I don't find myself drawn to write reviews, but this experience comes as a welcomed exception…read more Recently I was up against a time-sensitive tax matter and found myself in a chase to find counsel to quickly assist. I had spotted the firm's name a number of times in years past on San Diego billboards but beyond that I was unfamiliar with RJS. Thankfully, when I dialed their offices I was met with an immediate warm greeting and full attention to my matter. What followed was a refreshing exchange with one of their attorneys. At the time I was traveling overseas and their team managed to make my top priority, their priority - working with my time zone challenges, panicky manner (never want to be on the opposing side of the FTB), and my half-baked understanding of the underlying issue. Their team was thorough, efficient, and above all informative and calming. What felt like a gigantic mountain to climb became a matter that together we resolved. Grateful for the professionalism and personal care shared with me. I don't wish for any future tax issues, but if issues arise in the future, I know whose shoulder I'm leaning on for trustworthy counsel. Thank you, Team RJS. JTA

He really gave sound advice and was upfront about the costs to work with them. My audit was too small to justify the cost, BUT I would've paid for their services if my audit was in the tens and thousands. I really appreciate you, Chris. You really helped us out today and took the stress away by giving me the steps - which were way easier than I thought. Thanks for making it simple to understand.

*This review is for the service and not the quality of work*…read more I originally tried to get hold of the firm to get an appointment for a few questions and potentially some tax prep assistance for a new business. The AI agents were horrible, kept sending me through the same loop, and ultimately I gave up and left a 3*. After their prompt response by a real person to set up an appointment, I decided to take down my review to potentially leave a better one if things went well. I was scheduled for an appointment about a week out, and at the time of the appointment, I called the number and received another virtual assistant (not AI to my knowledge), who told me that the person I had the appointment with was on another call. I left my number and was never contacted, until about 3 weeks later, by email calendar invite, telling me that another appointment had been set up in another week or two. I already got my issues handled by another CPA and will be working with that other firm in the future. I hope this firm here gets their virtuals and artificials straightened out soon

(She wasn't interested in running the clock until she fully knew our situation.) After we reached out to her, she first asked to see the lease agreement. And then, after fully reviewing, she gave a return call that very same night (yes, she's on it!), quickly identifying our best possible options. Although she felt we had a terrific shot at winning a case against our retaliatory landlord on law/principle alone, she suggested that we not pursue court/legal action because the attorneys would more than likely be the only ones to be financially compensated at the end of the day. Tough to hear but good to know. Truly refreshing candor! As a result of her compassionate and sound advice, we saved tremendously on legal fees and resolved the dispute with our former tyrannical landlord with her step-by-step guidance. Thank you, Ms. Lynn!

The…read morenext business day when he called me I tried to ask him about it again and he gave me a totally different answer. I questioned him about the answer and he got another attitude, then hung up on me. This happened one other time with a different probate attorney. As soon as they start getting insulting with you that means that they don't respect you and plan on using you for whatever you're worth. There should never be a reason why these guys cannot answer or even re-answer questions, considering they're working with people who are usually in distress, who are mourning or the elderly. They're also getting paid an enormous amount of money, out of your/ my pockets. A wild coincidence happened no more than a hour after I talked to this gentleman. The probate lawyer from the other people involved in this called me and let me know they've corrected some things that they could not have known unless someone told them. I only told one person, Tom. My intuition tells me that the same person got in contact with them and let them know what I told him out of spite. I can't prove that, but I could testify to everything else I wrote. Always listen to your intuition and record everything w these people.
