We've been getting our tree here for 3 years now and look forward to it every year. If you want to cut your own tree, I recommend going that weekend after Thanksgiving when they open for the season for the best selection. They also have a nice selection of pre cut trees, and they will trim, shake them out, and help you tie them to your car. They have all of the supplies you need, and I also look forward to getting one of their yearly ornaments. read more

We have been going to sugar pines farm for almost a decade now and it was always a treat. That all changed a few years ago when they removed everything that made this farm special. The line of cars spans about three roads. I am disappointed and disgusted that people would allow a wait time longer than 3 hours. We will never go to this money hungry business again. read more

Terrific selection of healthy Christmas trees in both species and sizes. Sugar Pines Farm offers pre-cut, cut your own, and balled (live) trees in a wide selection of varieties including myers spruce, blue spruce, balsam fir, and even hemlock (new for 2012). Fields are huge and segregated by species. The pre-cut barn even has a carousel for trees to be viewed all from one spot. Plenty of help to select, trim, shake, wrap/rope, and carry to your vehicle. Lots of parking and even flaggers to monitor safety and point out open stalls during busy days. IMPORTANT: Does NOT accept credit cards - cash & checks only! Tax is included in price tags on trees. Ownership of the farm changed in 2012, although the previous owners stay involved in the operation. We had been here once before but in 2012 we tried a couple of other tree farms closer to where we moved to (including Rhodes Sisters, Starr, North Corner). We were disappointed by the competitors' prices or that they didn't offer balled trees. There are a lot of choices between us and Sugar Pines Farm. However, we are completely happy with the healthy selection available, the prices, the expertise, and the friendliness, and smooth operation at Sugar Pines Farm. We will wholeheartedly return for many Christmases to come! read more

Well, we thought it was a perfect day to chop down a Christmas tree. Turns out, this tree farm that used to be incredible, has a new owner this year that has no idea how to run his business! Hundreds and hundreds of beautiful trees in all shapes & sizes. Unfortunately only about 5% of them were tagged for sale! What a frustrating experience! Neither of us were able to find anything suitable that was tagged. We are so disappointed and will not be returning to Sugar Pines Farm i Chesterland again. read more

During my visit here for the holidays we cut down a beautiful and strong Canaan Fir, which I had never heard about prior to coming to Sugar Pines Farm. Every tree was practically perfect in the field. They were all full, healthy, and nicely shaped. I've never seen a Christmas tree selection like this before. Everyone who worked there was exceptionally nice, inviting, and helpful. We brought our children, 1 year old and 2.5 years old, and they had a blast. We enjoyed complimentary s'mores around a fire pit, hot chocolate, cookies, and coffee after cutting down our tree. My family will definitely go back next year! read more

Visited again after a satisfying visit last year. A week and a half before Christmas, they ran out of trees.

Lots of trees to look at and not cut down. Will only let you cut down trees that are tagged. Not much of a selection. We went the second weekend it was open and by then any tree that was around 8ft was gone only trees left we're 10ft +. Trees were very over priced but that's what they do only let you cut down a certain selection so they can charge what ever they want. There were plenty of 7-8ft trees in next year's section but you can't touch then because there not tall enough to charge $100 or more for. Ended up going to a different tree farm where we found trees the same size half the price. read more

This is my 3rd year in a row getting a Christmas tree from Sugar Pines Farm. Lots of varieties of trees including Frasier Fir, Canaan Fir, Blue Spruce, White Pines, and the hits keep coming. Many sizes of trees from Charlie Brown trees to 12-14' high trees. Fields are well organized and marked. I love everything about the experience...the greeter as you pull up who hands you a list of trees on the lot (and subsequently crushes you when he tells you every single Frasier Fir has been cut down and removed from the farm the day prior...sigh...), the fresh cooked kettle corn, the cut-your-own experience, the saws, sleds, the tools available to you, and hot chocolate and cookies for sale. There are plenty of workers to assist you with bailing the tree and making a fresh cut. They even provide string and they will help you tie the tree down on your car. After a heavy rain, this place gets extremely muddy so wear sturdy and high boots. Cash or check only--no credit cards. And buy your tree as early as possible. I was stunned when I showed up this year on Dec. 2 and all the Frasier Fir trees were already cut down and removed. But I ended up finding a nice FF in the barn! read more
