UPDATE: I'm changing my review from 3 stars to 5 because the company reached out to me immediately to fix the situation. The customer service definitely makes up for my bad tan! I went for the first time and got an express tan so I could make sure I liked the results before I got a tan for my vacation. My first tan was amazing; not splotchy or orange and quite deep. However, my second tan was really not good. Unfortunately, now I am on the beach with really uneven, splotchy legs. I am really unhappy with this tan, and I wish you could request specific tanners rather than just getting the first available. I would go back if I could get the technician who I did my first tan, but without that guarantee it's too much of a gamble for me. Really disappointed. read more

I came for a second time two weeks ago to get a spray tan for a wedding I had that weekend and to test out a tan for my own wedding this fall, and my experience was great! EDIT - Adding 1 star for manager reaching out to help remedy the situation - will update once we reach a solution. Really appreciate the outreach in a city like NYC I thought I'd give this place a chance before reviewing, but they have consistently disappointed. I signed up for a monthly membership and have been to this location 3 times - each time for a brazilian sugaring. Now, I have been getting waxed or sugared like clockwork for literally a DECADE with the exception of a year off during the pandemic so I am 100% fine with the pain it takes to be ready for the beach. I have had the same person doing the sugaring each time - she is nice enough and civil, and I have been waiting to see if my hair growth cycles just need to sync up or something, but CONSISTENTLY I leave here with TONs of new stubble in the next 2-3 days. On top of that, it is the MOST excruciatingly painful application I've ever had. No doubt about it, the sugarist has really, really poor technique. When you apply the sugar, you're supposed to "mold" it aka press it firmly against the direction of hair growth so it gets to the roots of the hairs. This sugarist is 100% working with wax that is (1) WAY too gloppy (2) doing something absolutely WILD with tugging painfully on the hairs. Tiny clumps come out at one time. I needed to stop her at certain points - her literally applying the sugar onto the hair was WAY more painful than pulling it off! I have a pretty high pain tolerance but it was like someone was pulling ON not OUT tiny clumps of hair with a piece of duct tape. How on earth does this happen? Sugar temperature totally off and terrible technique... just not worth it. I'd rather get a $39 wax from a random nail salon read more

Hands down one of the worst sugaring experiences I have ever had. The application was excruciatingly painful. Now 1 week later there is so much growth because she didn't pull the hairs out by the root and I am left with the worst case of ingrown hairs all over. It is terrifying. I go here to get Brazilian sugaring. It's always been an amazing experience. Listen it's never completely comfortable when someone is ripping hair off your privates. But these ladies do an amazing job of trying to put you at ease and helping to lessen the awkwardness. The service itself is pretty fast and the results last way longer than waxing. The hair grows in much thinner after a few times sugaring. All the ladies are bomb but Amanda is my fav. Go here, ditch regular waxing trust me. read more

I have been getting sugaring on my brazillian area for months now each time different girls and all of them make me feel comfortable !!! My first Sugaring experience was in California with a sole proprietor and I enjoyed the experience. When moving back to NYC I tried to find true Sugaring with a ball of sugar to no avail. I just happened to walk by this gem and knew I had to schedule an appointment. The technician did the work. I was use to holding my own skin and she said nope that's what I'm here for. And then to top it off she used tweezers to clean the area and ensure that all hair was removed. I've NEVER experienced the tweezing part before but appreciated it. Great friendly staff. Already thinking about what day to come in for my next appointment. I've found my Sugaring home back in my hometown! read more

Sugared and Bronzed does a beautiful spray tan. It has always looked quite even for me. Because they use beets in the formula for the tanning agent, I find that the overall tone is cooler than some other spray tans and therefore more natural looking. During the service, the staff is friendly and warm, making you feel very comfortable and at ease. I once left an item behind in the room accidentally, and they were quick to retrieve it and contact me, keeping it safe until I was able to return! Appointment booking is easily and conveniently done online. In my opinion, the value of the service is very good for how nicely it comes out! I always get the express just because it's so convenient to be able to shower so soon after the service. Will definitely be back! read more

I've gotten two spray tans here and both have been really excellent. I usually have problems with streaking or blotchiness but don't have that here at S+B at all. After you've dried yourself it can appear really blotchy for the first hour or so, but that's just the top layer of bronzer. Once you shower off, the tan is SO incredibly even!! My tip: sleep in the tan overnight (your sheets might brown, but the color comes right off in the wash, even with crisp white sheets) so that the tan develops even more. I always go for elixir 2 for a dark glow. Highly recommend! read more

This has been the first place I've gotten a spray tan and have been really happy with the results! As a 'naturally' tan person who works 9-5 and doesn't get a lot of natural sunlight, it's been awesome to be able to schedule a tan online and not look like a vampire before a wedding or the holidays. Their 1st time promo is really great, and I've only had nice technicians here. I've gotten their Express tan and yes, you will feel sticky and potentially get any white clothing dirty, so only wear black or VERY dark colors you don't mind potentially getting a little orange. The tans have lasted a week for me, after diligently following the instructions on waiting before showering I haven't had any issues. Definitely read through their website FAQs and info on tan care i.e. get any manipedi's BEFORE your spray tan (otherwise you'll have your tan scrubbed off!) I'm happy to say I didn't turn out oompa loompa orange and the smell is faint/bearable the first few days (I prefer unscented, so the no added scent is great...or at least the no added strong scent). Thumbs up my go-to place for a spray tan pick-me-up. read more

It's always clean and the girls that work there are super helpful and make you feel really comfortable with the process especially if it's your first time getting a spray tan. Friendly service, pretty convenient booking minus needing to know your tan in advance cuz appointments fill up fast. Everyone is very nice and color instantly looks amazing. However, the color everyday that went by looked more and more orange and came off quickly! The tan really didn't last and 5 days later looks like I have a skin disease cuz splotchy. I bought the expensive tan extender and put on everyday, but didn't help one bit. Disappointed as I'm coming from great tanning salons in LA, however this place works when in a crunch and need some color. Would come back because of the quality staff and service but would hope the next tan lasts longer. read more
