One of my very good friends recommended Jenni for sugaring services as well as eyebrows. Personally, I had never dared to venture out and explore options to let someone touch my eyebrows, and though I realize there are professionals out there (Jenni, coming to find the best!), I rather opted out and kept my natural eyebrows which I was not very comfortable nor fully satisfied with. I don't wear make up and figured putting makeup on eyebrows would be terrible as a beach goer (water ruining them, looking one way one day and completely different another when not in the water). My natural go-to is natural little to no make up and having Jenni help fill in and give me a fuller eyebrow look was the best decision I could have made. I was very nervous and Jenni eased my worries by explaining the process of it all. She is extremely professional and will have paperwork explaining the whole process to ensure you are sure, comfortable and ready. She stops along the way and has you look and be sure you like it or change anything. Sometimes, artists can be a bit moody or determined in their artistic opinion of what is best suited for you not leaving much room for your feedback/preferences, and Jenni is the opposite of that. Bc when you lie down and the lighting used for the work can make your eyebrows look a diff color as opposed to standing up with more natural light, she takes the time to ask you to stand up and hold a close up mirror and a regular mirror and waits for you to decide and will make any changes you like without feeling rushed. I have never done any type of bikini waxing/sugaring so I was a bit nervous, but Jenny! Jenny is the absolute best! Does it hurt? A little..it's hair removal, I won't tell you it doesn't, but it is absolutely tolerable and SO incredibly worth it! I have sensitive skin and had no ingrown hairs or skin irritation. Bringing another person into my hair removal rituals is very, very new to me. This review is coming from the perspective of a person with 29 years of well-ingrained body shame and self-loathing. So, this will probably be a useful review for you if you have a similar background and are curious about what it's like to enter this realm of bodily upkeep. I usually shave or tweeze. Eyebrows and underarms. Only experience I've had similar to sugaring is when I used to get my eyebrows waxed. I never got it done regularly and eventually stopped because service/results were inconsistent, and it just wasn't very pleasant. As for my skin, I'm really emotionally sensitive about my dark underarms. I assumed I'd just always have dark skin discoloration plaguing my armpits. They were like baby forests with deep, stubborn roots... not at all like the women's underarms you see on TV or magazines. Even if a woman shows her armpits with hair, their skin in the area matches the rest of their body. It's an annoying thing to envy! I scheduled an impulsive, first-timer appointment with Jenny after becoming inspired by a YouTuber who discussed how to lighten dark spots in sensitive areas, like inner thighs and underarms. The YouTuber talked about getting brazilians like they were nothing. Same with underarms--they even did a demo of how they waxed at home. It was refreshing to hear someone talk about these things so openly. I found myself feeling really encouraged to try something new. Trying sugaring seemed like the best option. Now that I've done it, I can confidently say that it lives up to the hype. And of course, half the battle is finding the right person to help you with it. When you think of getting hair from the nether regions of your body ripped out, "enjoyable" is not the first word that comes to mind. But my experience as a first-timer with Jenny was legit enjoyable. I had a full brazilian and underarms done. She made me feel so freakin' comfortable. I was just another human with hair who wanted to remove it, and hopefully see my underarm skin lighten in the process. I didn't feel judged at all for the body stuff I felt self-conscious about. I was able to have an easygoing conversation with her (with pauses that didn't feel awkward), while she was working on me. It felt like we were both genuinely interested in learning about each other's experiences. And the results speak for themselves. No pics, but trust, my baby forests are gone and the red bumps that came up during the session (which I learned is normal) have gone away. As time goes on and my body adjusts to the sugaring aftermath, my newly hairless areas look and feel better and better. So if you're interested in sugaring, and can relate to any combination of the following circumstances: You deal with a lot of body shame You're new to hair removal with another person You just need an extra nudge to request an appointment I strongly recommend Jenny's sugaring! Here's some helpful info if you're considering: * The driveway to get to Jenny's location can be easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. You'll be entering a smoothly paved asphalt road with an incline. There is also a green sign for "PDT Beauty & Spa" to reassure you you're in the right place. * Grow your hair out before you go. Really. * The room you'll be in is super clean, and super organized. * I went while I had a tampon in. It was no big deal for me. If your periods are awful and painful, it's probably best to go when you're not bleeding or about to bleed. * The pain from the brazilian was a bit jarring at first, but I got used to it quick. Earlier I cut my leg while shaving and that was/is way more painful than the sugaring session. My last note: I will definitely keep going back. I was getting tired of spending 20+ minutes every day on my brows and I didn't really like the look of microblading. Jenny actually explained to me that microblading is super invasive and leaves you with a lot of scars so I'm glad I didn't go that route. First time customer - came in for a maintenance Brazilian as I am from out of state and due for appointment. Salon was very simple and clean. Was greeted at entrance, offered if I need to use the restroom before beginning (which is a great thing to offer and not something my salon does at home, I thought that was very good customer service). Was brought to room - loved the barn door decor- again great customer service was shown there are complimentary wipes if needed and towel to drape for modesty on the table. - again great customer service little additions not offered at my salon at home. Mikayla was great. Very professional and kept conversation with me. Almost entirely pain free!! Only 1-2 areas caused a brief moment of pain - definitely the least painful Brazilian ever (only my 3rd time sugaring)!!! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY 10/10 RECOMMEND for all your sugaring needs!!! Today was my second time getting a Brazilian sugaring session done here by Alli and it was amazing! I was 20 minutes early to my appointment and she let me come in early rather than waiting. Very polite and is really friendly! She's really easy to talk to as well and makes sure to lessen the pain to the best of her ability.
