire shop/ repair Sullivans should have 5 stars. I recently took my care to a local mechanic that I thought was honest. My 98 Volvo s70 left me in a tough spot last week stopped running and couldn't get a restart. The local mechanic to my surprise had burned a lot of locals from my area. He missed diagnosed my car symptoms said it needed a tune up and a fuel pump. After asking for a written estimate twice he wouldn't comply. I left my vehicle there at his shop 24 hrs. Next morning says come pickup your car there's nothing wrong with it. As I was going to get my keys from him he started yelling at me and swearing at me to leave his shop and don't return. My car ran for a few mins then down in fast lane on 41. A friend recommended me to call Tire Pros in Oakhurst so I did and had my car towed. They said we need to run a diagnostic check cost 165.00 sure I said and two hrs later they called me to tell me my sensor for cam shaft wasn't responding. Total cost for everything 483.00 I highly recommend Tire Pros for being upfront and honest throughout the whole process integrity is when you do the right thing when know one is watching. When you have a flat tire, needless to say, you are not having a very good day. You've just noticed the low-pressure warning, or, even worse, you heard the telltale *kerchunks* of a flat. It's hot or cold or raining and you're on the side of the road cursing up a storm trying to remember exactly how to change a tire because you never listened to your parents about how important that is. Maybe the kids are screaming, your partner is exhausted, and you just want to get home. You pull out your phone, thank the gods of cell phone reception that you have enough 5g to google a tire shop nearby, and hope that they can help you. I found myself in this situation (sans kids, but definitely with the heat) and asked the guys at O'Reilly where to go. They recommended Sullivan's where I was greeted and helped promptly. While I was told that they didn't have my tires, they could get them in the next day. I was then heaped with the kind of help, advice, and friendliness that I have seen rarely in my automotive misadventures. In less than 24 hours, I was driving off with new tires and a smile on my face. How often can you say that -- that you leave a tire shop smiling? Additionally, they provided me with a significant amount of information and advice on my vehicle, explained how other shops had led me astray, and provided recommendations for both their own shops and shops in the area. They missed quoted a price for a transmission service to me and said they would do it anyway I walked home in 106' then they called me said it's impossible to do the job without a scanner I walked back and got my truck it was all a lie! I talked to my transmission guy 200 miles away and then I talk to the dealership they are dishonest! Shameful! The customer service at Sullivan's is next level. I was up in Yosemite for a few days and my front left wheel came loose on my truck and I snapped a lug. I showed up on a slammed Monday morning and Jim and Brian got me in first thing and had my truck diagnosed by Troy. Surely they were able to replace my broken lug and got me back on the road. Got a quote for $400 to replace front brake pads and rotors. Also had a check engine light come on and to fix whatever it was, they quoted me somewhere between $100-200 to fix it. Note these are two separate events. I left and bought my own equipment and tools and did all the work myself. The brakes and rotors cost me $60. (Resurfaced 2 rotors for $30 at O'Reilly's and 2 brand new performance carbon fiber brake pads for another $30). Also turns out that the code for the vehicle said that my gas cap was open and took 2 seconds to fix. Literally. For $0!!!! Never going to any mechanic that would rip you off this way. Just going to do all repairs at home that are within reason. Otherwise I'll take it to my girlfriend's dad who knows a lot about cars. read more

