He said we needed to be on the guest list three days in advance. I asked him if that was really true and he just let us in after asking what the youngest age in our group was. I kept my junk with me because I don't trust anyone. Anyway, coat/bag check should be free and mandatory for security purposes. I wasn't frisked and my purse wasn't checked either. I ain't packing heat though. There are a good amount of bars and getting a drink doesn't take forever. A tiny Coke cost me 50 SEK. Not too bad, but don't the non alcohol drinkers get kudos for making sure everyone is safe?! Downstairs was music I've never heard before. Upstairs was more of the same. House and dance. I really don't do dance clubs. But, I found a room, directly up the stairs, that played R&B and hip hop. Needless to say, that was where we stayed. We had just finished dinner down the street and weren't ready to head back to the hotel yet. This place came up on Yelp as a good bar in our location so we went to check it out. It's a nice space with fun lighting, a large bar with four sides right in the middle of the main room- smart placement to maximize access to the bar. There are a few tables and chairs lining the sides of the main room. The side room has a great long booth and a couple tables in the front are facing large windows with a view of the street. We just grabbed a couple cocktails and had a great time chatting with the friendly server. Since we pretty much had the place to ourselves we just relaxed, enjoyed our drinks, and listened to the travel stories of our server. It was a great way to end the night and it sounds like this place gets super packed on weekend nights. I wish we hadn't been too tired to find out, but if we ever end up back in Stockholm, we'll definitely check this place out again.

There's maybe two places that really make a proper drink in Stockholm. Very few places have great service. The standard approach of anyone working at a restaurant is that it's a temporary thing or it's that they have never experienced amazing service. East is an amazing example of how it goes... They have the makings of a good place. It's nice inside, it's got a good alcohol selection, the sushi isn't amazing but it's good. The drink I wanted was made with ginger ale and not ginger beer, big diff to those who don't know. The service left me wondering if they had a bad hangover. Rough night? Will I be here again? Likely. Will I be looking forward to it? Not really.
