We used to shop at Stater Bros and Trader Joe's, but Stater is a west coast thing and the closest TJ's is 40 minutes away. The produce here is decent and there's a great variety of organic and non-organic leafy greens. I love spicy foods and spicy cooking, so I was surprised to find their peppers section had a wide variety mild to hot peppers. Looking for healthier and more natural or organic food options? That entire section is right next to the produce. The deli here is huge and offers a ton of fresh sliced meats, cheese and dinners sides. Plus there's free section that is always filled loaded! I haven't tried their sushi, but it always looks very fresh. Beyond that it's a pretty basic grocery store, offering everything you'd need for the pantry or fridge. One section that needs help is the ethic foods and spice section. Minimal variety, but I'm not surprised with this considering the neighborhood we are in. Pro Tip: Order your groceries through the Kroger app to avoid spending two hours at the store, but still get your Kroger points for cheap gas!

This Shell sits on Rivergate Parkway, essentially under Vietnam Veterans Parkway and for the most part, is your standard, locally owned neighborhood convenience store that happens to be branded Shell. With only 8 pumps and small interior, the footprint of this location is not that large. Due to this, they lack the options of larger locations. They have the well-known snacks and candies, and some of the drinks, but again, selection is limited. There is a small self serve coffee and soft drink station as well. However if you can't find the drink or snack you are after, can I interest you in a beanie baby or ski mask? The store has seen better days conditionally. From outside to inside to the restrooms, some TLC would do it some good. Cleanliness was good, no issues there. Service was friendly and helpful, owner was kind and good to deal with. Overall, good location for when needed...however there are better options in the immediate area as well.

Make sure you got that quarter before heading into the store!…read more ALDI has grown on me over the years, especially this location. I am usually a Kroger faithful, but the nearby Kroger location leaves a lot to be desired, so I swing in this ALDI location for a few main staples such as breads, deli meats, cheeses, eggs and frozen items. While I usually stick to the outside aisles at Aldi, I do wander up and down the inside aisles from time to time. While the prices are usually pretty solid at ALDI, the selection can be limited, especially in the meats and fresh vegetables sections. With both, the bulk packages are best priced...and with only a household of 2, that doesn't always make the best sense for me. But, it's a good option. A few other things about the brands at ALDI is you have to be careful as a cheaper price does equal a cheaper product. This is noticeable on majority of the snacks (chips, cookies, crackers). Service is decent at this location, but my only gripe is when the line backs up they rarely have another lane opened up, so you are usually waiting at checkout.