Had a 8:00am appointment this morning for an oil change and tire rotation. Arrived about 5 minutes early. The folks at the front desk was friendly and informative about the process. Since this was my first time at Sullivan's Tire Pros they gave me a $10.00 coupon for the cost of my tire rotation, so basically it was free. They topped off my fluids and checked the brakes, and air filter. The oil change came out to $106.30 (with the oil, oil filter, oil disposal, oil service prep kit, drain plug gasket, and oil change labor). They took my vehicle in at 8:08am and was done by 8:50am. Took TWICE AS LONG....Estimate for 1.5 to 2 hours to replace starter/battery....took almost 4 hours! Tech even said at end "20 minutes more"; took twice as long 45 minutes later! Tech left dirty rags inside vehicle, messed up all the paperwork inside glove compartment, left small paper Code for screen at bottom of glove compartment (outside of bag) and did not securely reset screen so NO clock, no radio, no screen as I drove away! Had to turn around and return to shop to fix (another 20 minutes more waiting) while tech fanned through multiple manuals looking for code strip (taken out earlier and left at bottom of glove compartment by 1st tech! Cancelled appt; never coming back! BTW, there is NO documentation when they provide you a "Summer Safety Check"....even when I asked for it! read more

Disappointing. And untrustworthy. Brought it in for a heater core replacement. Later I was in town and saw my car do a burn out. When I confronted the owner Mike Sullivan about the reckless test drive he was extremely unprofessional and childish and came out yelling at me. Afterwards the button to the cruise control broke, and didn't work, power outlets didn't work afterwards so I had to take it back. They have had my car for over four weeks now and I have not heard any closure about the reckless test drive and still waiting to get my car fixed. Beyond mad. To make matters worst I went to pick up my car because I needed to drive it even though it is still waiting to be fixed and I see it in the parking lot with the window and the trunk cracked open. Thank goodness I took everything valuable out before hand. read more

Terrible. In every way. I thought it was weird when I got tires put on a couple years ago for my sensors to be broken after! Super unprofessional at the counters (Jim). I thought I'd give them another shot so I took a vehicle there for inspection only and after 5.5 hours I decided to call to check in because it was supposed to take 3 hrs. They Removed the weights from the tires on a vehicle they were only inspecting and never said a word?! But if they deny their actions they aren't accountable right? So as I expected they said "we didn't do that" Unfortunate but we learned to NEVER go here again. Be mindful your vehicle will come out with something broken or missing off of it. read more

These guys are Angels. My car broke down in Oakhurst while my baby and wife were stranded in Yosemite with Nothing. It wouldn't start, lights wouldn't light up, the prognosis was not good. A few of these guys stayed after hours to troubleshoot my problem and were able to work some witchcraft to get it running. I am forever grateful to them. This year they solved several problems for my 1999 GMC van, with great results and at less cost than what I was expecting. This update is long overdue. I recently got a job at an Auto Parts store and do most of my work myself. However, there are some things I can't do. This is where Sullivan's comes into play. I almost didn't write this, as I feel like this was a very unique experience for me, and probably Sullivan's likewise. I feel like I am cherry picking, but I really think my experiences go to show the honesty these businessmen portray. Hence, the reason the common Yelp user is reading this. Recently, I had a horrible experience with an unnamed dealership in Fresno with my truck. I was quoted $4,200 for a new wiring harness. From my radiator all the way to the ECM apparently. Details are shaky. I was never given part numbers, anything. Rather, Lithia told me "You work at AutoZone. Look up your own s**t on AllData." No way, I'm letting Sullivan's take a look at it before i spend that much. Tommy had me a presyncopal mess when he told me as I walked into the door "You here to pick your truck up? It's ready! We literally just pulled it out of the bay!" Um, no actually. I was just in the area wanting to see the progress. Well, darn. Ok, let me get the funds and I'll pick it up tomorrow. Is it less than the four thousand I was anticipating? Tommy; that'll be $230.96 my friend. *I almost wanna pass out again* say that again, Tommy? He repeats himself 3 times while I'm wondering am I dead? Is this for real? Did my soda get spiked with ayahuasca and I'm missing the other 3k he's probably talking about? Nope! Reality sets in. Sullivan's managed to fix my wiring harness, with what you may ask? 6 16-14 guage butt connectors. Dorman brand too I think! So, no, had Sullivan's have put in a new wiring harness, that bill may have been just as much, who knows. I have no evidence to prove or disprove that statement without the proper part numbers or labor estimate, never given by the dealer. But to see my truck running, after being told my 2007 Titan with only 98k miles was going to go to the junkyard after a trade in? I'm speechless to this day 2 hours of labor and 6 butt connectors. Rock on, Sullivan's. +10 for honesty, +10 for your service, +10 for saving me $4,000 -50 stars on this review for almost dying from the shock. But I'll give you a free pass :) Folks, I'm not saying every repair bill will have a better ending than Twilight every time, but i do know you can count on one thing here. Honesty. My car wouldn't run so I had it towed to Sullivan tire pro to have them diagnose the problem and fix it. I also had them replace the valve cover gaskets. It cost me nearly $2500.00. They also told me that the water pump was leaking and needed replacing. I just had that done 2 years prior. When I got it back my wife drove it to Fresno and barely made it back home. I took it back in and they got the problem fixed. A few days later the check engine light came back on. I took it back in and they said the coils and plugs were bad and charged me another $150.00. You would think after spending $2500.00 they would diagnose the problem for free. They told me it wasn't anything they did so I had to pay. Come to find out when they removed the valve cover gaskets they had to remove the coils to get them. All the research I've done it's standard practice to replace the spark plugs and coils anytime you do the valve cover gaskets because when you disturb them they always malfunction shortly after. Every mechanic I've talked to told me that Sullivan should have told me this and recommended that I replace them while they were in there. They wanted another $900.00 to replace them when they should have done this while they had the valve covers off. I also found a screw in the timing belt cover only in halfway and it's missing 2 others. They did the timing belt the same time they did the water pump. I've had other problems with this company also. They lost two of my kia hub covers when I had wheels switched out that they could never find. I will never do business with Sullivan again and will not recommend them to anyone. Very dissatisfied customer. read more

