I'm and just so happy this was a fun spot to get down at. Kim and Hannah are just amazing hostesses and bakers and run the best bakery that I have been to Nationwide. I ordered a warm banana muffin with brown sugar too and just melted in my mouth. So scrumptious!! I bought the party dip and cutest little gifts for my friends birthday later this month so I can mail those out. I'm glad my delivery was here and got to see these cute cabins and grab a yummy treat. My husband and I love eating at farm to table restaurants. After finding this place online, we…read moredecided to try it for lunch. The restaurant is very cozy and rustic. The employees were friendly. We both ordered the lamb burger, which consists of two smashed lamb patties, homemade pickles, American cheese, caramelized onions, and mayo on a buttery potato bun. For our sides, we ordered the macaroni and cheese. One downside is there aren't very many drink options to choose from. I'll start with the burger. My burger was greasy. The smashed patties tasted burnt and, on the patty's edges, were crispy, black...I don't know what to call them, but they tasted like the leftover bits from the grill. When I tried my husband's burger, his tasted better and, for the first time in our married life, I asked if we could trade. The macaroni and cheese is spiral pasta with white cheddar sauce and sprinkled with shredded Parmesan. It was okay, but definitely needed seasoning. It looks clean but isn't the same home-y spot we all loved. The kicker, though, is they changed the menu boards which now don't tell you what things are and they've like everyone else increased prices of normal items, including items that used to be included. Sandwiches used to come with chips, and now sandwiches are more and the small single size of chips are $4! Apparently they didn't read PepsiCo just missed a billion dollars in sales because they keep raising prices on Doritos. I can see add-ons for high quality products like soup, specialty fries, etc. I also know GDFC has expanded into KC, and I've been and spent healthy money at that luxury spot several times. But c'mon, this is just ludicrous charges at this point. When I realized the chip change, I asked for a refund of those alone, and the new sales terminal system took forever for multiple people to figure out. The manager on duty had to ultimately refund the whole thing, and reorder my entire order, meaning it's now cost all of us money in time. The staff is completely different - there's a chef in the back wearing a white coat like it's fine dining... the rest of the staff is friendly enough, but also not the same level of home we all got used to for many years. My sandwich finally came out, and it looks nothing like what we used to get - the Cuban is on a hoagie style roll. Not even that good anymore. No more winery inside, and limited drink options overall. And no more fresh ice cream, just overpriced "soft serve." I know we're in times that are a'changin... but some of it has gone too far. Hopefully they keep the same level of loyal business I imagine they had before. My loyalty has definitely shifted instantly to once in a while, if that.

Firstly, the staff there is just downright welcoming and just nothing but wonderful. Always have a smile and a nice word to say. And that goes a long way with me. Now I've only had the standard coffee there, so I can't speak to the specialty drinks. But if the coffee is any indicator, those specialty drinks are probably downright delicious! But the donuts, I've eaten my fair share of them throughout my life, but these are in a whole different arena. No. A whole different universe! The glazed donuts, of which I'm usually just meh on, are fluffy sweet pillows of goodness. Every donut I've had there is. Especially my favorite - what I call "the good mood maker" - the maple bacon. And some of their other interesting donuts, like cherry and blueberry fritters, interesting and amazing. Honestly, I refuse to go anywhere else for my donuts and coffee anymore.
