This is our favorite place to eat yummy Canadian food! We always get their poutine, smoked meat sandwich and whenever they have them, they're Beaver tails with maple butter and or the maple cotton candy Yum Yum. They also will put a nice splash of maple syrup in your coffee or espresso if you request it so good. Definitely would recommend this place. It's worth it. read more

3 hours outside of Prince George off the 97 en route to Vancouver, there is a MUST stop for coffee with maple syrup and smoked meat poutine. This unique Sugar shack is made even more remarkable by the owner whose gruff manner is also endearing. A black mastiff greeted us outside, and although we had been warned not to feed it, we couldn't resist sneaking some meat to her. We were just getting ready to leave when the owner dropped off a sandwich to which we protested wasn't ours and he told us not to argue with him! LOL! Later he sat down with us and confessed he had made too many sandwiches, which was our good fortune. Still here writing this review and I can't wait to come back already! read more

I m guessing its a big time hit during snow time coz its cozy. Wooden interiors n exteriors make it look n feel very cozy only if the staff was equally cozy n friendly. Nothing bad but no smiles and non welcoming approach make no customer service. Loved the bonfire, selective choice of drinks n snacks . Maple syrup n some clothing for purchase is available. There are board games to play n dining seating as well as counter seating to sit. Huge wood storage at the back of the shack from where u can purchase fire wood. Too bad that i didnt try any food . Great stop on the way to Williams Lake direction. Ambiance is great, and you got to chat with the owner, he will tell you all about the products they have in the store and the maple sugar is a must buy item! reat service! If you're camping in the area ask about the fire wood it's better then what you'll get anywhere else. This is the only place I know of to get real maple syrup in the can, outside of Quebec! I love the Sugar Shack! It has good food and a the space itself is lovely. I always make sure to stop there when I'm driving through 70 Mile House. I usually get a Montreal smoked meat sandwich and a coffee with maple syrup. While I've never had the poutine, it's been recommended to me many times. read more

Whenever I'm heading up north to visit family, I ALWAYS. always always stop here for poutine and a maple sweetened coffee! The owner is so passionate about his food, and he's always very accommodating if you're in the mood to buy maple products. And the poutine with the montreal smoked me? I swear to god, it's best poutine I've ever had: and I've had a lot of poutine. I've even told friends to drive up north just to have this stuff. Love the place! Came here the other day. Lady in there was actually very rude to me and my boyfriend. The food was Okay, but the fries were super crunchy/ overcooked. So service wise was very disappointed, was completely unnecessary, we were very nice. She didn't even crack a smile and kept talking to us like we were stupid. Food wasn't bad, But I don't think we will be coming back. Didn't exactly have a good atmosphere. read more

Stopped in for breakfast! Delicious food and coffee! Owners were super generous and kind! Our daughters were treated with some sample treats for finishing all their food! Highly recommend if you're heading north to stop in! We'll for sure be back next time we travel through! :) read more