You can do better. Went here to have the tires replaced on my Dodge Ram. Things started off normal, but got progressively worse. 1. Was scheduled for an 11am appointment, and led to believe it would be a quick job because "Jim" suggested I could grab a bite to eat at the brewery across the street. However, I was never told that the entire garage staff takes an hour lunch at noon. When I called to check on the progress (from the brewery) I was told that they hadn't even started due to lunch and that they would start at 1pm. Mind you it was 11:30 at the time. 2. They found $1,820.90 worth of things that needed to be fixed before they could properly align the vehicle. Fine, its a truck so no big deal if it isn't aligned 100% I'll pass on that thanks. I asked out of all those fixes, which do you think is the most important to have done in terms of safety. Again, "Jim" recommended replacing the left hub bearing. However, he told me that they couldn't work on it until next week, and that he wouldn't let me "drive it off the lot if he thought it was dangerous". 3. After picking up my truck and driving home to Coarsegold, the damn hood came unlatched driving down the hill on Road 416/420 due to not being closed properly. I had to pull over and properly shut the hood. WTF!? 4. Less than 20 miles after having the tires replaced the left front hub bearing failed. When I called the shop to speak to "Jim" about our prior discussion regarding the hub bearing, I was given new information about how when lifted the entire left front wheel showed movement back and forth when pushed, yet I was never told that the first time and was assured that driving it off the lot was safe. Now I'm no mechanic, but to me tires seem pretty fundamental to a vehicle and if they are wobbly, I sure as hell wouldn't want to be driving that vehicle anywhere. "Jim" should have stressed the wobbly wheel the first time, and not given me the impression that the vehicle was safe to take off the lot without being fixed. My gut instincts tell me that these guys are less than professional and deal in shady business practices. Don't be fooled by the name, this is no family business and it certainly isn't run by a family business that takes pride in their name. Get some real mechanics and sales reps who know what the hell they're doing morons! ADDENDUM: Mike S. must have complained to Yelp regarding Privacy when I posted a picture of his quote reflecting the price. I wouldn't believe anything this guy says because he's proven he is a pure liar who doesn't know how to run his business with honesty and integrity. Stay clear from this place.
