Over the years I've found that the only way I stay engaged with fitness is to join small…read moregroup/semi-personal training or to join scheduled classes. In other words, I need to commit to scheduled appointments because I feel more accountability to follow through. Whereas, if I just joined a gym or tried working out on my own, it's too easy for me to push exercise aside for later. When I moved to New York in 2017 I started from scratch in finding a place to belong and get motivated. So for about a year I postponed that and consequently my fitness sagged. I didn't feel overweight but I did feel disappointed in myself for losing so much strength and tone. Finally I found Booty by Rudi and the awesome Tiffany Rudi. Her approach to teaching barre was so energetic, that I finally felt the engagement I'd been missing. In the last couple of years I have taken Tiffany's signature group barre classes and eventually started working one-on-one with her for strength + barre combo training. She is excellent at tailoring movements to each student's needs, even taking time in busy group classes to offer alternative movements for different fitness levels or specific injuries. I am currently 4 months pregnant and want to keep up my prenatal fitness; she's worked with me through this transitional time. Sometimes during a session I feel that fatigue we all sometimes feel when working out. If I was on my own, I'd probably just stop. But with Tiffany coaching me, whether amid a group or one-on-one, she keeps the enthusiasm and encouragement flowing so that I want to live up to the goal. I keep going or get back into a movement and finish it out. Tiffany has been fabulous one-on-one adapting our strength training to my changing needs, yet I feel stronger than ever and have been better able to keep up my energy levels. I feel that I'm really set up well to gain pregnancy weight at a healthy rate and bounce back faster postnatally.

First off, I have been member of OTF and usually attend to 2 other locations due to work. This place has been pending opening awhile as a result of C19 but it appears to have started off well. The volume of individuals at the 630am/7am sessions have increased and the place is clean, new and spacious. WIDE center aisle between the treads and rowers is appreciated and the equipment on the workout floor is pretty complete with heavier dumbbells than you may find in other locations. The circuit workout is an offshoot of HIIT so if you understand and can appreciate the value of a high intensity, interval type workout, you will enjoy the level of training and intensity, atmosphere, music and motivational attitudes. Coaches Kate and Sarah have been very good! Leadership and customer service has been solid from my experiences as they already know my name as I enter and greet me using it. I would say they have received solid training on customer engagement. As to cleanliness, they are following all C19 protocols and I have seen them disinfect and clean equipment and the facility in between classes, so I personally have no worries there. BTW, I am a 50 something YO male. Enjoying the experience and continue to drinking the Kool Aid! B

I rocked a virtual TRX class with Mike (cuz I'm stuck all the way in Chicago and the commute would be hell), and he killed it. The video quality and sound was great, and the camera was in the perfect place. Too many times virtual classes are an afterthought during live classes, but Mike's cues and demos of the moves made it super easy to follow along. We rocked intervals with moves at our own pace, and then returned to the moves moving in unison together as a group (think 3 seconds up, 1 second down, etc.). It gave us a real chance to master the moves while burning out the correct muscle group. The playlist kicked ass, I appreciated the modifications offered, and it was a full body workout. Final verdict? Virtual workouts done right. Now get your ass to virtual class!

http://www.legacyfitnessonline.net/About-Us.html…read more Everybody has a gym membership these days but not all gyms are the same. Nestled right in the heart of Five Towns is this gem of a fitness place. THE SKINNY: They are located above the Brachs supermarket (used to be a bowling alley back in the days) . Legacy Fitness has been open for 7 years, do not advertise and have gained clients completely by word of mouth. You wouldn't even know its there because there is only a door with no sign leading you to the gym floor. Even though they are located in the center of a lot of gyms, they have had 100% retention rate from the first day they have opened. That is unheard of. THE MUSCLE: The trainers are very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Most people go to the gym for workout classes then will come here for personal training. The owner, Christian Mendoza, specializes in post rehab workouts and getting you back on your feet but he also has a major focus on your health, not just your physical attributes. I have belonged to Gold's gym, Planet Fitness, NY sports club and Synergy and have never received the attention to detail that I get from here. The gym is always super clean. There is a room dedicated to your cardio with top of the line machines (eliptical, treadmills, etc) and a separate room focused on building your strength. There are some free weights and machines but you will have a personal trainer helping you do the exercises correctly, keep your motivation high and encourage you to do what is necessary for you to reach your goals. I walk out feeling satisfied with my success every time. Think of those P90X and Insanity videos....now imagine they are really in the room and not just on the TV. THE BMI : If you live in the neighborhood and want a quality place to workout, get your butt over to the gym. Not just any gym, Legacy Fitness. It is the best experience you will have. **UPDATE** Click on the link to an article about the gym. It says it all. http://yitzgrossman.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Christian-Mendoza.pdf

The Staff at Legacy Fitness is the BEST you can find! As a former employee at a major gym and…read moreathlete, I have worked out with several trainers and was very curious to learn what all the buzz of this place was all about. After an injury, I had stopped going to the gym and lost all motivation. I knew I needed to take action, as I was feeling very sluggish, weak, and easily worn out. However, I was very nervous to re-injure myself and wind up out of commission again. A friend recommended me to Christian Mendoza, the owner of the gym. After speaking to him and learning about his passion for helping people, personalized approach to fitness, and overcoming a serious injury himself, I knew I was in good hands. From my very first workout ( free trial) I could see the difference! Now, this is not your average gym and definitely not your average trainers, that you may find at a chain fitness center. The style of training is unique and truly individualized to a persons needs. The staff is highly skilled and experienced. I was constantly kept motivated and encouraged to push myself to do my best. Minor things, that other trainers wouldn't notice, such as slightly incorrect positioning, breathing, or muscle spasms were immediately ackowledged, helping me avoid issues. The atmosphere inside was perfect too, being a small facility with a limited amount of people ( most I have seen was 3 others) at any given time, I was never intimidated to do things. I'm so glad that I have found Legacy and would recommend it to anyone out there, especially if you may require special attention or are someone who is trying to get back into the swing of things after not being active for a while. These guys are truly exceptional at what they do.
