I'm Anand from Austin, Texas. I have been charged for past 7 weeks from my bank account for the food service (7 × $100 ) but haven't received any food delivery. I contacted them multiple times but no one picks up the phone (9048780878). I left multiple messages on WhatsApp too, but the messages are sent but not received for some reason. Not sure if they blocked me or something. I even sent messages on their Facebook page. It suddenly looks like they closed their business after they received my complaint. I was a regular tiffin subscriber from them in stamford. A lot of times the lentin tasted sour as it was not fresh. The roti from them had fungus ( which they said is flour) once. I had to throw my items sometime because they went bad in 2-3 days after the delivery as they might have prepared them a lot earlier. So, be careful with ordering tiffin from them. Please see the message from the owner after reading my review. I can vouch that my review is 200 percent true. But it seems the owner is not at all willing to take any feedback and improve on the food/business. I actually gave a very good review to them after my 2nd order because i really loved the food. Probably they deliver good food only the first few times... So the owner didn't believe my review and I had to send the pic of my garbage as a proof. And look at this response in pic 5. Just had the worst experience one could ever have with a "customer-focused" company. I learnt about Sukhmani Foods last week from a friend and was super excited to try it out. So much so that me and my friend decided to place our first order and then start a subscription for each of us the following week. I placed an order on Thursday (Jan 31, 2019) last week and on the last page they had a calendar where I could select "Sunday" for the day of delivery. Also paid $10 for their so-called "Sukhmani's Discounted Next Day Fresh Delivery". This BTW by no means means that the food will be delivered the next day. Read below. Anyways, we were excited to receive the food on Sunday and did not cook anything for the week. Sunday morning I receive a very casual email from the company saying that your food will be shipped on Monday (no mention of the delivery day). It only gets worse from here. I called up on their number and no one answered the call which was the second Red Flag. Then we called from my friend's number and the call was answered in less than 30 seconds. There was a guy who took the order details from my friend and very easily goes on to say that your order will be delivered on Tuesday (Feb 5, 2019) coming week. At which point I took the phone and asked the gentleman what was the point of next day delivery and why was his calendar even giving us an option of Sunday when it wasn't possible. At this point he starts shouting at me and tells me its my mistake that I did not read all the policies on their website and its further my mistake that I did not read their FAQs. Why the HELL ON EARTH would I read their FAQs when I was able to place the order successfully? It did not end there. This guy continued yelling at me and speaking over me as if he was the customer and I was running the business. His only explanation was that my order wasn't local which is bizarre as their kitchen is in the same state. He went on to claim that he has thousands of satisfied customers while yelling at me at the same time. Still did not end there. I told him that he should learn about customer service from Amazon and he further shocked me by saying that he wouldn't care about customer experience until he gets as big as Amazon. At which point I realized that he was a lost case and there was no point arguing with him any further. Still does not end there. He told me everything including that he is 46 years old and that his father is sitting next to him watching him yell, but still didn't bother offering an apology, forget offering a refund on the shipping or any other gesture. When nothing else worked in his defense, he simply claimed that this is not even his business and that it is run by his wife, basically claiming that I was in a yelling match with the wrong person for the last 15 min. I feel sorry for the wife who must be putting her heart and soul in the business and her husband is on a mission to ruin her business, forget even getting close to something like Amazon. Not only are me and my friend NOT subscribing to Sukhmani Foods anymore, we are going to recommend others not to subscribe to this pathetic service. With many options out there, if you are still desperate to order from Sukhmani Foods, please order 5 days in advance and make alternate arrangements for yourself until then. I guess this is what happens when people with no business training end up running a business. read more

Sukhmani foods has really impressed me with the quality and taste of their food. For the longest time I was using another tiffin service and just made a jump to sukhmani and I am really happy with the decision. Comes very close to "Ma ke hath ka khana." Clearly the food was made with a lot of love and I could totally feel it. I also had a minor issue when I was trying to place the order for the 2nd time and the gentleman who I spoke with was incredibly polite and resolved the issue within seconds. I can totally see them growing their customer base soon and I hope the quality remains intact the way it is now as they scale. Thank you for taking my food problems off my plate. read more

Appears I late to the review party here. Sukhmani foods is truly the worst food delivery service I've come across. Here's my experience with them after recently starting a weekly 7 meal subscription & after 3 weeks I had to cancel it. The good, bad & ugly experience I encountered: Good: 1. Menu options were exciting. 2. Shipping for the first 2 orders came on time (in fact the 2nd week was a day earlier). Bad: 1. First weekly package was missing 1 item. 2. Quantities are inconsistent - Dal type dishes were large & paneer or vegetable dishes were very small. 3. By end of week 2 we found that the dishes either refrigerated & eaten a few days later or frozen & thawed & eaten a few days later all had a weird sour taste to them. Like a preservative is being added to food & as it ages it becomes a very distinct taste & smell! Ugly: 1. No response from customer service through all channels they recommend - website enquiry, email, phone call & FB messenger. 2. I was charged for my 3rd week subscription, but did not receive anything. It is unfortunate i missed these reviews before signing up for a subscription. Seems like very similar themes with most of the reviews. As of this morning, I notice their website is not reachable. Maybe they shut shop after scamming customers like us or because of their poor service as the worst delivery service, they ran their business to the ground. Either way, I hope they don't scam more unsuspecting customers. read more

If you want to get fresh food on time, this is not the place for you. The last two times I ordered food - the fist time the food was stone cold and not fresh at all. The second time, the food did not get delivered at all, and I had to order pizza. This is a totally unprofessional organization, and you will be better served by visiting a local Indian Restaurant. read more

Sukhmani foods is one of the best home made food I have ever tried!! Its an excellent home cooked food with perfect blend of oil and spices. The food is totally fresh and taste is excellent. Its a big gift for families who are don't have time to cook food at home but wanna eat home made indian food after being dead tired working whole day! I would suggest everyone to try, even if you can cook at home, please try Sukhmani dishes. The taste is awesome!! The food is not at all heavy and oily just like indian restaurant food which gives heartburn. So guys I fully recommend to try it. Its worth trying delicious Indian meal. read more

I ordered late last night, my delivery came less than a day later, and my roommate and I are thoroughly enjoying it! What a cool service! At first I was nervous because it was vegetarian food only, and most of my meals have a meat component. But that fear was unnecessary - meat is not at all needed here! The ingredients are flavorful and substantive enough on their own, and then some! The other fun part is that this has already proven itself a great way to try lots of different Indian dishes. Normally when I go to an Indian food restaurant, I default to ordering the same few items over-and-over again. This service is a way to better experience the whole variety of a wonderful cuisine, all at a very cost-effective price with convenient delivery. In short, very much recommend! read more

Sukhmani Foods was much needed in this area (Norwalk, CT). The food is delicious, non-oily and very much homestyle. Perfect to be eaten everyday. The owners are very responsive to any questions and feedback on the food, which shows that they are willing to adjust to the customer's needs. They also provide roti, which is so much easier than having to make own rotis at home and tons better than the frozen rotis. The weekly delivery is very affordable and convenient. I highly recommend trying Sukhmani Foods and deciding for yourself. read more
