While spending money on my fur baby's haircut is not the FIRST thing I want to do with my money, I am happy to take her there because of their hospitality and expertise.

BEST GROOMER IN PHILLY…read more I've tried everyone in this city, but no service compares to what my pomeranian receives at Pampered Pooch. I have always felt awful leaving my puppy at a groomer for the afternoon, especially when I hear other dogs yipping and barking from the back room (the grooming waiting room). My biggest nightmare is leaving her with a groomer who sticks my small & shy little pup in a kennel until it's her turn to be groomed, or who sticks her in a play-pen with a bunch of bigger rowdy dogs waiting to be picked up or groomed. This is NOT the case at Pampered Pooch. Thankfully! : ) As soon as you walk in the salon, you feel at ease. This is a one-pup-at-a-time kind of groomer. (which might be why it's sometimes hard to get on their schedule!) There is french cafe music playing in the background, and one delightful groomer to coddle your beloved pup while trimming, clipping, and primping your pooch to perfection. This truly is the best groomer in the city. Hands down. I am forever a fan! (oh and it was $59 for a full-service appointment. nice!)

For the mere price of $30 (less if you buy a pack of passes), your pooch will get a full day of daycare (as long as 7 am-7 pm during the week) including a personal walk at lunch and a REPORT CARD telling you who he played with and how he did during the day, it's so awesome! They also have a webcam, which generally runs, but not always, and they make some nice posts to facebook and instagram, but the report card is my favorite thing. If you are enrolled in daycare, they also offer boarding, and are generally pretty flexible and accommodating, though space is definitely limited. I highly recommend Ruff Life. I know that dog school has like 5 locations and makes a nice instagram feed, but the friendliness and flexibility of the ruff life staff really sets them apart. I'm embarrassed it took me this long to write this review because Doggie Style Pets is such an…read moreobvious five-star business. I've been making a conscious effort to show love to the local places that make our neighborhood special, and this one absolutely deserves it. I've been bringing my dog Archie here for grooming for nearly four years, and I've never had a bad experience. The groomers do an excellent job, and Archie always comes out looking great, happy, and proud of his fresh haircut. He has a lot of energy and isn't always the easiest customer, but the team is patient, thoughtful, and clearly cares about the animals they work with. When Archie was a puppy, he would get nervous walking past the store. These days, he's largely outgrown that fear and seems to know that his glow-up is worth the trip. I've compared their grooming prices with those of larger chains like PetSmart and found Doggie Style's pricing fair and competitive. What sets them apart is that you're supporting a local Philadelphia business that genuinely takes the time to get to know its customers and pets. Beyond grooming, the store carries a great selection of treats, food, toys, shampoo, and other pet supplies. The staff is knowledgeable, approachable, and always willing to answer questions. They also frequently have rescue dogs available for adoption, which is always a highlight and a wonderful resource for anyone looking to add a dog to their family. One thing I'd recommend is booking grooming appointments in advance. Their reputation is well deserved, and appointments can fill up a few weeks out. I've always appreciated that they'll sometimes call when an earlier opening becomes available. We've recommended Doggie Style Pets to countless people over the years. People regularly stop us at the dog park or on neighborhood walks to compliment Archie and ask where he gets groomed. Doggie Style Pets on Spruce is always our recommendation. In a city full of options, it's the rare business that earns your trust year after year. Doggie Style Pets has done exactly that. Thank you for taking such great care of Archie over the years. We're lucky to have you in the neighborhood!

I took my husky Sofia for a grooming. Bring me to Philly, I found this place on Yelp with great reviews. They did not disappoint! I've taken Sofia to many groomers over the years and this was the first time that didn't have lose hair while leaving the place. That alone gives them a 5 star rating. They provide other services as well, I opted to get her nails painted because, well, she's almost a real girl. Plus, after grooming and manicure, she walks with her head high and a pep in her step! I would recommend Spots Spot for anyone with pups that shed throughout the year. Make them your one and only stop for pampering your pooch!
