We really appreciated the level of security to the rooms. The aesthetics of the Hilton are stunning. While the restaurants and bars inside weren't occupied when we passed by they were very inviting. Our room was a king room with all the amenities one would expect. The mini fridge was operational which is nice as that isn't always the case. The lighting didn't have any guesswork and the bathroom facilities including the shower head were all luxury level. Whether you're on business or leisure, having access to the Expo, Midtown shopping and the Fresko grocery store makes the Hilton Midtown an excellent stay.

Addotionally, I was disappointted to find that the Mujeres Latina marichi group---one of the Hotel's primary entertainment highlights-- has been replaced by a lower-level performance mariachi. It is part of the luxurious Quinta Real brand, which often places their hotel properties in historical buildings. The Guadalajara property was actually built in 1986, but constructed as a traditional colonial-style hacienda on land once owned by the Martinez family. It has been described as an oasis, and that is a perfect impression. When you step inside, you're enclosed by high stone walls, reminiscent of a castle or palazzo, surrounded by lush gardens, birdsong, splashing fountains, antiques, and artwork by artists such as Sergio Bustamante. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in and elegant indoor/outdoor restaurant. Everything is hushed and refined, in direct contrast with the noise and traffic just outside the doors. The very best part of the experience, however, was the impeccable, accommodating, and kind staff. We both felt so pampered, without any sort of stiffness. ours was a truly wonderful stay and we cannot recommend the Quinta Real enough.

Had to stand in line again to be checked in and finally got a room. Front end staff are awful, not attentive, friendly or helpful. The room is a bit less than what you expect of an AC but comfortable and ours was clean. The breakfast at the restaurant and the staff made up for the unpleasant welcome. The staff at the pool area were good too. Food was good there as well, but it gets loud since you are right next to the pool and loungers. Location was okay, but not withing walking distance to places. You will need to take and Uber or taxi if you want to venture out. I will not consider this hotel for the future and will find a better location.

The TV has different apps, and it isn't that user-friendly. Be careful of the step up into the bathroom. I banged up my arm doing so. The location is good, only one good restaurant close by.

Every positive adjective you can imagine. Here's a specific example of what I mean: When departing, it's typical for one to say "hasta luego" ("until later") or "hasta pronto" ("until soon") to the staff in the lobby. And their response is typically the same. But at the Hotel Real Maestranza the doorman responds, "Estaremos esperando" ("We'll be waiting"). It's a very small thing, but it makes a world of difference. Our room was quiet; the linens were the highest quality, and I was pleased to have a LOT of pillows. Housekeeping was to a very high standard. And we had a spectacular view of the city. In terms of a base of operations for exploring Guadalajara, one couldn't ask for more. (Our room did have a slight odor in the bathroom. That's common to Mexican plumbing. It didn't bother me so long as we kept the door closed and the fan running. Normally I would deduct a star for this, but the overall experience was so satisfying it seems like I'm looking for things to quibble over, so I'll stop.) The location is perfect; just far enough from the cathedral plaza to be out of the crowds, but centrally-located enough that everything the city has to offer is close-to-hand. The faucet sprayed water on us every time we turned it on after being unused for more than five minutes. We reported it a few times and it was never repaired. The most surprising problem with Demetria is the lack of basic amenities. The room was freezing and there were no extra blankets. We called downstairs twice and it took over 20 minutes to receive one. I don't particularly like staying up waiting for an item that should be stocked in the room. The list continues: no hair dryer (had to request and sign for), no shower gel, no bath robes, and no turndown service. The front desk didn't have a city map and one of the clerks couldn't even tell us where to go for coffee in the neighborhood. We were offered a map within five minutes of being seated for coffee at Casa Habita. Finally, an oversized bathtub but no special bath soaps or even house shoes. Each of these complaints may seem minor, but when combined, they reflect a poorly run hotel or a budget that is too tight to achieve the level of expectations for a first-class property.

Don't come to this place, customer service was low grade.
