So I wanna preface this by saying I'm insanely sensitive and have a very low tolerance for pain. I went to this try this sugaring experience because I was not a fan of waxing and never successfully waxed to completion. I have been here now twice and it has been a great success each time. Even though the first time I took a lot of breaks, was very sweaty and was being a bit crazy because it definitely was not painless, Kelly who i worked with was incredibly kind, nice, non-judgmental and did such a fantastic job that I had to come back a second time. The second time the pain was like 90% less and I worked with Amanda who did an incredible job of keeping me calm and talking through the process with me. I also loved how it came out and feel great about how it looks. I think I'm a sugaring convert and particularly appreciate the girls working here. I'll def be back. read more

I've gone here twice since my review & it's been the least painful it's been. It's little tips like breathing in & breathing out when they remove the sugar & applying pressure to the area sugared that has made my experience less painful. I made a note to Amanda that my suggestions were taken into consideration & it's so cool to see a company do that. Sugared + Bronzed is one of the best spray tan businesses in NYC. The rooms are clean (individual rooms, WITH A DOOR, by the way - that's not a given at most places), well-ventilated, and stocked with face masks, flip flops, hair nets, etc. The products are better than most too - they are clean and nourishing to your skin and seem to apply more evenly than others I've used, although that may just be that the technicians are better. This is the only spray tan business I go to anymore - it's worth it! read more

This was my first time with waxing or sugaring -- I did the sugaring Brazilian. The results were amazing - my hair thinned out ~50% and the hair takes way longer to grow back than usual. The skin is left feeling smooth and soft. The sugaring was a little less painful than a tattoo - if that's a good measure of pain. The second time I got sugared it barely hurt at all since my hair was much thinner. Don't let the pain deter you from getting sugared because it's really not bad. Also, if it hurts, just remember it's like 10 minutes and then you're done! read more

Wasent impressed honestly-- I told the lady I am usually pretty sensitive and that we had an extra fifteen minutes because the girl before me was a no show. We got in and got the bikini done in less then ten and meaning I had twenty minutes to continue the process for full Brazilian. I asked if it would be okay if we can cool the pace down because I couldn't keep up and she said sorry I'm booked up today and said no --- I left the store technically two minutes into my scheduled appointment meaning I had 18 minutes left - I expressed my disappointment to front desk -- she shrugged. ---------------------- Despite my unfortunate experience at the salon, I was promptly approached by the the owner trying to reconcile my situation. I was taken back at the level of enthusiasm and passion she held for her business. Everyone has their days and I feel like this is most likely what happened on the day I went in. The owner has offered me to come back in and I am open to trying the service again just probably with a different lady. After the owner reaching out I feel heard and the strides she took to make me feel comfortable afterwards was admirable . read more

Kelly is literally the best thing ever. & so is CJ who handles any escalated issues. Kelly is very attentive & soothing, paying attention to problem areas & listening to any concerns I have & made sure everything is done to my liking. CJ (I think that's her name) is very very very helpful. She has contacted me anytime I've had a complaint or problem & has always fixed it in ways that ensure I am a returning customer. I still hate the fact that there's hardly any appointments available, especially for those holding membership but being that another location will be opening soon, I'm sure it will get better. UPDATE. I still love this place but do NOT let Lucy touch you. She doesn't listen, is very sloppy, & does not see the hair that's left behind although I, who can only see my vagina with a mirror, saw all the hairs without. I've never gone to any other spray tan salon ever so I definitely can't compare it, unfortunately. That being said, I've been coming here for a few years now. I usually go right before a vacation, and I also came here right before my wedding. I had one bad experience here- basically due to an unprofessional employee, but I sent a letter about it to them and the owner reached out personally and gave me a bunch of credits and apologized profusely. Every experience since then has been great. - they typically start right on time. I love that. I'm an impatient person and it's always so annoying to be expected to be on time to salon appointments only to end up waiting for like ~20 minutes. Never had to deal with that here. - Their employees for the most part are friendly and professional, and have made me feel comfortable in my recent visits there. I'm not someone who just feels amazing and totally chill taking off my clothes and standing in a room while someone sprays me with cold air!! So that all being said, they do a good job of creating a relaxed atmosphere during the process. - You can tip on your card or in cash, either is fine. - It's reasonably priced and as long as you follow instructions and care for it, your tan will last 7-10 days as they say. - The Union Square location is super convenient and easy to find. It's also across the street from a nail salon. Which sounds convenient HOWEVER don't make the mistake I did once where I was truly just not thinking and marched right over to get a pedicure right after my tan AKA got the tan immediately washed off my feet and legs LOL what a mess. But I guess you could go there first and then to S&B after. Anyway, it's a nice spot and the process is really quick and painless and easy. I've never tried the sugaring services but tanning is A+. read more

My spray tan was completely uneven, and they removed the spray tan too far up my arm off my hands. I have never had a spray tan come off the way this one is coming off either. I truly look like a spotted leopard. No other spray tan solution has done this to me. read more

I sugared here with Emma yesterday, and I will never go back to waxing! My private area felt great after (not like after waxing where she's still in shock from the pain. Emma was great! Expensive, however if you get the right person like Amanda it'll be well worth it. I've done all kinds of waxes and sugaring is by far the best however I learned the hard way many places do sugaring differently. Sugared and bronzed does it the best. And to be honest my hair has grown back the least this method. I can only speak for Amanda however as far as service and how well the job is done, as I've gotten sugared by another person there and it wasn't the most pain free and took QUITE SOME TIME. Had a great first sugaring experience with Katie. She was very nice and explained the process thoroughly. Not going to lie, it is a bit uncomfortable/painful. Was more uncomfortable when they spread the sugar on than when they take it off, but Katie did her best to make it as easy as possible. I had an amazing experience at S & B last month. Came in for my very first spray tan, which I thought would look nice before leaving for a tropical destination wedding. Everyone that works there is super friendly, welcoming and professional. I was nervous at first, but the staff put me at ease and made the whole process very simple. So after selecting the best shade for me, the solution was expertly applied. I then had plenty of time to dry off and get dressed. After 2.5 hours, I rinsed off as instructed. My color was even and looked very natural. The next morning, after my tan was fully developed, I looked even better. I loved it so much! I was wondering why didn't I do this sooner??? The staff also reached out to me the next day and texted me to make sure all was fine and that I was happy with my results. As a first time bonus, there's a free future spray tan offered to you.
