I came across this place just by picking up an Uber Eats delivery order and saw that they had vegan ice cream, and I could not allow myself to leave without trying it. I am a very lactose intolerant, borderline dairy allergy (severe migraines from it) person, and I've been eating vegan ice cream from various places for nearly twenty years. When I tell you this was the best vegan cookie dough ice cream I've ever had, I'm being so serious, and I wish that I had taken a video of my reaction because I audibly gasped and said "oh my god" on the first bite. UPDATE!! My first time at Sugar Head was almost a year ago and it wasn't the best experience. I decided to go back for a second time due to other people sharing their experience on FB. My second visit was completely DIFFERENT... Sugar Head is a big candy store. Inside is very inviting; when I first walked in I saw all my favorite chips and candies. They had a variety of snacks and ice cream available. I decided to get the same order as my first visit. I ordered a funnel cake and I added a raspberry cheesecake ice cream cone. The Funnel cake was completely different from my first visit. It was fresh , hot , and it actually had powdered sugar on it. The raspberry chip cheesecake ice cream is good as well. Went to pick up my DoorDash order from them and was late on my delivery because they take FOREVER to prepare the ice cream. I wasted 20 minutes for a $4 delivery because of them. Once they finally acknowledged me, it took them at least 10 minutes to get my order ready. The ice cream looked great and everything but not worth the time. read more

I tried it for the first time today and I'm excited for my next visit. It is like the "candy store" your neighbors had in their houses that the neighborhood kids came to but as a store front. I drove 30 minutes to try out this business. I get there and they sold us funnel cakes and 10 minutes later told us they did not have anymore and were waiting on a delivery. They were also out of vanilla, strawberry and other flavors of ice cream. There were kids running around back and overall the experience was lack luster. I used Sugar Head social ice cream bar for my daughters graduation party. It was a big success! They were punctual and she brought adequate staff. Everything was setup beautifully! I paid extra for brownies so my guest could have brownie sundaes and everyone talked about how delicious everything was. My guest were also impressed on how nice and professional the staff was. I heard about this place via Facebook and saw they were black owned and gave it a try. When we arrived it was crowded. There wasn't really any direction from staff on where to go to order vs wait. We spent maybe 35 minutes in there and ordered the funnel cake fries. They were cooked to order and fresh which made them taste good. My husband had butter pecan ice cream which he said was okay. Overall, I would come back on a less busy day because the two staff working the front seemed overwhelmed. read more

I give 5 stars for food and 1.5 for customer service. We got loaded fries nachos and a funnel cake sundae all delicious! And I'll probably give them another shot but the customer service was lacking everyone seemed to be in their own world. Also when I ordered my sundae I was told one thing but when it was being made I was told another and what I was originally told was not honored nor did the guy care about what the cashier said and did not correct her, this was a very bad first impression. I was out with the family and we wanted ice cream and the owner showed up at the right time with cards advertising her store. The shop was very nice and we wanted to try the funnel cake sundaes. The funnel cakes were hot and made to our liking. My fiance is what you call a funnel cake connoisseur, he loved it. I would definitely go back and I would like to try the jerk fries. Let me just tell you those brownies are to die for!!! I've never been a fan of brownies until I visited this place. It's a cute and super friendly establishment with great customer service. It's a combination of old school candy and handpicked ice cream ( black walnut, my FAV) plus a variety of other great treats like pickles and peppermint plus chips with hot cheese.
