But point blank, The Sweet Peddler blows The Sugar Shack out of the water with ease. We (family of 6) ordered the cappuccino chocolate chunk, salted caramel bananas foster, oatmeal cookie chunk, mermaid's delight, and cotton candy. I tried all of them (my right as the payor), and every last one was excellent. The cappuccino was legitimately the best coffee oriented ice cream I've ever had. In addition to AMAZING ice cream, the store also sells a wide selection of candies and stuffed animals, mermaids, etc. We ended up buying a couple dolls for the kids, to go along with the ice cream, then sat and enjoyed the free concert that's put on from 6-9 PM every night on the front lawn.

We even stopped by The Truman House nearby. As a huge fan of bookstores, when we passed by Sundog Books in the evening as our last stop before heading back to our hotel, I was impressed by a well organized and large (and fun) bookstore with so much to see. We didn't roam the second floor as we arrived shortly before closing but there is a record store on the upper floor. We did see apparel and gear for sell including sweatshirts, t-shirts, hoodies, tank tops, hats, mugs, bandanas, and tote bags. In scanning the various sections of the store, I quickly found some of my favorite fiction, historical fiction, and young adult fiction sections along with non-fiction favorites. I also found some new ideas of what I could read next, which I promptly added to my Goodreads account. I also enjoyed roaming the fun gift items, which were very creative but perfect for book loving visitors like me. Established more than 40 years ago by Bob and Linda White, the logo features their former dog Patty. The store was founded on individuality and a respect for independence though nowadays continues to focus on community. Check out their website at https://sundogbooks.com for online shopping, upcoming events, the Bookstore Buzz, and to learn about them. They give out their own Seaside Prize each year to a worthy author or authors. They also have multiple book signings in a typical week (listed on their event calendar). They are open from 9 AM to 8 PM year-round. While I love music and regret not seeing the second floor of records, I was very happy I made it to the store while it was still open. Now, if only I had enough room in my luggage for a number of books to buy while I passed through. Rather, I'll have to settle for online ordering from Sundog Books, which has some rather reasonable prices for a bookstore. I certainly recommend that visitors visit the bookstore and record shop!

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with fantastic customer service and so many delicious treats to choose from. Their selection of homemade fudge is incredible, with unique flavors you don't find everywhere. I even got to sample the lemon fudge for the first time, and it was absolutely amazing! They also have gorgeous caramel apples, and they'll even slice them for you when you purchase one--a small touch that makes them so much easier to enjoy. We couldn't resist trying a turtle-covered Rice Krispie treat, and it was every bit as delicious as it looked. We originally stopped in just for ice cream, but after seeing all the sweet treats, we ended up purchasing a little bit of everything. Whether you're craving ice cream, fudge, caramel apples, or other goodies, this place has something for everyone. Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully displayed.
